Psalms 58

¹ For the leader. Do not destroy. A miktam of David.	¹ Magistro chori. Secundum " Ne destruxeris ". David. Miktam.
² Do you indeed pronounce justice, O gods; do you judge mortals fairly?	² Numquid vere, potentes, iustitiam loquimini, recte iudicatis filios hominum?
³ No, you freely engage in crime; your hands dispense violence to the earth.	³ Etenim in corde iniquitates operamini, in terra violentiam manus vestrae concinnant.
⁴ The wicked have been corrupt since birth; liars from the womb, they have gone astray.	⁴ Alienati sunt peccatores ab utero; erraverunt a ventre, qui loquuntur falsa.
⁵ Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like that of a serpent stopping its ears,	⁵ Venenum illis in similitudinem serpentis, sicut aspidis surdae et obturantis aures suas,
⁶ So as not to hear the voice of the charmer who casts such cunning spells.	⁶ quae non exaudiet vocem incantantium et venefici incantantis sapienter.
⁷ O God, smash the teeth in their mouths; break the jaw-teeth of these lions, LORD!	⁷ Deus, contere dentes eorum in ore ipsorum; molas leonum confringe, Domine.
⁸ Make them vanish like water flowing away; trodden down, let them wither like grass.	⁸ Diffluant tamquam aqua decurrens, sicut fenum conculcatum arescant.
⁹ Let them dissolve like a snail that oozes away, like an untimely birth that never sees the sun.	⁹ Sicut limax, quae tabescens transit, sicut abortivum mulieris, quod non viditsolem.
¹⁰ Suddenly, like brambles or thistles, have the whirlwind snatch them away.	¹⁰ Priusquam sentiant ollae vestrae rhamnum, sicut viventes, sicut ardor irae absorbet eos.
¹¹ Then the just shall rejoice to see the vengeance and bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.	¹¹ Laetabitur iustus, cum viderit vindictam, pedes suos lavabit in sanguine peccatoris.
¹² Then it will be said: "Truly there is a reward for the just; there is a God who is judge on earth!"	¹² Et dicet homo: “ Utique est fructus iusto, utique est Deus iudicans eos in terra ”.
