1 Peter 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 I urge the elders among you, as a fellow-elder myself and a witness to the sufferings of Christ, and asone who is to have a share in the glory that is to be revealed:	1 I sacerdoti che sono tra di voi li scongiuro io, sacerdote come loro, e testimone dei patimenti di Cristo e chiamato a far parte di quella gloria che sarà un giorno manifestata:
2 give a shepherd's care to the flock of God that is entrusted to you: watch over it, not simply as a dutybut gladly, as God wants; not for sordid money, but because you are eager to do it.	2 pascete il gregge di Dio, che vi è affidato, governandolo non por forza, ma di buona voglia, secondo Dio, non per amore di vii guadagno, ma con animo volenteroso;
3 Do not lord it over the group which is in your charge, but be an example for the flock.	3 non come dominatore dell'eredità (del Signore), ma come sinceri modelli del gregge;
4 When the chief shepherd appears, you wil be given the unfading crown of glory.	4 e così, quando apparirà il principe dei pastori, riceverete l'incorruttibile corona della gloria.
5 In the same way, younger people, be subject to the elders. Humility towards one another must be thegarment you all wear constantly, because God opposes the proud but accords his favour to the humble.	5 Parimenti voi, o giovani, state soggetti ai sacerdoti. Tutti poi nelle vostre relazioni vicendevoli rivestitevi d'umiltà; perchè « Dio resiste ai superbi e dà la grazia agli umili ».
6 Bow down, then, before the power of God now, so that he may raise you up in due time;	6 Umiliatevi dunque sotto la potente mano di Dio, affinchè egli vi esalti nel tempo della visita;
7 unload al your burden on to him, since he is concerned about you.	7 e gettate in lui ogni vostra ansietà, perchè Egli hai cura di voi.
8 Keep sober and alert, because your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking forsomeone to devour.	8 Siate sobrii e vegliate, perchè il diavolo, vostro avversario, come leone ruggente vi gira intorno, cercando chi divorare;
9 Stand up to him, strong in faith and in the knowledge that it is the same kind of suffering that thecommunity of your brothers throughout the world is undergoing.	9 resistetegli forti nella fede, sapendo che i vostri fratelli dispersi nel mondo soffrono gli stessi vostri patimenti.
10 You wil have to suffer only for a little while: the God of all grace who called you to eternal glory inChrist wil restore you, he wil confirm, strengthen and support you.	10 Ma il Dio d'ogni grazia, il quale ci ha chiamati in Gesù Cristo all'eterna sua gloria, con un po' di patire vi perfezionerà, vi conforterà, vi confermerà.
11 His power lasts for ever and ever. Amen.	11 A lui la gloria e l'impero nei secoli dei secoli. Cosi sia.
12 I write these few words to you through Silvanus, who is a trustworthy brother, to encourage you andattest that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it!	12 Per mezzo di Silvano, fratello fedele, vi ho scritto, per quanto mi pare, brevemente, allo scopo di esortarvi e di attestarvi che la vera grazia di Dio è questa, nella quale voi state costanti.
13 Your sister in Babylon, who is with you among the chosen, sends you greetings; so does my son,Mark.	13 La Chiesa, come voi eletta, che è in Babilonia vi saluta ed anche Marco mio figlio.
14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you al who are in Christ.	14 Salutatevi gli uni gli altri col bacio santo. La grazia a voi tutti che siete in Cristo Gesù. Cosi sia.
