¹ For the leader. A psalm of David.	¹ Salmo di Davide dato al capo dei Musici. O DIO della mia lode, non tacere;
² O God, whom I praise, do not be silent, for wicked and treacherous mouths attack me. They speak against me with lying tongues;	² Perciocchè la bocca dell’empio e la bocca di frode si sono aperte contro a me; Hanno parlato meco con lingua bugiarda;
³ with hateful words they surround me, attacking me without cause.	³ E mi hanno assediato con parole d’odio; E mi hanno fatta guerra senza cagione.
⁴ In return for my love they slander me, even though I prayed for them.	⁴ In vece dell’amore che ho loro portato, mi sono stati avversari; Ed io ho loro renduta preghiera.
⁵ They repay me evil for good, hatred for my love. My enemies say of me:	⁵ Essi mi hanno renduto male per bene, E odio per lo mio amore
⁶ "Find a lying witness, an accuser to stand by his right hand,	⁶ Costituisci il maligno sopra lui; E fa’ che Satana gli stia alla destra.
⁷ That he may be judged and found guilty, that his plea may be in vain.	⁷ Quando sarà giudicato, esca condannato; E la sua preghiera gli torni in peccato.
⁸ May his days be few; may another take his office.	⁸ Sieno i suoi giorni pochi; Un altro prenda il suo ufficio.
⁹ May his children be fatherless, his wife, a widow.	⁹ Sieno i suoi figliuoli orfani, E la sua moglie vedova.
¹⁰ May his children be vagrant beggars, driven from their hovels.	¹⁰ E vadano i suoi figliuoli del continuo vagando; E mendichino, ed accattino, uscendo fuor de’ lor casolari.
¹¹ May the usurer snare all he owns, strangers plunder all he earns.	¹¹ L’usuraio tenda la rete a tutto ciò ch’egli ha; E rubino gli strani le sue fatiche.
¹² May no one treat him kindly or pity his fatherless children.	¹² Non siavi alcuno che stenda la sua benignità inverso lui; E non vi sia chi abbia pietà de’ suoi orfani.
¹³ May his posterity be destroyed, his name cease in the next generation.	¹³ Sieno distrutti i suoi discendenti; Sia cancellato il lor nome nella seconda generazione.
¹⁴ May the LORD remember his fathers' guilt; his mother's sin not be canceled.	¹⁴ Sia ricordata l’iniquità de’ suoi padri appo il Signore; E il peccato di sua madre non sia cancellato.
¹⁵ May their guilt be always before the LORD, till their memory is banished from the earth,	¹⁵ Sieno que’ peccati del continuo nel cospetto del Signore; E stermini egli d’in su la terra la memoria di essi.
¹⁶ For he did not remember to show kindness, but hounded the wretched poor and brought death to the brokenhearted.	¹⁶ Perciocchè egli non si è ricordato d’usar benignità, Ed ha perseguitato l’uomo povero, ed afflitto, E tribolato di cuore, per ucciderlo.
¹⁷ He loved cursing; may it come upon him; he hated blessing; may none come to him.	¹⁷ Poichè egli ha amata la maledizione, vengagli; E poichè non si è compiaciuto nella benedizione, allontanisi ella da lui.
¹⁸ May cursing clothe him like a robe; may it enter his belly like water, seep into his bones like oil.	¹⁸ E sia vestito di maledizione, come del suo manto; Ed entri quella come acqua nelle sue interiora, E come olio nelle sue ossa.
¹⁹ May it be near as the clothes he wears, as the belt always around him."	¹⁹ Siagli quella a guisa di vestimento, del quale egli sia avvolto; Ed a guisa di cintura, della quale sempre sia cinto.
²⁰ May the LORD bring all this upon my accusers, upon those who speak evil against me.	²⁰ Tal sia, da parte del Signore, la ricompensa de’ miei avversari, E di quelli che parlano male contro all’anima mia
²¹ But you, LORD, my God, deal kindly with me for your name's sake; in your great mercy rescue me.	²¹ Ma tu, o Signore Iddio, opera inverso me, per amor del tuo Nome; Liberami, perciocchè la tua benignità è buona.
²² For I am sorely in need; my heart is pierced within me.	²² Perciocchè io sono afflitto, e povero; E il mio cuore è piagato dentro di me.
²³ Like a lengthening shadow I near my end, all but swept away like the locust.	²³ Io me ne vo, come l’ombra quando dichina; Io sono agitato come una locusta.
²⁴ My knees totter from fasting; my flesh has wasted away.	²⁴ Le mie ginocchia vacillano per li miei digiuni; E la mia carne è dimagrata, e non ha più grassezza alcuna.
²⁵ I have become a mockery to them; when they see me, they shake their heads.	²⁵ Ed anche son loro in vituperio; Quando mi veggono, scuotono la testa.
²⁶ Help me, LORD, my God; save me in your kindness.	²⁶ Aiutami, Signore Iddio mio; Salvami secondo la tua benignità.
²⁷ Make them know this is your hand, that you, LORD, have acted.	²⁷ E sappiano che questo è la tua mano, E che tu, Signore, hai fatto questo.
²⁸ Though they curse, may you bless; shame my foes, that your servant may rejoice.	²⁸ Essi malediranno, e tu benedirai; Si sono innalzati, ma saran confusi, Ed il tuo servitore si rallegrerà.
²⁹ Clothe my accusers with disgrace; make them wear shame like a mantle.	²⁹ Sieno i miei avversari vestiti di vituperio, Ed avvolti della lor vergogna, come di un mantello.
³⁰ I will give fervent thanks to the LORD; before all I will praise my God.	³⁰ Io celebrerò altamente il Signore colla mia bocca; E lo loderò in mezzo de’ grandi.
³¹ For God stands at the right hand of the poor to defend them against unjust accusers.	³¹ Perciocchè egli sta alla destra del povero, Per salvarlo da quelli che lo condannano a morte
