1 Tu fa' avvicinare a te tra gli Israeliti, Aronne tuo fratello e i suoi figli con lui, perché siano miei sacerdoti; Aronne e Nadab, Abiu, Eleazaro, Itamar, figli di Aronne.	1 'From among the Israelites, summon your brother Aaron and his sons to be priests in my service:Aaron and Aaron's sons Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
2 Farai per Aronne, tuo fratello, abiti sacri, che esprimano gloria e maestà.	2 For your brother Aaron you wil make sacred vestments to give dignity and magnificence.
3 Tu parlerai a tutti gli artigiani più esperti, ai quali io ho dato uno spirito di saggezza, ed essi faranno gli abiti di Aronne per la sua consacrazione e per l'esercizio del sacerdozio in mio onore.	3 You will instruct al the skilled men, whom I have endowed with skil , to make Aaron's vestments for hisconsecration to my priesthood.
4 Ed ecco gli abiti che faranno: il pettorale e l''efod', il manto, la tunica damascata, il turbante e la cintura. Faranno vesti sacre per Aronne tuo fratello e per i suoi figli, perché esercitino il sacerdozio in mio onore.	4 These are the vestments which they must make: a pectoral, an ephod, a robe, an embroidered tunic, aturban and a belt. They must make sacred vestments for your brother Aaron and his sons, for them to be priestsin my service.
5 Essi dovranno usare oro, porpora viola e porpora rossa, scarlatto e bisso.	5 They wil use gold and violet material, red-purple and crimson, and finely woven linen.
6 Faranno l''efod' con oro, porpora viola e porpora rossa, scarlatto e bisso ritorto, artisticamente lavorati.	6 'They wil make the ephod of finely woven linen embroidered with gold, violet-purple, red-purple andcrimson.
7 Avrà due spalline attaccate alle due estremità e in tal modo formerà un pezzo ben unito.	7 It wil have two shoulder-straps joined to it; it will be joined to them by its two edges.
8 La cintura per fissarlo e che sta sopra di esso sarà della stessa fattura e sarà d'un sol pezzo: sarà intessuta d'oro, di porpora viola e porpora rossa, scarlatto e bisso ritorto.	8 The waistband on the ephod to hold it in position must be of the same workmanship and be of a piecewith it: of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.
9 Prenderai due pietre di ònice e inciderai su di esse i nomi degli Israeliti:	9 You will then take two cornelians and engrave them with the names of the sons of Israel,
10 sei dei loro nomi sulla prima pietra e gli altri sei nomi sulla seconda pietra, in ordine di nascita.	10 six of their names on one stone, the remaining six names on the other, in the order of their birth.
11 Inciderai le due pietre con i nomi degli Israeliti, seguendo l'arte dell'intagliatore di pietre per l'incisione di un sigillo; le inserirai in castoni d'oro.	11 By the stone-carver's art -- seal engraving -- you wil engrave the two stones with the names of thesons of Israel. You will have them mounted in gold settings
12 Fisserai le due pietre sulle spalline dell''efod', come pietre che ricordino presso di me gli Israeliti; così Aronne porterà i loro nomi sulle sue spalle davanti al Signore, come un memoriale.	12 and wil put the two stones on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, to commemorate the sons of Israel.In this way Aaron will bear their names on his two shoulders, before Yahweh, as a reminder.
13 Farai anche i castoni d'oro	13 You wil also make golden rosettes,
14 e due catene d'oro in forma di cordoni, con un lavoro d'intreccio; poi fisserai le catene a intreccio sui castoni.	14 and two chains of pure gold twisted like cord, and wil attach the cord-like chains to the rosettes.
15 Farai il pettorale del giudizio, artisticamente lavorato, di fattura uguale a quella dell''efod': con oro, porpora viola, porpora rossa, scarlatto e bisso ritorto.	15 'You wil make the breastplate of judgement of the same embroidered work as the ephod; you wilmake it of gold, violet-purple, red-purple and crimson materials and finely woven linen.
16 Sarà quadrato, doppio; avrà una spanna di lunghezza e una spanna di larghezza.	16 It must be square and doubled over, a span in length and a span in width.
17 Lo coprirai con una incastonatura di pietre preziose, disposte in quattro file. Una fila: una cornalina, un topazio e uno smeraldo: così la prima fila.	17 In it you wil set four rows of stones: a sard, topaz and emerald for the first row;
18 La seconda fila: un turchese, uno zaffìro e un berillo.	18 for the second row, a garnet, sapphire and diamond;
19 La terza fila: un giacinto, un'àgata e un'ametista.	19 for the third row, a hyacinth, a ruby and an amethyst;
20 La quarta fila: un crisòlito, un ònice e un diaspro. Saranno inserite nell'oro mediante i loro castoni.	20 and for the fourth row, a beryl, a cornelian and a jasper. These must be mounted in gold settings.
21 Le pietre corrisponderanno ai nomi degli Israeliti: dodici, secondo i loro nomi, e saranno incise come sigilli, ciascuna con il nome corrispondente, secondo le dodici tribù.	21 The stones wil correspond to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve like their names, engraved likeseals, each with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
22 Poi farai sul pettorale catene in forma di cordoni, lavoro d'intreccio d'oro puro.	22 For the breastplate you wil make chains of pure gold twisted like cords,
23 Farai sul pettorale due anelli d'oro e metterai i due anelli alle estremità del pettorale.	23 and on the breastplate you wil make two gold rings, putting the two rings on the two outside edges ofthe breastplate
24 Metterai le due catene d'oro sui due anelli alle estremità del pettorale.	24 and fastening the two gold cords to the two rings on the outside edges of the breastplate.
25 Quanto alle due altre estremità delle catene, le fisserai sui due castoni e le farai passare sulle due spalline dell''efod' nella parte anteriore.	25 The other two ends of the cords you wil fasten to the two rosettes, putting these on the shoulder-straps of the ephod, on the front.
26 Farai due anelli d'oro e li metterai sulle due estremità del pettorale sul suo bordo che è dalla parte dell''efod', verso l'interno.	26 You wil also make two gold rings and put them on the two edges of the breastplate, on the innerside, against the ephod;
27 Farai due altri anelli d'oro e li metterai sulle due spalline dell''efod' in basso, sul suo lato anteriore, in vicinanza del punto di attacco, al di sopra della cintura dell''efod'.	27 and you wil make two gold rings and put them low down on the front of the two shoulder-pieces ofthe ephod, close to the join, above the waistband of the ephod.
28 Si legherà il pettorale con i suoi anelli agli anelli dell''efod' mediante un cordone di porpora viola, perché stia al di sopra della cintura dell''efod' e perché il pettorale non si distacchi dall''efod'.	28 The breastplate wil be secured by a violet-purple cord passed through its rings and those of theephod, so that the breastplate wil sit above the waistband and not come apart from the ephod.
29 Così Aronne porterà i nomi degli Israeliti sul pettorale del giudizio, sopra il suo cuore, quando entrerà nel Santo, come memoriale davanti al Signore per sempre.	29 Thus Aaron wil bear the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgement, on his heart,when he enters the sanctuary, as a reminder, before Yahweh, always.
30 Unirai al pettorale del giudizio gli 'urim' e i 'tummim'. Saranno così sopra il cuore di Aronne quando entrerà alla presenza del Signore: Aronne porterà il giudizio degli Israeliti sopra il suo cuore alla presenza del Signore per sempre.	30 To the breastplate of judgement you will add the urim and the thummim, and these wil be on Aaron'sheart when he goes into Yahweh's presence, and Aaron will bear the Israelites' judgement on his heart, inYahweh's presence, always.
31 Farai il manto dell''efod', tutto di porpora viola	31 'You wil make the robe of the ephod entirely of violet-purple.
32 con in mezzo una scollatura per la testa; il bordo attorno alla scollatura sarà un lavoro di tessitore come la scollatura di una corazza, che non si lacera.	32 In the centre it will have an opening for the head, the opening to have round it a border woven likethe neck of a coat of mail, so that it wil not get torn.
33 Farai sul suo lembo melagrane di porpora viola, di porpora rossa e di scarlatto, intorno al suo lembo, e in mezzo porrai sonagli d'oro:	33 On its lower hem, you wil make pomegranates of violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, and finelywoven linen al round the hem, with golden bel s between them al round:
34 un sonaglio d'oro e una melagrana, un sonaglio d'oro e una melagrana intorno all'orlo del manto.	34 a golden bell and then a pomegranate, alternately, al round the lower hem of the robe.
35 Esso rivestirà Aronne nelle funzioni sacerdotali e se ne sentirà il suono quando egli entrerà nel Santo alla presenza del Signore e quando ne uscirà; così non morirà.	35 Aaron must wear it when he officiates, and the tinkling will be heard when he goes into the sanctuaryinto Yahweh's presence, or leaves it, and so he wil not incur death.
36 Farai una lamina d'oro puro e vi inciderai, come su di un sigillo: "Sacro al Signore".	36 'You wil make a flower of pure gold and on it, as you would engrave a seal, you wil engrave,"Consecrated to Yahweh".
37 L'attaccherai con un cordone di porpora viola al turbante, sulla parte anteriore.	37 You wil put it on a violet-purple cord; it wil go on the turban; the front of the turban is the place whereit must go.
38 Starà sulla fronte di Aronne; Aronne porterà il carico delle colpe che potranno commettere gli Israeliti, in occasione delle offerte sacre da loro presentate. Aronne la porterà sempre sulla sua fronte, per attirare su di essi il favore del Signore.	38 This wil go on Aaron's brow, and Aaron will thus take on himself the short-comings in the holy thingsconsecrated by the Israelites, in all their holy offerings. It wil be on his brow permanently, to make themacceptable to Yahweh.
39 Tesserai la tunica di bisso. Farai un turbante di bisso e una cintura, lavoro di ricamo.	39 The tunic you wil weave of fine linen, and make a turban of fine linen, and an embroideredwaistband.
40 Per i figli di Aronne farai tuniche e cinture. Per essi farai anche berretti a gloria e decoro.	40 'For the sons of Aaron you will make tunics and waistbands. You wil also make them head-dressesto give dignity and magnificence.
41 Farai indossare queste vesti ad Aronne, tuo fratello, e ai suoi figli. Poi li ungerai, darai loro l'investitura e li consacrerai, perché esercitino il sacerdozio in mio onore.	41 You wil dress your brother Aaron and his sons in these; you wil then anoint them, invest them andconsecrate them to serve me in the priesthood.
42 Farai loro inoltre calzoni di lino, per coprire la loro nudità; dovranno arrivare dai fianchi fino alle cosce.	42 You wil also make them linen breeches reaching from waist to thigh, to cover their bare flesh.
43 Aronne e i suoi figli li indosseranno quando entreranno nella tenda del convegno o quando si avvicineranno all'altare per officiare nel santuario, perché non incorrano in una colpa che li farebbe morire. È una prescrizione rituale perenne per lui e per i suoi discendenti.	43 Aaron and his sons wil wear these when they go into the Tent of Meeting and when they approachthe altar to serve in the sanctuary, as a precaution against incurring mortal guilt. This is a perpetual decree forAaron and for his descendants after him.'
