BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Por tanto, hermanos míos queridos y añorados, mi gozo y mi corona, manteneos así firmes en el Señor, queridos.	1 So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in theLord, dear friends.
2 Ruego a Evodia, lo mismo que a Síntique, tengan un mismo sentir en el Señor.	2 I urge Euodia, and I urge Syntyche to come to agreement with each other in the Lord;
3 También te ruego a ti, Sícigo, verdadero «compañero», que las ayudes, ya que lucharon por el Evangelio a mi lado, lo mismo que Clemente y demás colaboradores míos, cuyos nombres están en el libro de la vida.	3 and I ask you, Syzygus, real y to be a 'partner' and help them. These women have struggled hard for thegospel with me, along with Clement and al my other fel ow-workers, whose names are written in the book of life.
4 Estad siempre alegres en el Señor; os lo repito, estad alegres.	4 Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful.
5 Que vuestra mesura sea conocida de todos los hombres. El Señor está cerca.	5 Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.
6 No os inquietéis por cosa alguna; antes bien, en toda ocasión, presentad a Dios vuestras peticiones, mediante la oración y la súplica, acompañadas de la acción de gracias.	6 Never worry about anything; but tel God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shotthrough with gratitude,
7 Y la paz de Dios, que supera todo conocimiento, custodiará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.	7 and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding wil guard your hearts and your thoughts inChrist Jesus.
8 Por lo demás, hermanos, todo cuanto hay de verdadero, de noble, de justo, de puro, de amable, de honorable, todo cuanto sea virtud y cosa digna de elogio, todo eso tenedlo en cuenta.	8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be fil ed with everything that is true, everything that is honourable,everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good andpraiseworthy.
9 Todo cuanto habéis aprendido y recibido y oído y visto en mí, ponedlo por obra y el Dios de la paz estará con vosotros.	9 Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Thenthe God of peace will be with you.
10 Me alegré mucho en el Señor de que ya al fin hayan florecido vuestros buenos sentimientos para conmigo. Ya los teníais, sólo que os faltaba ocasión de manifestarlos.	10 As for me, I am full of joy in the Lord, now that at last your consideration for me has blossomed again;though I recognise that you really did have consideration before, but had no opportunity to show it.
11 No lo digo movido por la necesidad, pues he aprendido a contentarme con lo que tengo.	11 I do not say this because I have lacked anything; I have learnt to manage with whatever I have.
12 Sé andar escaso y sobrado. Estoy avezado a todo y en todo: a la saciedad y al hambre; a la abundancia y a la privación.	12 I know how to live modestly, and I know how to live luxuriously too: in every way now I have masteredthe secret of al conditions: ful stomach and empty stomach, plenty and poverty.
13 Todo lo puedo en Aquel que me conforta.	13 There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me.
14 En todo caso, hicisteis bien en compartir mi tribulación.	14 Al the same, it was good of you to share with me in my hardships.
15 Y sabéis también vosotros, filipenses, que en el comienzo de la evangelización, cuando salí de Macedonia, ninguna Iglesia me abrió cuentas de «haber y debe», sino vosotros solos.	15 In the early days of the gospel, as you of Philippi wel know, when I left Macedonia, no church otherthan yourselves made common account with me in the matter of expenditure and receipts. You were the onlyones;
16 Pues incluso cuando estaba yo en Tesalónica enviasteis por dos veces con que atender a mi necesidad.	16 and what is more, you have twice sent me what I needed in Thessalonica.
17 No es que yo busque el don; sino que busco que aumenten los intereses en vuestra cuenta.	17 It is not the gift that I value most; what I value is the interest that is mounting up in your account.
18 Tengo cuanto necesito, y me sobra; nado en la abundancia después de haber recibido de Epafrodrito lo que me habéis enviado, suave aroma, sacrificio que Dios acepta con agrado.	18 I have al that I need and more: I am ful y provided, now that I have received from Epaphroditus theoffering that you sent, a pleasing smel , the sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to God.
19 Y mi Dios proveerá a todas vuestras necesidades con magnificencia, conforme a su riqueza, en Cristo Jesús.	19 And my God will fulfil al your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 Y a Dios, nuestro Padre, la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.	20 And so glory be to God our Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Saludad a todos los santos en Cristo Jesús. Os saludan los hermanos que están conmigo.	21 My greetings to every one of God's holy people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me sendyou their greetings.
22 Os saludan todos los Santos, especialmente los de la Casa del César.	22 Al God's holy people send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.
23 La gracia del Señor Jesucristo sea con vuestro espíritu.	23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
