Hebrews 5

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Every high priest is taken from among human beings and is appointed to act on their behalf inrelationships with God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins;	1 Infatti ogni pontefice, preso di tra gli uomini, è costituito in favore degli uomini nelle cose che riguardano Dio, perché offra doni e vittime per i peccati,
2 he can sympathise with those who are ignorant or who have gone astray, because he too is subject tothe limitations of weakness.	2 essendo capace di usare indulgenza per gli ignoranti e gli sviati, dal momento che anch'egli è avvolto di debolezza,
3 That is why he has to make sin offerings for himself as wel as for the people.	3 e a motivo di questa deve offrire sacrifici per i peccati, come per il popolo, così anche per se stesso.
4 No one takes this honour on himself; it needs a cal from God, as in Aaron's case.	4 E nessuno si prende l'onore da se stesso, ma quando è chiamato da Dio, così come anche Aronne.
5 And so it was not Christ who gave himself the glory of becoming high priest, but the one who said tohim: You are my Son, today I have fathered you,	5 Così anche Cristo non glorificò se stesso nel divenire gran sacerdote, ma lo fece sacerdote colui che gli disse: Mio figlio sei tu, io oggi ti ho generato.
6 and in another text: You are a priest for ever, of the order of Melchizedek.	6 Come anche in altro luogo dice: Tu sei sacerdote per l'eternità secondo l'ordine di Melchìsedek.
7 During his life on earth, he offered up prayer and entreaty, with loud cries and with tears, to the onewho had the power to save him from death, and, winning a hearing by his reverence,	7 Il quale, nei giorni della sua carne, implorò e supplicò con grida veementi e lacrime colui che poteva salvarlo da morte, e fu esaudito per la sua riverenza.
8 he learnt obedience, Son though he was, through his sufferings;	8 E imparò da ciò che soffrì l'obbedienza, pur essendo Figlio.
9 when he had been perfected, he became for al who obey him the source of eternal salvation	9 E perfezionato, diventò per tutti quelli che gli prestano obbedienza autore di eterna salvezza,
10 and was acclaimed by God with the title of high priest of the order of Melchizedek.	10 proclamato da Dio sommo sacerdote secondo l'ordine di Melchìsedek.
11 On this subject we have many things to say, and they are difficult to explain because you have grownso slow at understanding.	11 Intorno a ciò il discorso per noi si fa abbondante e difficile da esporre, perché siete divenuti pigri nell'ascoltare.
12 Indeed, when you should by this time have become masters, you need someone to teach you al overagain the elements of the principles of God's sayings; you have gone back to needing milk, and not solid food.	12 Infatti, mentre per il tempo dovreste essere maestri, invece avete nuovamente bisogno che uno vi insegni i rudimenti degli oracoli di Dio, e siete diventati bisognosi di latte, non di cibo solido.
13 Truly, no one who is stil living on milk can digest the doctrine of saving justice, being stil a baby.	13 Infatti, chi prende il latte non ha l'esperienza della dottrina della giustizia, perché è un bambino.
14 Solid food is for adults with minds trained by practice to distinguish between good and bad.	14 Invece il cibo solido è dei perfetti, i quali per la consuetudine hanno i sensi allenati al discernimento del bene e del male.
