Hebrews 3

1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.	1 - Voi dunque, fratelli santi, che siete partecipi alla celeste chiamata ben considerate l'apostolo e il sommo sacerdote della nostra fede, Gesù;
2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;	2 il quale è fedele a colui che l'ha costituito, come anche Mosè fu [fedele] in tutta la casa di Lui.
3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.	3 Giacchè Gesù è stato fatto degno di tanta maggior gloria in confronto di Mosè, quanto maggior onore ha, in confronto a una casa, chi l'ha costruita.
4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.	4 Poichè ogni casa vien costruita da qualcuno e chi ha costruito ogni cosa è Dio.
5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,	5 Ora Mosè fu sì fedele in tutta la casa di Dio come servitore, a testimonianza delle cose che sarebbero state annunziate,
6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.	6 ma Cristo fu, come figlio, soprastante alla propria casa e la sua casa siamo noi, a condizione che manteniamo salda sino alla fine la sicura fiducia e la speranza di cui ci gloriamo.
7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!	7 Perciò, come dice lo Spirito Santo: «Oggi, se voi udite la sua voce,
8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,	8 non indurite i vostri cuori come al tempo della contesa, nel giorno della tentazione nel deserto,
9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do	9 quando mi tentarono i vostri padri nella prova. E videro le opere mie
10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'	10 per quarant'anni; per cui mi irritai con questa generazione, e dissi: - Sempre si sviano nel cuor loro, e non hanno conosciuto le mie vie -;
11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.	11 sicchè io giurai nell'ira mia: - Non entreranno nel mio riposo -».
12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.	12 Badate, o fratelli, che non vi sia in alcuno di voi un cuor malvagio ed incredulo, sì da scostarsi dal Dio vivente,
13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,	13 ma esortatevi a vicenda ogni giorno, fino a che si può dire «oggi», affinchè non «s'indurisca» qualcuno di voi per l'inganno del peccato;
14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.	14 poichè noi siam partecipi di Cristo alla condizione che manteniamo salda sino alla fine la fiducia che avemmo a principio
15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,	15 quando si diceva: «Oggi se udite la voce di Lui, non indurite i vostri cuori come al tempo della contesa».
16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.	16 E chi furono quelli che ascoltata la sua voce contesero con Lui? non forse quelli tutti che erano usciti dall'Egitto per opera di Mose?
17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.	17 E contro chi s'irritò nei quarant'anni? non con quelli che avevano peccato, i cui cadaveri giacquero nel deserto?
18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.	18 A chi giurò che non sarebbero entrati nel suo riposo se non a quelli che non avevan creduto?
19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.	19 E noi vediamo che non poterono entrare per la loro incredulità.
