1 From the Elder: greetings to my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in truth.	1 :
2 My dear friend, I hope everything is going happily with you and that you are as well physical y as youare spiritual y.	2 ايها الحبيب في كل شيء اروم ان تكون ناجحا وصحيحا كما ان نفسك ناجحة.
3 It was a great joy to me when some brothers came and told of your faithfulness to the truth, and of yourlife in the truth.	3 لاني فرحت جدا اذ حضر اخوة وشهدوا بالحق الذي فيك كما انك تسلك بالحق.
4 It is always my greatest joy to hear that my children are living according to the truth.	4 ليس لي فرح اعظم من هذا ان اسمع عن اولادي انهم يسلكون بالحق
5 My dear friend, you have done loyal work in helping these brothers, even though they were strangers toyou.	5 ايها الحبيب انت تفعل بالامانة كل ما تصنعه الى الاخوة والى الغرباء
6 They are a proof to the whole Church of your love and it would be a kindness if you could help them ontheir journey as God would approve.	6 الذين شهدوا بمحبتك امام الكنيسة. الذين تفعل حسنا اذا شيعتهم كما يحق للّه
7 It was entirely for the sake of the name that they set out, without depending on the non-believers foranything:	7 لانهم من اجل اسمه خرجوا وهم لا يأخذون شيئا من الامم.
8 it is our duty to welcome people of this sort and contribute our share to their work for the truth.	8 فنحن ينبغي لنا ان نقبل امثال هؤلاء لكي نكون عاملين معهم بالحق
9 I have written a note for the members of the church, but Diotrephes, who enjoys being in charge of it,refuses to accept us.	9 كتبت الى الكنيسة ولكن ديوتريفس الذي يحب ان يكون الاول بينهم لا يقبلنا.
10 So if I come, I shal tel everyone how he has behaved, and about the wicked accusations he has beencirculating against us. As if that were not enough, he not only refuses to welcome our brothers, but prevents fromdoing so other people who would have liked to, and expels them from the church.	10 من اجل ذلك اذا جئت فسأذكّره باعماله التي يعملها هاذرا علينا باقوال خبيثة. واذ هو غير مكتف بهذه لا يقبل الاخوة ويمنع ايضا الذين يريدون ويطردهم من الكنيسة.
11 My dear friend, never fol ow a bad example, but keep fol owing the good one; whoever does what isright is from God, but no one who does what is wrong has ever seen God.	11 ايها الحبيب لا تتمثل بالشر بل بالخير لان من يصنع الخير هو من الله ومن يصنع الشر فلم يبصر الله
12 Demetrius has been approved by everyone, and indeed by Truth itself. We too wil vouch for him andyou know that our testimony is true.	12 ديمتريوس مشهود له من الجميع ومن الحق نفسه ونحن ايضا نشهد وانتم تعلمون ان شهادتنا هي صادقة
13 There were several things I had to tel you but I would rather not trust them to pen and ink.	13 وكان لي كثير لاكتبه لكنني لست اريد ان اكتب اليك بحبر وقلم
14 However, I hope to see you soon and talk to you in person.	14 ولكنني ارجو ان اراك عن قريب فنتكلم فما لفم. ( [ (III John 1:15) ) سلام لك. يسلم عليك الاحباء. سلم على الاحباء باسمائهم ]
