1 Por que tumultuam as nações? Por que tramam os povos vãs conspirações?	1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 Erguem-se, juntos, os reis da terra, e os príncipes se unem para conspirar contra o Senhor e contra seu Cristo.	2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Quebremos seu jugo, disseram eles, e sacudamos para longe de nós as suas cadeias!	3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 Aquele, porém, que mora nos céus, se ri, o Senhor os reduz ao ridículo.	4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Dirigindo-se a eles em cólera, ele os aterra com o seu furor:	5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 Sou eu, diz, quem me sagrei um rei em Sião, minha montanha santa.	6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 Vou publicar o decreto do Senhor. Disse-me o Senhor: Tu és meu filho, eu hoje te gerei.	7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 Pede-me; dar-te-ei por herança todas as nações; tu possuirás os confins do mundo.	8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 Tu as governarás com cetro de ferro, tu as pulverizarás como um vaso de argila.	9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Agora, ó reis, compreendei isto; instruí-vos, ó juízes da terra.	10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 Servi ao Senhor com respeito e exultai em sua presença;	11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 prestai-lhe homenagem com tremor, para que não se irrite e não pereçais quando, em breve, se acender sua cólera. Felizes, entretanto, todos os que nele confiam.	12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
