1 Why do the nations protest and the peoples grumble in vain?	1 Perchè si agitano le genti e i popoli meditan vani disegni?
2 Kings on earth rise up and princes plot together against the LORD and his anointed:	2 Sono insorti i re della terra, i principi cospirano insieme contro il Signore e contro il suo Cristo.
3 "Let us break their shackles and cast off their chains!"	3 « Spezziamo le loro catene, gettiamo lungi da noi il loro giogo ».
4 The one enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord derides them,	4 Colui che sta. nei cieli si ride di loro, e il Signore li schernisce.
5 Then speaks to them in anger, terrifies them in wrath:	5 Poi parla ad essi nella sua ira, e li atterrisce nel suo furore.
6 "I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain."	6 Ma io da lui sono stato costituito re sopra Sionne sua montagna santa, ad annunziare il suo decreto.
7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD, who said to me, "You are my son; today I am your father.	7 Il Signore mi ha detto: « Tu sei il mio Figliolo: oggi ti ho generato.
8 Only ask it of me, and I will make your inheritance the nations, your possession the ends of the earth.	8 Chiedimi, e ti darò in retaggio i popoli, e in tuo dominio gli ultimi confini della terra.
9 With an iron rod you shall shepherd them, like a clay pot you will shatter them."	9 Li governerai con verga di ferro, li stritolerai come vaso d'argilla ».
10 And now, kings, give heed; take warning, rulers on earth.	10 Ed ora, o re, mettete giudizio, imparate, o giudici della terra.
11 Serve the LORD with fear; with trembling bow down in homage, Lest God be angry and you perish from the way in a sudden blaze of anger. Happy are all who take refuge in God!	11 Servite al Signore con timore, ed a lui fate festa con tremore.
	12 Abbraccia te la disciplina, chè non s'adiri il Signore, e voi non vi perdiate fuori della retta via.
	13 Quando ad un tratto divamperà l'ira sua, beati tutti coloro che confidano in Lui.
