2 Timothy 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 As for you, my dear son, take strength from the grace which is in Christ Jesus.	1 فتقوّ انت يا ابني بالنعمة التي في المسيح يسوع.
2 Pass on to reliable people what you have heard from me through many witnesses so that they in turn wilbe able to teach others.	2 وما سمعته مني بشهود كثيرين اودعه اناسا امناء يكونون اكفاء ان يعلّموا آخرين ايضا.
3 Bear with your share of difficulties, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.	3 فاشترك انت في احتمال المشقات كجندي صالح ليسوع المسيح.
4 No one on active service involves himself in the affairs of civilian life, because he must win the approvalof the man who enlisted him;	4 ليس احد وهو يتجند يرتبك باعمال الحياة لكي يرضي من جنّده.
5 or again someone who enters an athletic contest wins only by competing in the sports -- a prize can bewon only by competing according to the rules;	5 وايضا ان كان احد يجاهد لا يكلّل ان لم يجاهد قانونيا.
6 and again, it is the farmer who works hard that has the first claim on any crop that is harvested.	6 يجب ان الحرّاث الذي يتعب يشترك هو اولا في الاثمار.
7 Think over what I have said, and the Lord wil give you ful understanding.	7 افهم ما اقول. فليعطك الرب فهما في كل شيء.
8 Remember the gospel that I carry, 'Jesus Christ risen from the dead, sprung from the race of David';	8 اذكر يسوع المسيح المقام من الاموات من نسل داود بحسب انجيلي
9 it is on account of this that I have to put up with suffering, even to being chained like a criminal. ButGod's message cannot be chained up.	9 الذي فيه احتمل المشقات حتى القيود كمذنب. لكن كلمة الله لا تقيّد.
10 So I persevere for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they, too, may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.	10 لاجل ذلك انا اصبر على كل شيء لاجل المختارين لكي يحصلوا هم ايضا على الخلاص الذي في المسيح يسوع مع مجد ابدي.
11 Here is a saying that you can rely on: If we have died with him, then we shal live with him.	11 صادقة هي الكلمة انه ان كنا قد متنا معه فسنحيا ايضا معه.
12 If we persevere, then we shal reign with him. If we disown him, then he wil disown us.	12 ان كنا نصبر فسنملك ايضا معه. ان كنا ننكره فهو ايضا سينكرنا.
13 If we are faithless, he is faithful still, for he cannot disown his own self.	13 ان كنا غير امناء فهو يبقى امينا لن يقدر ان ينكر نفسه
14 Remind them of this; and tell them in the name of God that there must be no wrangling about words: althat this ever achieves is the destruction of those who are listening.	14 فكّر بهذه الامور مناشدا قدام الرب ان لا يتماحكوا بالكلام. الامر غير النافع لشيء. لهدم السامعين.
15 Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who has no need to be ashamed,but who keeps the message of truth on a straight path.	15 اجتهد ان تقيم نفسك للّه مزكّى عاملا لا يخزى مفصّلا كلمة الحق بالاستقامة.
16 Have nothing to do with godless philosophical discussions -- they only lead further and further awayfrom true religion.	16 واما الاقوال الباطلة الدنسة فاجتنبها لانهم يتقدمون الى اكثر فجور.
17 Talk of this kind spreads corruption like gangrene, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus,	17 وكلمتهم ترعى كآكلة. الذين منهم هيمينايس وفيليتس
18 the men who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that the resurrection has already taken place.They are upsetting some people's faith.	18 اللذان زاغا عن الحق قائلين ان القيامة قد صارت فيقلبان ايمان قوم.
19 However, God's solid foundation-stone stands firm, and this is the seal on it: 'The Lord knows thosewho are his own' and 'Al who cal on the name of the Lord must avoid evil.'	19 ولكن اساس الله الراسخ قد ثبت اذ له هذا الختم. يعلم الرب الذين هم له. وليتجنب الاثم كل من يسمّي اسم المسيح.
20 Not al the dishes in a large house are made of gold and silver; some are made of wood orearthenware: the former are held in honour, the latter held cheap.	20 ولكن في بيت كبير ليس آنية من ذهب وفضة فقط بل من خشب وخزف ايضا وتلك للكرامة وهذه للهوان.
21 If someone holds himself aloof from these faults I speak of, he wil be a vessel held in honour,dedicated and fit for the Master, ready for any good work.	21 فان طهّر احد نفسه من هذه يكون اناء للكرامة مقدسا نافعا للسيد مستعدا لكل عمل صالح
22 Turn away from the passions of youth, concentrate on uprightness, faith, love and peace, in union withal those who cal on the Lord with a pure heart.	22 اما الشهوات الشبابية فاهرب منها واتبع البر والايمان والمحبة والسلام مع الذين يدعون الرب من قلب نقي.
23 Avoid these foolish and undisciplined speculations, understanding that they only give rise to quarrels;	23 والمباحثات الغبية والسخيفة اجتنبها عالما انها تولّد خصومات.
24 and a servant of the Lord must not engage in quarrels, but must be kind to everyone, a good teacher,and patient.	24 وعبد الرب لا يجب ان يخاصم بل يكون مترفقا بالجميع صالحا للتعليم صبورا على المشقات
25 He must be gentle when he corrects people who oppose him, in the hope that God may give them achange of mind so that they recognise the truth	25 مؤدبا بالوداعة المقاومين عسى ان يعطيهم الله توبة لمعرفة الحق
26 and come to their senses, escaping the trap of the devil who made them his captives and subjectedthem to his will.	26 فيستفيقوا من فخ ابليس اذ قد اقتنصهم لارادته
