Hebrews 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 That is why al you who are holy brothers and share the same heavenly cal should turn your minds toJesus, the apostle and the high priest of our profession of faith.	1 Por tanto, hermanos santos, partícipes de una vocación celestial, considerad al apóstol y Sumo Sacerdote de nuestra fe, a Jesús,
2 He was trustworthy to the one who appointed him, just like Moses, who remained trustworthy in all hishousehold;	2 que es fiel al que le instituyó, como lo fue también Moisés en toda su casa.
3 but he deserves a greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house is more honoured than thehouse itself.	3 Pues ha sido juzgado digno de una gloria en tanto superior a la de Moisés, en cuanto la dignidad del constructor de la casa supera a la casa misma.
4 Every house is built by someone, of course; but God built everything that exists.	4 Porque toda casa tiene su constructor; mas el constructor del universo es Dios.
5 It is true that Moses was trustworthy in the household of God, as a servant is, acting as witness to thethings which were yet to be revealed,	5 Ciertamente, Moisés fue fiel en toda su casa, como servidor, para atestiguar cuanto había de anunciarse,
6 but Christ is trustworthy as a son is, over his household. And we are his household, as long as wefearlessly maintain the hope in which we glory.	6 pero Cristo lo fue como hijo, al frente de su propia casa, que somos nosotros, si es que mantenemos la entereza y la gozosa satisfacción de la esperanza.
7 That is why, as the Holy Spirit says: If only you would listen to him today!	7 Por eso, como dice el Espíritu Santo: Si oís hoy su voz,
8 Do not harden your hearts, as at the rebel ion, as at the time of testing in the desert,	8 no endurezcáis vuestros corazones como en la Querella, el día de la provocación en el desierto,
9 when your ancestors chal enged me, and put me to the test, and saw what I could do	9 donde me provocaron vuestros padres y me pusieron a prueba, aun después de haber visto mis obras
10 for forty years. That was why that generation sickened me and I said, 'Always fickle hearts, thatcannot grasp my ways!'	10 durante cuarenta años. Por eso me irrité contra esa generación y dije: Andan siempre errados en su corazón; no conocieron mis caminos.
11 And then in my anger I swore that they would never enter my place of rest.	11 Por eso juré en mi cólera: ¡No entrarán en mi descanso!
12 Take care, brothers, that none of you ever has a wicked heart, so unbelieving as to turn away from theliving God.	12 ¡Mirad, hermanos!, que no haya en ninguno de vosotros un corazón maleado por la incredulidad que le haga apostatar de Dios vivo;
13 Every day, as long as this today lasts, keep encouraging one another so that none of you is hardenedby the lure of sin,	13 antes bien, exhortaos mutuamente cada día mientras dure este hoy, para que ninguno de vosotros se endurezca seducido por el pecado.
14 because we have been granted a share with Christ only if we keep the grasp of our first confidencefirm to the end.	14 Pues hemos venido a ser partícipes de Cristo, a condición de que mantengamos firme hasta el fin la segura confianza del principio.
15 In this saying: If only you would listen to him today; do not harden your hearts, as at the Rebel ion,	15 Al decir: Si oís hoy su voz, no endurezcáis vuestros corazones como en la Querella,
16 who was it who listened and then rebelled? Surely al those whom Moses led out of Egypt.	16 ¿quiénes son los que, habiéndole oído, le movieron querella? ¿Es que no fueron todos los que salieron de Egipto por medio de Moisés?
17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Surely with those who sinned and whose dead bodiesfel in the desert.	17 Y ¿contra quiénes se irritó durante cuarenta años? ¿No fue acaso contra los que pecaron, cuyos cadáveres cayeron en el desierto?
18 To whom did he swear they would never enter his place of rest? Surely those who would not believe.	18 Y ¿a quiénes juró que no entrarían en su descanso sino a los que desobedecieron?
19 So we see that it was their refusal to believe which prevented them from entering.	19 Así, vemos que no pudieron entrar a causa de su incredulidad.
