1 Durante il suo regno, Nabucodónosor re di Babilonia gli mosse guerra; Ioiakìm gli fu sottomesso per tre anni, poi gli si ribellò.	1 In his times, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for threeyears, but then rebelled against him a second time.
2 Il Signore mandò contro di lui bande armate di Caldei, di Aramei, di Moabiti e di Ammoniti; le mandò in Giuda per annientarlo, secondo la parola che il Signore aveva pronunziata per mezzo dei suoi servi, i profeti.	2 So he sent armed bands of Chaldaeans, Aramaeans, Moabites and Ammonites against him; he sentthese against Judah to destroy it, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spoken through his servantsthe prophets.
3 Ciò avvenne in Giuda solo per volere del Signore, che volle allontanarlo dalla sua presenza a causa del peccato di Manàsse, per tutto ciò che aveva fatto,	3 It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Judah; he had resolved to thrust themaway from him because of Manasseh's sins and al that he had done,
4 e anche a causa del sangue innocente versato quando aveva riempito di sangue innocente Gerusalemme; per questo il Signore non volle placarsi.	4 and also because of the innocent blood which he had shed, flooding Jerusalem with innocent blood.Yahweh would not forgive.

His mother's name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.

10 In quel tempo gli ufficiali di Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia marciarono contro Gerusalemme; la città subì l'assedio.	10 At that time the troops of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on Jerusalem, and the city wasbesieged.
11 Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia giunse presso la città, mentre i suoi ufficiali l'assediavano.	11 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on the city and his generals laid siege to it.
12 Ioiachìn re di Giuda si presentò con sua madre, i suoi ministri, i suoi capi e i suoi eunuchi, al re di Babilonia; questi, nell'anno ottavo del suo regno, lo fece prigioniero.	12 Jehoiachin king of Judah-he, his mother, his retinue, his nobles and his officials -- then surrendered tothe king of Babylon, and the king of Babylon took them prisoner in the eighth year of his reign.

His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.

Sedecìa poi si ribellò al re di Babilonia.	20 It was entirely due to Yahweh's anger that this happened to Jerusalem and Judah. It resulted in hiscasting them from his presence. Zedekiah rebel ed against the king of Babylon.
