1 I will not stir him up, like one that is cruel : for who can resist my countenance?	1 Ecco: la speranza fallisce, si resta sgomenti al solo vederlo.
2 Who hath given me before that I should repay him? All things that are under heaven are mine.	2 Nessuno è così ardito da provocarlo: chi sta fermo di fronte a lui?
3 I will not spare him, nor his mighty words, and framed to make supplication.	3 Chi lo ha assalito e ne è uscito salvo? Nessuno, sotto ogni cielo.
4 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can go into the midst of his mouth?	4 Non tacerò le sue membra, la sua forza e la sua bella struttura.
5 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.	5 Chi ha sollevato la superficie della sua veste ed è penetrato nella sua doppia corazza?
6 His body is like molten shields, shut close up with scales pressing upon one another.	6 Chi aprì i battenti della sua bocca? Intorno ai suoi denti è il terrore!
7 One is joined to another, and not so much as any air can come between them :	7 Il suo dorso è una fila di scudi, strettamente serrati, con sigillo.
8 They stick one to another and they hold one another fast, and shall not be separated.	8 L’uno aderisce all’altro e filo d’aria non passa in mezzo;
9 His sneezing is like the shining of fire, and his eyes like the eyelids of the morning.	9 ciascuno è attaccato al vicino, sono stretti insieme né si staccano.
10 Out of his mouth go forth lamps, like torches of lighted fire.	10 Il suo starnutire irradia luce: gli occhi sono come le palpebre dell'aurora.
11 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, like that of a pot heated and boiling.	11 Dalla sua bocca partono fiaccole, sprizzano scintille di fuoco.
12 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame cometh forth out of his mouth.	12 Dalle sue narici esce fumo come da caldaia accesa e bollente.
13 In his neck strength shall dwell, and want goeth before his face.	13 Il suo soffio accende carboni, fiamme escono dalla sua bocca.
14 The members of his flesh cleave one to another : he shall send lightnings against him, and they shall not be carried to another place.	14 Nel suo collo risiede la forza, davanti a lui balza il terrore.
15 His heart shall be as hard as a stone, and as firm as a smith's anvil.	15 Le polpe della sua carne sono compatte salde di lui e non flosce.
16 When he shall raise him up, the angels shall fear, and being affrighted shall purify themselves.	16 Il suo cuore è duro come una pietra, duro come la mola inferiore.
17 When a sword shall lay at him, it shall not be able to hold, nor a spear, nor a breastplate.	17 Quando si rizza, temono anche i forti, per il terrore restano smarriti.
18 For he shall esteem iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.	18 La spada che lo raggiunge non si fissa né lancia né freccia né dardo.
19 The archer shall not put him to flight, the stones of the sling are to him like stubble.	19 Disprezza il ferro come paglia e il bronzo come legno fradicio.
20 As stubble will he esteem the hammer, and he will laugh him to scorn who shaketh the spear.	20 Le saette non lo mettono in fuga, le pietre della fionda gli sono come pula.
21 The beams of the sun shall be under him, and he shall strew gold under him like mire.	21 Disprezza la mazza, se ne ride come di stoppi, se ne ride del fischiare dei giavellotti.
22 He shall make the deep sea to boil like a pot, and shall make it as when ointments boil.	22 Di sotto ha punte di coccio e riga il terreno come un erpice.
23 A path shall shine after him, he shall esteem the deep as growing old.	23 Fa ribollire i gorghi come pentola, agita il mare come vaso d’unguento.
24 There is no power upon earth that can be compared with him who was made to fear no one.	24 Si lascia dietro un sentiero luminoso; si direbbe che l’abisso è canuto.
25 He beholdeth every high thing, he is king over all the children of pride.	25 Nessuno sulla terra è pari a lui, fatto per non aver paura.
