Osea 7

BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mentre sto per guarire Israele, si scopre l'iniquità di Èfraim e la malvagità di Samaria, poiché si pratica la menzogna: il ladro entra nelle case e fuori saccheggia il brigante.	1 Whenever I would heal Israel, I am confronted by the guilt of Ephraim and the evil-doings of Samaria;for deceit is their principle of behaviour; the thief breaks into the house, marauders raid in the open;
2 Non pensano dunque che io ricordo tutte le loro malvagità? Ora sono circondati dalle loro azioni: esse stanno davanti a me.	2 and they never pause to consider that I remember al their wicked deeds; and now their own deeds hemthem in and stare me in the face.
3 Con la loro malvagità rallegrano il re, rallegrano i capi con le loro finzioni.	3 They amuse the king with their wickedness and the chief men with their lies.
4 Tutti bruciano d'ira, ardono come un forno quando il fornaio cessa di rattizzare il fuoco, dopo che, preparata la pasta, aspetta che sia lievitata.	4 They are al adulterers, hot as an oven which the baker need not stoke from the time he has kneadedthe dough until it rises.
5 Nel giorno del nostro re i capi lo sommergono negli ardori del vino, ed egli si compromette con i ribelli.	5 At the holiday for our king, the ministers become inflamed with wine, while he accepts the homage ofpeople
6 Il loro cuore è un forno nelle loro trame, tutta la notte sonnecchia il loro furore e la mattina divampa come fiamma.	6 who laugh at him. Their hearts are like an oven as they plot, all night their passion slumbers, then in themorning it bursts into flame;
7 Tutti ardono come un forno e divorano i loro governanti. Così sono caduti tutti i loro sovrani e nessuno si preoccupa di ricorrere a me.	7 yes, al of them as hot as ovens, they consume their rulers. All their kings have fal en thus, not one ofthem has ever cal ed on me.
8 Èfraim si mescola con le genti, Èfraim è come una focaccia non rivoltata.	8 Ephraim mixes with the nations. Ephraim is a half-baked cake.
9 Gli stranieri divorano la sua forza ed egli non se ne accorge; la canizie gli ricopre la testa ed egli non se ne accorge.	9 Foreigners have eaten his strength away but he is unconscious of it; even his hair is turning grey but heis unconscious of it.
10 L'arroganza d'Israele testimonia contro di loro, non ritornano al Signore loro Dio e, malgrado tutto, non lo ricercano.	10 (Israel's arrogance is his own accuser; but they do not come back to Yahweh their God or seek him,despite al this.)
11 Èfraim è come un'ingenua colomba, priva d'intelligenza; ora chiamano l'Egitto, ora invece l'Assiria.	11 Ephraim is like a silly, witless pigeon cal ing on Egypt, turning to Assyria.
12 Dovunque si rivolgeranno stenderò la mia rete contro di loro e li abbatterò come gli uccelli dell'aria, li punirò nelle loro assemblee.	12 Wherever they turn, I shal spread my net over them, I shal bring them down like the birds of the sky, Ishall punish them for their perversity.
13 Guai a costoro, ormai lontani da me! Distruzione per loro, perché hanno agito male contro di me! Li volevo salvare, ma essi hanno proferito menzogne contro di me.	13 Woe to them for having fled from me! Ruin seize them for having wronged me! I have rescued themagain and again and they have only told lies about me.
14 Non gridano a me con il loro cuore quando gridano sui loro giacigli. Si fanno incisioni per il grano e il mosto e intanto si ribellano contro di me.	14 Theirs is no heartfelt cry to me when they lament on their beds; when they gash themselves over thegrain and new wine, they are stil rebelling against me.
15 Eppure io ho rafforzato il loro braccio, ma essi hanno tramato il male contro di me.	15 Though I supported and gave strength to their arms, they plan how to hurt me.
16 Si sono rivolti ma non a colui che è in alto, sono stati come un arco fallace. I loro capi cadranno di spada per l'insolenza della loro lingua e nell'Egitto rideranno di loro.	16 They turn to what does not exist, they are like a faulty bow. Their leaders wil fal by the swordbecause of their arrogant talk; how they wil be laughed at in Egypt!
