1 From Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus and from our brother Timothy; to our dear fel ow workerPhilemon,	1 Paolo prigioniero di Gesù Cristo, e il fratello Timoteo, a Filemone diletto, e nostro cooperatore,
2 our sister Apphia, our fellow soldier Archippus and the church that meets in your house.	2 E ad Appia sorella carissima, e ad Archippo nostro consoldato, e alla Chiesa, che è nella tua casa.
3 Grace and the peace of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	3 Grazia a voi, e pace da Dio Padre nostro, e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
4 I always thank my God, mentioning you in my prayers,	4 Rendo grazie al mio Dio, facendo sempre commemorazione di te nelle mie orazioni,
5 because I hear of the love and the faith which you have for the Lord Jesus and for al God's holypeople.	5 Sentendo (qual sia) la tua carità, e la fede, che tu hai nel Signor Gesù, e Terso di tutti i santi:
6 I pray that your fel owship in faith may come to expression in ful knowledge of all the good we can dofor Christ.	6 Di modo che evidente si è il partecipare che tu fai alla fede dal conoscersi tutte le buone opere, che sono in voi per Gesù Cristo.
7 I have received much joy and encouragement by your love; you have set the hearts of God's holypeople at rest.	7 Imperocché grande allegrezza ho avuto, e consolazione della tua carità; perché le viscere de' santi sono state da te rifocillate, o fratello,
8 Therefore, although in Christ I have no hesitations about telling you what your duty is,	8 Per la qual cosa avendo io molta fidanza in Gesù Cristo per comandarti quel che conviene:
9 I am rather appealing to your love, being what I am, Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner ofChrist Jesus.	9 Ti prego piuttosto per la carità, tale essendo tu, quale io Paolo vecchio, ora poi anche prigioniero di Gesù Cristo:
10 I am appealing to you for a child of mine, whose father I became while wearing these chains: I meanOnesimus.	10 Ti scongiuro per lo mio figliuolo, cui ho io generato tralle catene, Onesimo,
11 He was of no use to you before, but now he is useful both to you and to me.	11 Il quale una volta fu disutile per te, ora poi è utile e per me, e per te,
12 I am sending him back to you -- that is to say, sending you my own heart.	12 Il quale io ho rimandato a te. E tu accoglilo, come mie viscere:
13 I should have liked to keep him with me; he could have been a substitute for you, to help me while Iam in the chains that the gospel has brought me.	13 Il quale io bramava di ritener con me, perchè mi servisse in luogo di te tralle catene del vangelo:
14 However, I did not want to do anything without your consent; it would have been forcing your act ofkindness, which should be spontaneous.	14 Ma nulla ho volato fare senza il tuo parere, affinchè non fosse quasi forzato, ma volontario il beneficio tuo.
15 I suppose you have been deprived of Onesimus for a time, merely so that you could have him backfor ever,	15 Imperocché forse per questo si è allontanato per brev' ora da te, affinchè tu lo ricuperassi per l'eternità:
16 no longer as a slave, but something much better than a slave, a dear brother; especial y dear to me,but how much more to you, both on the natural plane and in the Lord.	16 Non più come servo, ma in cambio di servo fratello carissimo, massimamente a me: e quanto più a te, e secondo la carne, e secondo il Signore?
17 So if you grant me any fel owship with yourself, welcome him as you would me;	17 Se adunque tieni me per tuo intrinseco, accoglilo, come me:
18 if he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, put it down to my account.	18 Che se in qualche cosa ti ha fatto danno, od egli è a te debitore; scrivi ciò a conto mio.
19 I am writing this in my own hand: I, Paul, shal pay it back -- I make no mention of a further debt, thatyou owe your very self to me!	19 Io Paolo ho scritto di pugno: io soddisfarò, per non dirti, che tu devi a me anche te stesso:
20 Wel then, brother, I am counting on you, in the Lord; set my heart at rest, in Christ.	20 Si, o fratello. Ricavi io da te questo frutto nel Signore: ristora le mie viscere nel Signore.
21 I am writing with complete confidence in your compliance, sure that you wil do even more than I ask.	21 Affidato alla tua ubbidienza ti ho scrìtto: sapendo, che farai anche più di quello, ch'io dico.
22 There is another thing: wil you get a place ready for me to stay in? I am hoping through your prayersto be restored to you.	22 Insiememente ancora preparami l'ospizio: imperocché spero, che me diante le vostre orazioni sarò donato a voi.
23 Epaphras, a prisoner with me in Christ Jesus, sends his greetings;	23 Ti saluta Epafra compagno della, mia prigionia per Cristo Gesù,
24 so do my fellow-workers Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke.	24 Marco, Aristarco, Demade, e Luca, miei ajuti.
25 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.	25 La grazia del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo col vostro spirito. Cosi sia.
