KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.	1 Souviens-toi, Yahvé, de ce qui nous est arrivé, regarde et vois notre opprobre!
2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.	2 Notre héritage a passé à des étrangers, nos maisons à des inconnus.
3 We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.	3 Nous sommes orphelins, sans père; nos mères sont comme des veuves.
4 We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.	4 A prix d'argent nous buvons notre eau, notre bois, il nous faut le payer.
5 Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.	5 Le joug est sur notre cou, nous sommes persécutés; nous sommes à bout, et pour nous pas de répit.
6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.	6 Nous tendons la main à l'Egypte, à Assur pour nous rassasier de pain.
7 Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.	7 Nos pères ont péché: ils ne sont plus; et nous, nous portons leurs fautes.
8 Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.	8 Des esclaves dominent sur nous, nul ne nous délivre de leur main.
9 We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.	9 Au péril de nos vies nous rapportons notre pain en affrontant l'épée du désert.
10 Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.	10 Notre peau comme un four est brûlante, à cause des ardeurs de la faim.
11 They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.	11 Ils ont violé des femmes dans Sion, des vierges dans les villes de Juda.
12 Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.	12 Des princes ont été pendus de leur main: la face des vieillards n'a pas été respectée.
13 They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.	13 Des adolescents ont porté la meule, des garçons ont trébuché sous le bois.
14 The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.	14 Les anciens ont déserté la porte; les jeunes gens ont cessé leur musique.
15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.	15 La joie a disparu de notre coeur, notre danse s'est changée en deuil.
16 The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!	16 La couronne de notre tête est tombée. Malheur à nous, car nous avons péché!
17 For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.	17 Voilà pourquoi notre coeur est malade, voilà pourquoi s'obscurcissent nos yeux:
18 Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.	18 c'est que la montagne Sion est désolée, des chacals y rôdent!
19 Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.	19 Mais toi, Yahvé, tu demeures à jamais; ton trône subsiste d'âge en âge!
20 Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?	20 Pourquoi nous oublierais-tu pour toujours, nous abandonnerais-tu jusqu'à la fin des jours?
21 Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.	21 Fais-nous revenir à toi, Yahvé, et nous reviendrons. Renouvelle nos jours comme autrefois,
22 But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.	22 si tu ne nous as tout à fait rejetés, irrité contre nous sans mesure.
