1 Every high priest is taken from among human beings and is appointed to act on their behalf inrelationships with God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins;	1 - Ogni sommo sacerdote, proveniente dagli uomini, è costituito a vantaggio degli uomini per i loro rapporti con Dio, allo scopo di offrire oblazioni e sacrifizi per i peccati;
2 he can sympathise with those who are ignorant or who have gone astray, because he too is subject tothe limitations of weakness.	2 egli può essere indulgente verso gli ignoranti e i traviati,
3 That is why he has to make sin offerings for himself as wel as for the people.	3 poichè anch'egli è soggetto a debolezza, e per questo deve, come per il popolo, così per se stesso soffrire sacrifici in espiazione dei peccati.
4 No one takes this honour on himself; it needs a cal from God, as in Aaron's case.	4 E non v'è alcuno che assuma da sè la dignità, ma vi è chiamato da Dio, com'è il caso di Aronne.
5 And so it was not Christ who gave himself the glory of becoming high priest, but the one who said tohim: You are my Son, today I have fathered you,	5 Così anche Cristo non s'arrogò da sè la gloria di diventare Sommo Sacerdote, ma gliela diede Colui che disse: «Tu sei figlio mio, oggi io ti ho generato»;
6 and in another text: You are a priest for ever, of the order of Melchizedek.	6 come anche in altro luogo dice: «Tu sei sacerdote in eterno secondo l'ordine di Melchisedec».
7 During his life on earth, he offered up prayer and entreaty, with loud cries and with tears, to the onewho had the power to save him from death, and, winning a hearing by his reverence,	7 Egli nei giorni della sua vita nella carne, avendo con forti grida e lagrime, presentato preghiere e supplicazioni a chi lo poteva salvare dalla morte; ed essendo stato esaudito a cagion della sua pietà,
8 he learnt obedience, Son though he was, through his sufferings;	8 pur essendo Figlio, imparò da quel che sofferse a obbedire,
9 when he had been perfected, he became for al who obey him the source of eternal salvation	9 e giunto alla perfezione, divenne per tutti quelli che gli obbediscono, cagione di eterna salvezza,
10 and was acclaimed by God with the title of high priest of the order of Melchizedek.	10 proclamato da Dio Sommo Sacerdote secondo l'ordine di Melchisedec.
11 On this subject we have many things to say, and they are difficult to explain because you have grownso slow at understanding.	11 Intorno a ciò è lungo il mio discorso e difficile a spiegare, perchè voi siete diventati lenti a capire.
12 Indeed, when you should by this time have become masters, you need someone to teach you al overagain the elements of the principles of God's sayings; you have gone back to needing milk, and not solid food.	12 Poichè mentre per il tempo dovreste essere maestri, avete ancora bisogno vi s'insegnino i primi elementi della parola di Dio, e siete diventati bisognosi di latte piuttosto che di nutrimento solido.
13 Truly, no one who is stil living on milk can digest the doctrine of saving justice, being stil a baby.	13 Chi prende ancora latte, non ha esperienza del discorso della giustizia, essendo ancora bambino;
14 Solid food is for adults with minds trained by practice to distinguish between good and bad.	14 il cibo solido è solo quello degli uomini fatti, cioè di quelli che per la pratica hanno le facoltà esercitate al discernimento del bene e del male.
