1 Peter 5

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 I urge the elders among you, as a fellow-elder myself and a witness to the sufferings of Christ, and asone who is to have a share in the glory that is to be revealed:	1 Exhorto a los presbíteros que están entre ustedes, siendo yo presbítero como ellos y testigo de los sufrimientos de Cristo y copartícipe de la gloria que va a ser revelada.
2 give a shepherd's care to the flock of God that is entrusted to you: watch over it, not simply as a dutybut gladly, as God wants; not for sordid money, but because you are eager to do it.	2 Apacienten el Rebaño de Dios, que les ha sido confiado; velen por él, no forzada, sino espontáneamente, como lo quiere Dios; no por un interés mezquino, sino con abnegación;
3 Do not lord it over the group which is in your charge, but be an example for the flock.	3 no pretendiendo dominar a los que les han sido encomendados, sino siendo de corazón ejemplo para el Rebaño.
4 When the chief shepherd appears, you wil be given the unfading crown of glory.	4 Y cuando llegue el Jefe de los pastores, recibirán la corona imperecedera de gloria.
5 In the same way, younger people, be subject to the elders. Humility towards one another must be thegarment you all wear constantly, because God opposes the proud but accords his favour to the humble.	5 De la misma manera, ustedes, los jóvenes, sométanse a los presbíteros. Que cada uno se revista de sentimientos de humildad para con los demás, porque Dios se opone a los orgullosos y da su ayuda a los humildes.
6 Bow down, then, before the power of God now, so that he may raise you up in due time;	6 Humíllense bajo la mano poderosa de Dios, para que él los eleve en el momento oportuno.
7 unload al your burden on to him, since he is concerned about you.	7 Descarguen en él todas sus inquietudes, ya que él se ocupa de ustedes.
8 Keep sober and alert, because your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking forsomeone to devour.	8 Sean sobrios y estén siempre alerta, porque su enemigo, el demonio, ronda como un león rugiente, buscando a quién devorar.
9 Stand up to him, strong in faith and in the knowledge that it is the same kind of suffering that thecommunity of your brothers throughout the world is undergoing.	9 Resístanlo firmes en la fe, sabiendo que sus hermanos dispersos por el mundo padecen los mismos sufrimientos que ustedes.
10 You wil have to suffer only for a little while: the God of all grace who called you to eternal glory inChrist wil restore you, he wil confirm, strengthen and support you.	10 El Dios de toda gracia, que nos ha llamado a su gloria eterna en Cristo, después que hayan padecido un poco, los restablecerá y confirmará, los hará fuertes e inconmovibles.
11 His power lasts for ever and ever. Amen.	11 ¡A él sea la gloria y el poder eternamente! Amén.
12 I write these few words to you through Silvanus, who is a trustworthy brother, to encourage you andattest that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!	12 Les escribo estas palabras por medio de Silvano, a quien considero un hermano fiel, para exhortarlos y atestiguar que esta es la verdadera gracia de Dios: permanezcan adheridos a ella.
13 Your sister in Babylon, who is with you among the chosen, sends you greetings; so does my son,Mark.	13 La iglesia de Babilonia, que ha sido elegida como ustedes, los saluda, lo mismo que mi hijo Marcos.
14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you al who are in Christ.	14 Salúdense los unos a los otros con un beso de amor fraternal. Que descienda la paz sobre todos ustedes, los que están unidos a Cristo.
