1 A parte que tocou por sorte à tribo de Judá, segundo suas famílias, estendia-se para o limite de Edom até o deserto de Sin, na extremidade meridional da terra.	1 The lot for the clans of the Judahite tribe fell in the extreme south toward the boundary of Edom, the desert of Zin in the Negeb.
2 Sua fronteira, ao sul, partia da extremidade do mar Salgado, do braço que ele estende para o meio-dia,	2 The boundary there ran from the bay that forms the southern end of the Salt Sea,
3 e prolongava-se para o sul da subida de Acrabim, passava em Sin e subia para o sul de Cades-Barne, passava em Esron, subindo para Adar e dando volta a Carcaa;	3 southward below the pass of Akrabbim, across through Zin, up to a point south of Kadesh-barnea, across to Hezron, and up to Addar; from there, looping around Karka,
4 passando dali para Asmon, continuava até a torrente do Egito e terminava no mar. Esta a fronteira sul.	4 it crossed to Azmon and then joined the Wadi of Egypt before coming out at the sea. (This is your southern boundary.)

6 e subia a Bet-Agla, passava ao norte de Bet-Araba e ia até a pedra de Boen, filho de Rubem;	6 The northern boundary climbed from the bay where the Jordan meets the sea, up to Beth-hoglah, and ran north of Beth-arabah, up to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben.
7 depois subia para Debera, desde o vale de Acor para o norte, olhando para os lados de Gálgala, que está defronte da subida de Adomim, ao sul da torrente. Passava junto das águas de En-Semes e terminava em En-Rogel.	7 Thence it climbed to Debir, north of the vale of Achor, in the direction of the Gilgal that faces the pass of Adummim, on the south side of the wadi; from there it crossed to the waters of En-shemesh and emerged at En-rogel.
8 Daí subia para o vale de Ben Enom até a vertente meridional de Jebus, que é Jerusalém. Em seguida, elevava-se até o cimo do monte que está fronteiro ao vale de Enom, para o ocidente, e na extremidade do vale dos refains para o norte.	8 Climbing again to the Valley of Ben-hinnom on the southern flank of the Jebusites (that is, Jerusalem), the boundary rose to the top of the mountain at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim, which bounds the Valley of Hinnom on the west.
9 Do cimo do monte, estendia-se até a fonte das águas de Neftoa, dirigia-se para as cidades da montanha de Efron, e depois continuava para Baala, que é Cariatiarim.	9 From the top of the mountain it ran to the fountain of waters of Nephtoah, extended to the cities of Mount Ephron, and continued to Baalah, or Kiriath-jearim.
10 De Baala, a fronteira dava volta para o ocidente até o monte Seir e passava pela vertente setentrional do monte Jarim que é Queslon; descia a Betsames, passava por Tama,	10 From Baalah the boundary curved westward to Mount Seir and passed north of the ridge of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon); thence it descended to Beth-shemesh, and ran across to Timnah.
11 e dirigia-se para o norte até a vertente de Acaron; estendia-se para Secrona, passava pelo monte Baala, e ia até Jebneel, terminando no mar.	11 It then extended along the northern flank of Ekron, continued through Shikkeron, and across to Mount Baalah, thence to include Jabneel, before it came out at the sea.
12 Era o mar Grande que fazia o limite da fronteira ocidental. Tais foram, por todos os lados, as fronteiras dos filhos de Judá, segundo suas famílias.	12 The western boundary was the Great Sea and its coast. This was the complete boundary of the clans of the Judahites.
13 A Caleb, filho de Jefoné, foi dada uma parte no meio dos filhos de Judá, como o Senhor tinha prescrito a Josué: a cidade de Arbé, pai de Enac, isto é, Hebron.	13 As the LORD had commanded, Joshua gave Caleb, son of Jephunneh, a portion among the Judahites, namely, Kiriath-arba (Arba was the father of Anak), that is, Hebron.
14 Caleb expulsou dela os três filhos de Enac: Sesai, Aimã e Tolmai.	14 And Caleb drove out from there the three Anakim, the descendants of Anak: Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai.
15 Dali, marchou contra os habitantes de Dabir, que antes se chamava Cariat-Sefer.	15 From there he marched up against the inhabitants of Debir, which was formerly called Kiriath-sepher.
16 Eu darei minha filha Axa, disse Caleb, por mulher, àquele que assaltar e tomar Cariat-Sefer.	16 Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Achsah in marriage to the one who attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it."
17 Otoniel, filho de Cenez, irmão de Caleb, conquistou essa cidade, e Caleb deu-lhe por mulher sua filha Axa.	17 Othniel, son of Caleb's brother Kenaz, captured it, and so Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah in marriage.
18 Chegando Axa à casa de Otoniel, ele incitou-a a que pedisse ao seu pai um campo. Ao descer do jumento, Caleb disse-lhe: Que tens?	18 On the day of her marriage to Othniel, she induced him to ask her father for some land. Then, as she alighted from the ass, Caleb asked her, "What is troubling you?"
19 Ela respondeu: Dá-me um presente. Deste-me uma terra árida: dá-me agora fontes. E ele deu-lhe as fontes superiores e as fontes inferiores.	19 She answered, "Give me an additional gift! Since you have assigned to me land in the Negeb, give me also pools of water." So he gave her the upper and the lower pools.
20 Tal foi a parte da tribo de Judá, segundo suas famílias.	20 This is the heritage of the clans of the tribe of Judahites:
21 As cidades situadas na extremidade da tribo dos filhos de Judá, para os lados da fronteira de Edom, no Negeb, eram: Cabseel, Eder, Jagur,	21 The cities of the tribe of the Judahites in the extreme southern district toward Edom were: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,

63 Os filhos de Judá não chegaram a expulsar os jebuseus que habitavam em Jerusalém, de sorte que os jebuseus continuam ainda habitando Jerusalém com os filhos de Judá.	63 (But the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem the Judahites could not drive out; so the Jebusites dwell in Jerusalem beside the Judahites to the present day.)
