2 Timothy 2

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 As for you, my dear son, take strength from the grace which is in Christ Jesus.	1 Fiam, légy tehát erős a Jézus Krisztusban levő kegyelem által,
2 Pass on to reliable people what you have heard from me through many witnesses so that they in turn wilbe able to teach others.	2 és amit tőlem számos tanú által megerősítve hallottál, bízd azt hűséges, mások tanítására is alkalmas emberekre.
3 Bear with your share of difficulties, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.	3 Fáradozz, mint Krisztus Jézus jó katonája.
4 No one on active service involves himself in the affairs of civilian life, because he must win the approvalof the man who enlisted him;	4 Aki Istenért harcol, nem bocsátkozik világi dolgokba, mert annak akar tetszeni, akihez szegődött.
5 or again someone who enters an athletic contest wins only by competing in the sports -- a prize can bewon only by competing according to the rules;	5 A versenyző is csak akkor nyer koszorút, ha szabályszerűen versenyez.
6 and again, it is the farmer who works hard that has the first claim on any crop that is harvested.	6 A termésből elsősorban a fáradozó földművest illeti a részesedés.
7 Think over what I have said, and the Lord wil give you ful understanding.	7 Értsd meg, amit mondok: az Úr megadja majd neked, hogy mindent megérts!
8 Remember the gospel that I carry, 'Jesus Christ risen from the dead, sprung from the race of David';	8 Gondolj Jézus Krisztusra, Dávid sarjára, aki feltámadt a halottak közül, mint ahogy hirdeti az én evangéliumom,
9 it is on account of this that I have to put up with suffering, even to being chained like a criminal. ButGod's message cannot be chained up.	9 amelyért a bilincseket is beleértve úgy szenvedek, mint egy gonosztevő. De Isten igéje nincs megbilincselve.
10 So I persevere for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they, too, may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.	10 Mindent elviselek tehát a választottakért, hogy ők is elnyerjék a Krisztus Jézusban levő üdvösséget, az örök dicsőséggel együtt.
11 Here is a saying that you can rely on: If we have died with him, then we shal live with him.	11 Igaz beszéd ez: ha vele együtt meghalunk, vele együtt élni is fogunk;
12 If we persevere, then we shal reign with him. If we disown him, then he wil disown us.	12 ha vele együtt szenvedünk, vele együtt uralkodni is fogunk. Ha megtagadjuk őt, ő is megtagad minket,
13 If we are faithless, he is faithful still, for he cannot disown his own self.	13 de ha hűtlenek leszünk, ő hű marad, mert önmagát meg nem tagadhatja.
14 Remind them of this; and tell them in the name of God that there must be no wrangling about words: althat this ever achieves is the destruction of those who are listening.	14 Erre figyelmeztess, kérve kérj mindenkit Istenre. Szóvitát ne folytass; nem jó az semmire, csak a hallgatóság romlására.
15 Make every effort to present yourself before God as a proven worker who has no need to be ashamed,but who keeps the message of truth on a straight path.	15 Azon légy tehát, hogy derék embernek bizonyulj az Úr előtt, olyan munkásnak, aki meg nem szégyenül, s aki helyesen munkálja az igazság igéjét.
16 Have nothing to do with godless philosophical discussions -- they only lead further and further awayfrom true religion.	16 A gonosz, üres fecsegéseket viszont kerüld, mert azok jobbára istentelenséghez vezetnek.
17 Talk of this kind spreads corruption like gangrene, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus,	17 Az ilyen emberek fecsegése úgy terjed, mint a rákfene. Ezek közül való Himéneosz és Filétosz is,
18 the men who have gone astray from the truth, claiming that the resurrection has already taken place.They are upsetting some people's faith.	18 akik eltévelyedtek az igazságtól, azt állítva, hogy a feltámadás már megtörtént – és jó néhány ember hitét feldúlják.
19 However, God's solid foundation-stone stands firm, and this is the seal on it: 'The Lord knows thosewho are his own' and 'Al who cal on the name of the Lord must avoid evil.'	19 De a szilárd alap, amelyet Isten lefektetett, rendületlenül áll, és ez a pecsétje: »Ismeri az Úr az övéit« , továbbá: »Hagyjon fel a gonoszsággal mindaz, aki az Úr nevét hívja segítségül!«
20 Not al the dishes in a large house are made of gold and silver; some are made of wood orearthenware: the former are held in honour, the latter held cheap.	20 De egy nagy házban nemcsak arany- és ezüstedények vannak, hanem fából és agyagból valók is; az előbbiek tisztességes, az utóbbiak pedig közönséges célokra.
21 If someone holds himself aloof from these faults I speak of, he wil be a vessel held in honour,dedicated and fit for the Master, ready for any good work.	21 Aki magát az utóbbiaktól tisztán tartja, az tisztességes célra való, szent, az Úr számára hasznos, minden jó dologra alkalmas edény lesz.
22 Turn away from the passions of youth, concentrate on uprightness, faith, love and peace, in union withal those who cal on the Lord with a pure heart.	22 Kerüld az ifjúkor vágyait! Igazságosságra, hitre, szeretetre és békességre törekedj azokkal, akik tiszta szívvel hívják segítségül az Urat.
23 Avoid these foolish and undisciplined speculations, understanding that they only give rise to quarrels;	23 Az oktalan és zabolátlan vitákat kerüld, tudva, hogy viszályokat szülnek.
24 and a servant of the Lord must not engage in quarrels, but must be kind to everyone, a good teacher,and patient.	24 Márpedig az Úr szolgájának nem veszekednie kell, hanem mindenkihez jóságosnak, tanításra alkalmasnak és béketűrőnek kell lennie.
25 He must be gentle when he corrects people who oppose him, in the hope that God may give them achange of mind so that they recognise the truth	25 Azokat pedig, akik ellenszegülnek neki, szelídséggel meg kell feddenie, hátha egyszer töredelmet ad nekik is Isten az igazság megismerésére,
26 and come to their senses, escaping the trap of the devil who made them his captives and subjectedthem to his will.	26 és magukhoz térnek az ördög kelepcéjéből, aki fogva tartja őket a maga kedvére.
