1 Peter 5

1 I urge the elders among you, as a fellow-elder myself and a witness to the sufferings of Christ, and asone who is to have a share in the glory that is to be revealed:	1 - I presbiteri adunque, che sono tra voi, li esorto, io parimente presbitero e testimone dei patimenti di Cristo, e chiamato a parte di quella gloria, che sarà un giorno manifestata;
2 give a shepherd's care to the flock of God that is entrusted to you: watch over it, not simply as a dutybut gladly, as God wants; not for sordid money, but because you are eager to do it.	2 pascete il gregge di Dio, che da voi dipende, governandolo non forzatamente, ma di buona voglia, come vuole Iddio; non per amore di vil guadagno, ma con animo volonteroso;
3 Do not lord it over the group which is in your charge, but be an example for the flock.	3 e non come dominatori dell'eredità [del Signore], ma divenuti sinceramente modelli del gregge.
4 When the chief shepherd appears, you wil be given the unfading crown of glory.	4 E quando il principe dei pastori apparirà, riceverete la incorruttibile corona di gloria.
5 In the same way, younger people, be subject to the elders. Humility towards one another must be thegarment you all wear constantly, because God opposes the proud but accords his favour to the humble.	5 Parimenti voi, o giovani, siate soggetti ai presbiteri. Nelle vostre vicendevoli relazioni, mostratevi tutti adorni di umiltà, perchè Dio resiste ai superbi e dà grazia agli umili.
6 Bow down, then, before the power of God now, so that he may raise you up in due time;	6 Umiliatevi dunque, sotto la potente mano di Dio, affinchè egli vi esalti nel tempo della visita.
7 unload al your burden on to him, since he is concerned about you.	7 Ogni vostra sollecitudine gettate in lui, perchè egli ha cura di voi.
8 Keep sober and alert, because your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking forsomeone to devour.	8 Siate sobrii, e vegliate, perchè il vostro avversario, il diavolo, vi gira attorno come un leone ruggente, cercando chi divorare.
9 Stand up to him, strong in faith and in the knowledge that it is the same kind of suffering that thecommunity of your brothers throughout the world is undergoing.	9 Resistetegli, forti nella fede, sapendo che i vostri fratelli, che son nel mondo, patiscono le stesse cose.
10 You wil have to suffer only for a little while: the God of all grace who called you to eternal glory inChrist wil restore you, he wil confirm, strengthen and support you.	10 Ma il Dio di ogni grazia, che ci ha chiamati all'eterna sua gloria in Cristo Gesù, con un po' di patire vi perfezionerà, vi conforterà e vi darà vigore.
11 His power lasts for ever and ever. Amen.	11 A Lui gloria e impero nei secoli. Così sia.
12 I write these few words to you through Silvanus, who is a trustworthy brother, to encourage you andattest that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!	12 Per mezzo di Silvano, fratello fedele, vi ho scritto, parmi, brevemente, per esortarvi e per attestarvi che la vera grazia di Dio è questa nella quale state.
13 Your sister in Babylon, who is with you among the chosen, sends you greetings; so does my son,Mark.	13 Vi saluta la Chiesa che è in Babilonia, con voi eletta, e Marco, il mio figliuolo.
14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you al who are in Christ.	14 Salutatevi gli uni gli altri con un bacio santo. La grazia a voi tutti, che siete in Cristo. Così sia.
