Hebrews 3

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.	1 LAONDE, fratelli santi, che siete partecipi della celeste vocazione, considerate l’apostolo, e il sommo sacerdote della nostra professione, Gesù Cristo;
2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;	2 che è fedele a colui che lo ha costituito, siccome ancora fu Mosè in tutta la casa d’esso.
3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.	3 Perciocchè, di tanto maggior gloria che Mosè è costui stato reputato degno, quanto maggior gloria ha colui che ha fabbricata la casa, che la casa stessa.
4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.	4 Poichè ogni casa è fabbricata da alcuno; or colui che ha fabbricate tutte le cose è Dio.
5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,	5 E ben fu Mosè fedele in tutta la casa d’esso, come servitore, per testimoniar delle cose che si dovevano dire.
6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.	6 Ma Cristo è sopra la casa sua, come Figliuolo; e la sua casa siamo noi, se pur riteniamo ferma infino al fine la libertà, e il vanto della speranza
7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!	7 Perciò, come dice lo Spirito Santo:
8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,	8 Oggi, se udite la sua voce, non indurate i cuori vostri, come nella ribellione, nel giorno della tentazione, nel deserto;
9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do	9 dove i vostri padri mi tentarono, fecer prova di me, e videro le mie opere, lo spazio di quarant’anni.
10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'	10 Perciò, io mi recai a noia quella generazione, e dissi: Sempre errano del cuore; ed anche non hanno conosciute le mie vie;
11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.	11 talchè giurai nell’ira mia: Se giammai entrano nel mio riposo.
12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.	12 Guardate, fratelli, che talora non vi sia in alcun di voi un cuor malvagio d’incredulità, per ritrarvi dall’Iddio vivente.
13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,	13 Anzi esortatevi gli uni gli altri tuttodì, mentre è nominato quest’oggi, acciocchè niun di voi sia indurato per inganno del peccato.
14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.	14 Poichè noi siamo stati fatti partecipi di Cristo, se pur riteniamo fermo infino al fine il principio della nostra sussistenza.
15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,	15 Mentre ci è detto: Oggi, se udite la sua voce, non indurate i cuori vostri, come nel dì della ribellione.
16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.	16 Perciocchè chi, avendola udita, si ribellò? Non furono eglino già tutti quelli ch’erano usciti d’Egitto per opera di Mosè?
17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.	17 Ora, chi furon coloro ch’egli si recò a noia lo spazio di quarant’anni? non furono eglino coloro che peccarono, i cui corpi caddero nel deserto?
18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.	18 Ed a’ quali giurò egli che non entrerebbero nel suo riposo, se non a quelli che furono increduli?
19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.	19 E noi vediamo che per l’incredulità non vi poterono entrare
