Joshua 13

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Now Joshua had grown old and advanced in years. Yahweh said to him, 'You are now old andadvanced in years, yet there is stil a great deal of territory left to be taken possession of.	1 ORA, quando Giosuè fu diventato vecchio ed attempato, il Signore disse: Tu sei diventato vecchio ed attempato, e vi resta ancora molto gran paese a conquistare.
2 This is al the territory left: 'Al the districts of the Philistines and the whole country of the Geshurites;	2 Quest’è il paese che resta: tutte le contrade de’ Filistei, e tutto il paese de’ Ghesuriti;
3 from the Shihor, facing Egypt, to the frontier of Ekron in the north, is reckoned as Canaanite territory.The five rulers of the Philistines have their seats at Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron, respectively; theAvvites are in	3 da Sihor, che è a fronte all’Egitto, fino a’ confini di Ecron, verso Settentrione, il paese è riputato de’ Cananei; cioè: i cinque principati de’ Filistei, quel di Gaza, quel di Asdod, quel di Ascalon, quel di Gat, e quel di Ecron, e gli Avvei;
4 the south. The entire territory of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongs to the Sidonians, as far asAphekah and as far as the frontier of the Amorites;	4 dal Mezzodì, tutto il paese de’ Cananei, e Meara, che è de’ Sidonii, fino ad Afec, fino a’ confini degli Amorrei;
5 and then the country of the Gebalites with the entire Lebanon eastwards from Baal-Gad at the foot ofMount Hermon to the Pass of Hamath.	5 e il paese de’ Ghiblei, e tutto il Libano, dal Sol levante, da Baal-gad, che è sotto il monte di Hermon, fino all’entrata di Hamat;
6 'All who live in the highlands from the Lebanon to Misrephoth in the west -- al the Sidonians -- I myselfshall dispossess before the Israelites. Al you have to do is to distribute the territory as a heritage for theIsraelites as I have ordered you.	6 tutti gli abitanti del monte, dal Libano fino alle Acque calde; e tutti i Sidonii. Io li caccerò dal cospetto dei figliuoli d’Israele; spartisci pur questo paese a sorte ad Israele per eredità, come io t’ho comandato
7 The time has come to divide this territory as a heritage between the nine tribes and the half-tribe ofManasseh: from the Jordan as far as the Great Sea in the west, you must give it them; the Great Sea wil betheir limit.'	7 Ora dunque spartisci questo paese a nove tribù, e alla metà della tribù di Manasse, in eredità.
8 As regards the other half-tribe of Manasseh, this and the Reubenites and Gadites had already receivedtheir heritage, given them by Moses on the further, eastern side of the Jordan, the one which Moses, servant ofYahweh, had already given them:	8 I Rubeniti, e i Gaditi, con l’altra metà della tribù di Manasse, hanno ricevuta la loro eredità, la quale Mosè ha data loro, di là dal Giordano, verso Oriente; secondo che Mosè, servitor del Signore, l’ha data loro;
9 The country onwards from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Val ey, with the town in the bottom of theval ey and the entire tableland from Medeba to Dibon;	9 da Aroer, che è in sulla riva del torrente di Arnon, e la città che è in mezzo del torrente, e tutta la pianura di Medeba, fino a Dibon;
10 al the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reigned in Heshbon, to the frontier of theAmmonites;	10 e tutte le città di Sihon, re degli Amorrei, il qual regnò in Hesbon, fino a’ confini dei figliuoli di Ammon;
11 then Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites with the whole Hermon range and thewhole of Bashan as far as Salecah;	11 e Galaad, e le contrade de’ Ghesuriti, e de’ Maacatiti, e tutto il monte di Hermon, e tutto Basan, fino a Salca;
12 and in Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, and was the lastof the survivors of the Rephaim. Moses had conquered and dispossessed these two kings.	12 tutto il regno d’Og in Basan, il qual regnò in Astarot, e in Edrei, ed era restato del rimanente dei Rafei; Mosè percosse questi re, e li scacciò.
13 The Israelites did not, however, dispossess either the Geshurites or the Maacathites, hence Geshurand Maacah survive inside Israel even today.	13 Or i figliuoli d’Israele non cacciarono i Ghesuriti, nè i Maacatiti; anzi i Ghesuriti ed i Maacatiti son dimorati per mezzo Israele fino al dì d’oggi.
14 To the tribe of Levi alone no heritage was given; Yahweh, God of Israel, was his heritage, as he hadtold him.	14 Solo alla tribù di Levi Mosè non diede alcuna eredità; i sacrificii da ardere del Signore Iddio d’Israele son la sua eredità, come egli ne ha parlato.
15 Moses had given the tribe of the sons of Reuben a share by clans.	15 Mosè adunque diede eredità alla tribù de’ figliuoli di Ruben, secondo le lor nazioni.
16 Thus, their territory was the entire tableland from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Val ey, with the townin the bottom of the val ey, as far as Medeba,	16 E i lor confini furono da Aroer, che è in su la riva del torrente di Arnon, e la città che è in mezzo del torrente, e tutta la pianura fino a Medeba;
17 Heshbon with all the towns on the tableland: Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Meon,	17 Hesbon, e tutte le sue città che son nella pianura; Dibon, e Bamot-baal, e Bet-baal-meon;
18 Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,	18 e Iasa, e Chedemot, e Mefaat;
19 Kiriathaim, Sibmah and, in the highlands of the Arabah, Zereth-Shahar;	19 e Chiriataim, e Sibma, e Seret-sahar, nel monte della valle;
20 Beth-Peor, the watered foothills of Mount Pisgah, Beth-ha-Jeshimoth,	20 e Bet-peor, e Asdot-pisga, e Bet-iesimot;
21 al the towns on the tableland and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reignedin Heshbon; he had been defeated by Moses, and with him the princes of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur andReba, vassals of Sihon, formerly living in the country.	21 e tutte le città della pianura, e tutto il regno di Sihon, re degli Amorrei, che avea regnato in Hesbon, il qual Mosè percosse, insieme co’ principi di Madian, Evi, e Rechem, e Sur, e Hur, e Reba, ch’erano principi vassalli di Sihon, e abitavano nel paese.
22 As regards Balaam son of Beor, the soothsayer, the Israelites had put him to the sword with thosewhom they had kil ed.	22 I figliuoli d’Israele uccisero ancora con la spada Balaam, figliuolo di Beor, indovino, insieme con gli altri uccisi d’infra i Madianiti.
23 The boundary of the Reubenites was the Jordan and its territory. Such was the heritage of the sons ofReuben, by clans, with the towns and vil ages belonging to them.	23 E i confini de’ figliuoli di Ruben furono il Giordano e i confini. Questa fu l’eredità de’ figliuoli di Ruben, secondo le lor nazioni, cioè: quelle città e le lor villate.
24 Moses had given the tribe of Gad, the sons of Gad, a share by clans.	24 Mosè diede ancora eredità alla tribù di Gad, a’ figliuoli di Gad, secondo le lor nazioni.
25 Their territory was Jazer, al the towns of Gilead, half the country of the Ammonites as far as Aroerfacing Rabbah,	25 E la lor contrada fu Iaser, e tutte le città di Galaad, e la metà del paese de’ figliuoli di Ammon, fino ad Aroer, che è a fronte a Rabba;
26 and from Heshbon to Ramath-Mizpeh and Betonim; from Mahanaim as far as the territory of Lo-Debar,	26 e da Hesbon fino a Ramatmispe, e Betonim; e da Mahanaim fino a’ confini di Debir;
27 and in the val ey: Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon -- the rest of the kingdom of Sihonking of Heshbon -- the Jordan and the territory running to the tip of the Sea of Chinneroth, on the further, easternside of the Jordan.	27 e nella valle, Bet-haram, e Bet-nimra, e Succot, e Safon, il rimanente del regno di Sihon, re di Hesbon; lungo il Giordano e i confini, infino all’estremità del mare di Chinneret, di là dal Giordano, verso Oriente.
28 Such was the heritage of the sons of Gad, by clans, with their towns and vil ages belonging to them.	28 Questa fu l’eredità dei figliuoli di Gad, secondo le lor nazioni, cioè: quelle città e le lor villate.
29 Moses had given the half-tribe of Manasseh a share by clans.	29 Mosè diede ancora eredità alla metà della tribù di Manasse: quella fu per la metà della tribù de’ figliuoli di Manasse, secondo le lor nazioni.
30 Their territory, starting from Mahanaim, was the whole of Bashan, the entire kingdom of Og king ofBashan, all the Encampments of Jair in Bashan: sixty towns.	30 La lor contrada fu da Mahanaim, tutto Basan, tutto il regno d’Og, re di Basan, e tutte le villate di Iair, che sono in Basan, che sono sessanta terre;
31 Half of Gilead, with Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan, were al otted to the sons ofMachir son of Manasseh, to half of the sons of Machir, by clans.	31 e la metà di Galaad, e Astarot, ed Edrei, città del regno d’Og, in Basan. Tutto ciò fu dato a’ figliuoli di Machir, figliuolo di Manasse, cioè: alla metà de’ figliuoli di Machir, secondo le lor nazioni.
32 This was what Moses had conferred in heritage on the Plains of Moab on the further, eastern side ofthe Jordan opposite Jericho.	32 Queste son le contrade che Mosè diede per eredità, nelle campagne di Moab, di là dal Giordano di Gerico, verso Oriente.
33 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses gave no heritage; Yahweh, God of Israel, was his heritage, ashe had told him.	33 Ma egli non diede alcuna eredità ai figliuoli di Levi; il Signore Iddio d’Israele è la loro eredità, come egli ne ha lor parlato
