2 Samuel 22

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 David dirigió al Señor las palabras de este canto, cuando el Señor lo libró de todos sus enemigos y de la mano de Saúl.	1 David addressed the words of this song to Yahweh, when Yahweh had delivered him from theclutches of all his enemies and from the clutches of Saul.
2 El dijo: Yo te amo, Señor, mi fuerza	2 He said: Yahweh is my rock and my fortress,
3 Señor, mi Roca, mi fortaleza y mi libertador, mi Dios, el peñasco en que me refugio, mi escudo, mi fuerza salvadora, mi baluarte, mi salvador, que me libras de la violencia.	3 my deliverer is my God. I take refuge in him, my rock, my shield, my saving strength, my stronghold,my place of refuge. My Saviour, you have saved me from violence;
4 Yo invoco al Señor, que es digno de alabanza, y quedo a salvo de mis enemigos.	4 I cal to Yahweh, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my foes.
5 Las olas de la Muerte me envolvieron, me aterraron los torrentes devastadores,	5 With Death's breakers closing in on me, Belial's torrents ready to swal ow me,
6 me cercaron los lazos del Abismo, las redes de la Muerte llegaron hasta mí.	6 Sheol's snares on every side of me, Death's traps lying ahead of me,
7 Pero en mi angustia invoqué al Señor, grité a mi Dios pidiendo auxilio, y él escuchó mi voz desde su Templo, mi grito llegó hasta sus oídos.	7 I cal ed to Yahweh in my anguish, I cried for help to my God, from his Temple he heard my voice, mycry came to his ears!
8 Entonces tembló y se tambaleó la tierra: vacilaron los fundamentos de las montañas, y se conmovieron a causa de su furor;	8 Then the earth quaked and rocked, the heavens' foundations shuddered, they quaked at his blazinganger.
9 de su nariz se alzó una humareda, de su boca, un fuego abrasador, y arrojaba carbones encendidos.	9 Smoke rose from his nostrils, from his mouth devouring fire (coals were kindled at it).
10 El Señor inclinó el cielo, y descendió con un espeso nubarrón bajo sus pies;	10 He parted the heavens and came down, a storm-cloud underneath his feet;
11 montó en el Querubín y emprendió vuelo, planeando sobre las alas del viento.	11 riding one of the winged creatures, he flew, soaring on the wings of the wind.
12 Se envolvió en un manto de tinieblas; un oscuro aguacero y espesas nubes lo cubrían como un toldo;	12 He wrapped himself in darkness, his pavilion dark waters and dense cloud.
13 las nubes se deshicieron en granizo y centellas al fulgor de su presencia.	13 A brightness lit up before him, hail and blazing fire.
14 El Señor tronaba desde el cielo, el Altísimo hacía oír su voz;	14 Yahweh thundered from the heavens, the Most High made his voice heard.
15 arrojó flechas y los dispersó, lanzó rayos y sembró la confusión.	15 He shot his arrows and scattered them, his lightning flashed and routed them.
16 Al proferir tus amenazas, Señor, al soplar el vendaval de tu ira, aparecieron los cauces del mar y quedaron a la vista los cimientos del mundo.	16 The very springs of ocean were exposed, the world's foundations were laid bare, at the roaring ofYahweh, at the blast of breath from his nostrils!
17 El tendió su mano desde lo alto y me tomó, me sacó de las aguas caudalosas;	17 He reached down from on high, snatched me up, pul ed me from the watery depths,
18 me libró de mi enemigo poderoso, de adversarios más fuertes que yo.	18 rescued me from my mighty foe, from my enemies who were stronger than I.
19 Ellos me enfrentaron en un día nefasto, pero el Señor fue mi apoyo:	19 They assailed me on my day of disaster, but Yahweh was there to support me,
20 me sacó a un lugar espacioso, me libró, porque me ama.	20 he freed me, set me at large, he rescued me, because he loves me.
21 El Señor me recompensó de mis manos:	21 Yahweh rewards me for my uprightness, as my hands are pure so he repays me,
22 porque seguí fielmente los caminos del Señor, y no me aparté de mi Dios, haciendo el mal;	22 since I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and not fal en away from my God.
23 porque tengo presente todas sus decisiones y nunca me alejé de sus preceptos.	23 His judgements are al before me, his statutes I have not put away from me;
24 Tuve ante él una conducta irreprochable y me esforcé por no ofenderlo.	24 I am blameless before him, I keep myself clear of evil.
25 El Señor me premió, porque yo era justo y era inocente ante sus ojos.	25 Hence Yahweh repaid me for acting uprightly because he could see I was pure.
26 Tú eres bondadoso con los buenos y eres íntegro con el hombre intachable;	26 Faithful you are to the faithful, blameless with the blameless,
27 eres sincero con los que son sinceros y te muestras astuto con los falsos.	27 sincere to the sincere but cunning to the crafty,
28 Porque tú salvas al pueblo oprimido y humillas los ojos altaneros:	28 you save a people that is humble and humiliate those with haughty looks.
29 tú eres mi lámpara, Señor; Dios mío, tú iluminas mis tinieblas	29 Yahweh, you yourself are my lamp, my God lights up my darkness;
30 Contigo puedo atacar a un tropel; con mi Dios, puedo asaltar una muralla.	30 with you I storm the rampart with my God I can scale any wal .
31 El camino de Dios es perfecto, la promesa del Señor es digna de confianza. El Señor es un escudo para los que se refugian en él,	31 This God, his way is blameless; the word of Yahweh is refined in the furnace, for he alone is theshield of al who take refuge in him.
32 porque ¿Quién es Dios fuera del Señor? ¿y quién es la Roca fuera de nuestro Dios?	32 For who is God but Yahweh, who is a rock but our God:
33 El es el Dios que me ciñe de valor y hace intachable mi camino;	33 this God who girds me with strength, who makes my way free from blame,
34 el que me da la rapidez de un ciervo y me afianza en las alturas;	34 who makes me as swift as a deer and sets me firmly on the heights,
35 el que adiestra mis manos para la guerra y mis brazos para tender el arco de bronce.	35 who trains my hands for battle my arms to bend a bow of bronze.
36 Me entregaste tu escudo victorioso y tu mano derecha me sostuvo; me engrandeciste con tu triunfo,	36 You give me your invincible shield, you never cease to listen to me,
37 me hiciste dar largos pasos, y no se doblaron mis tobillos.	37 you give me the strides of a giant, give me ankles that never weaken-
38 Perseguí y alcancé a mis enemigos, no me volví hasta que fueron aniquilados;	38 I pursue my enemies and exterminate them, not turning back till they are annihilated;
39 los derroté y no pudieron rehacerse, quedaron abatidos bajo mis pies.	39 I strike them down, and they cannot rise, they fal , they are under my feet.
40 Tú me ceñiste de valor para la lucha, doblegaste ante mí a mis agresores;	40 You have girded me with strength for the fight, bent down my assailants beneath me,
41 pusiste en fuga a mis enemigos, y yo exterminé a mis adversarios.	41 made my enemies retreat before me; and those who hate me I destroy.
42 Imploraron, pero nadie los salvó; gritaban al Señor, pero no les respondía.	42 They cry out, there is no one to save, to Yahweh, but no answer comes.
43 Los deshice como polvo de la tierra, los pisé como el barro de las calles.	43 I crumble them like the dust of the squares, trample them like the mud of the streets.
44 Tú me libraste de un ejército incontable y me pusiste al frente de naciones: pueblos extraños son mis vasallos.	44 You free me from the quarrels of my people, you place me at the head of the nations, a people I didnot know are now my servants,
45 Gente extranjera me rinde pleitesía; apenas me oyen nombrar, me prestan obediencia.	45 foreigners come wooing my favour, no sooner do they hear than they obey me,
46 Los extranjeros palidecen ante mí y, temblando, abandonan sus refugios.	46 foreigners grow faint of heart, they come trembling out of their fastnesses.
47 ¡Viva el Señor! ¡Bendita sea mi Roca! ¡Glorificado sea Dios, la Roca de mi salvación,	47 Life to Yahweh! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be the God of my salvation,
48 el Dios que venga mis agravios y pone a los pueblos a mis pies!	48 the God who gives me vengeance and crushes the peoples under me,
49 Tú me liberas de mis enemigos, me haces triunfar de mis agresores y me libras del hombre violento.	49 who takes me away from my enemies. You lift me high above those who attack me, you deliver mefrom the man of violence.
50 Por eso te alabaré entre las naciones y cantaré, Señor, en honor de tu Nombre.	50 For this I wil praise you, Yahweh, among the nations, and sing praise to your name.
51 El concede grandes victorias a su rey y trata con fidelidad a su Ungido. a David y a su descendencia para siempre.	51 He saves his king, time after time, displays faithful love for his anointed, for David and his heirs forever.
