Joshua 13

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Now Joshua had grown old and advanced in years. Yahweh said to him, 'You are now old andadvanced in years, yet there is stil a great deal of territory left to be taken possession of.	1 Cuando Josué ya era de edad muy avanzada, el Señor le dijo: «Tú eres un anciano muy entrado en años, y todavía queda por conquistar una gran parte del país.
2 This is al the territory left: 'Al the districts of the Philistines and the whole country of the Geshurites;	2 El territorio que falta conquistar es el siguiente: todos los distritos de los filisteos y todo el país de los guesuritas,
3 from the Shihor, facing Egypt, to the frontier of Ekron in the north, is reckoned as Canaanite territory.The five rulers of the Philistines have their seats at Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron, respectively; theAvvites are in	3 o sea, desde el Sijor, que está sobre la frontera de Egipto, hasta el límite de Ecrón por el norte. Esta región se considera como perteneciente a los cananeos. Allí están los cinco príncipes de los filisteos –el de Gaza, el de Asdod, el de Ascalón, el de Gat y el de Ecrón– y también los avitas,
4 the south. The entire territory of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongs to the Sidonians, as far asAphekah and as far as the frontier of the Amorites;	4 que están al sur. Además queda todo el país de los cananeos, desde Ará de los sidonios hasta Afec y hasta la frontera de los amorreos.
5 and then the country of the Gebalites with the entire Lebanon eastwards from Baal-Gad at the foot ofMount Hermon to the Pass of Hamath.	5 Y por último, el país de los guiblitas con todo el Líbano hacia oriente, desde Baal Gad, que está al pie del monte Hermón, hasta la Entrada de Jamat.
6 'All who live in the highlands from the Lebanon to Misrephoth in the west -- al the Sidonians -- I myselfshall dispossess before the Israelites. Al you have to do is to distribute the territory as a heritage for theIsraelites as I have ordered you.	6 Yo expulsaré delante de los israelitas a todos los habitantes de la Montaña, desde el Líbano hasta Misrefot Maim, y a todos los sidonios. Tú, por tu parte, distribuye el país entre los israelitas mediante un sorteo, para que lo posean como herencia, según te lo he ordenado.
7 The time has come to divide this territory as a heritage between the nine tribes and the half-tribe ofManasseh: from the Jordan as far as the Great Sea in the west, you must give it them; the Great Sea wil betheir limit.'	7 Sí, ya es hora de que repartas este país entre las nueve tribus y media, para que lo posean como herencia. Porque la mitad de la tribu de Manasés,
8 As regards the other half-tribe of Manasseh, this and the Reubenites and Gadites had already receivedtheir heritage, given them by Moses on the further, eastern side of the Jordan, the one which Moses, servant ofYahweh, had already given them:	8 lo mismo que los rubenitas y los gaditas, ya han recibido la herencia que les dio Moisés en el lado oriental del Jordán».
9 The country onwards from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Val ey, with the town in the bottom of theval ey and the entire tableland from Medeba to Dibon;	9 el territorio que va desde Aroer, a orillas del torrente Arnón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle; todo el altiplano, desde Medbá hasta Dibón,
10 al the towns of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reigned in Heshbon, to the frontier of theAmmonites;	10 y todas las ciudades de Sijón –el rey de los amorreos que había reinado en Jesbón– hasta la frontera de los amonitas.
11 then Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites with the whole Hermon range and thewhole of Bashan as far as Salecah;	11 Además, les había asignado Galaad y el territorio de los guesuritas y de los maacatitas, con toda la montaña del Hermón y todo Basán hasta Salcá.
12 and in Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei, and was the lastof the survivors of the Rephaim. Moses had conquered and dispossessed these two kings.	12 Y en Basán, todo el territorio de Og –que había reinado en Astarot y Edrei, y era uno de los últimos sobrevivientes de los Gigantes– a quien Moisés venció y despojó de sus dominios.
13 The Israelites did not, however, dispossess either the Geshurites or the Maacathites, hence Geshurand Maacah survive inside Israel even today.	13 Pero los israelitas no expulsaron a los guesuritas y a los maacatitas, que por eso continúan viviendo en medio de Israel hasta el día de hoy.
14 To the tribe of Levi alone no heritage was given; Yahweh, God of Israel, was his heritage, as he hadtold him.	14 A la tribu de Leví, en cambio, Moisés no le asignó ninguna herencia: las ofrendas hechas al Señor, el Dios de Israel, son su herencia, como él mismo se lo había declarado.
15 Moses had given the tribe of the sons of Reuben a share by clans.	15 Moisés ya había dado una parte a los clanes de la tribu de los rubenitas.
16 Thus, their territory was the entire tableland from Aroer on the edge of the Arnon Val ey, with the townin the bottom of the val ey, as far as Medeba,	16 A ellos les tocó el territorio que sale de Aroer, a orillas del torrente Arnón, con la ciudad que está en medio del valle; todo el altiplano en dirección a Medbá,
17 Heshbon with all the towns on the tableland: Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Meon,	17 hasta llegar a Jesbón, y todas las ciudades del altiplano: Dibón, Bamot Baal, Bet Baal Meón,
18 Jahaz, Kedemoth, Mephaath,	18 Iajsá, Quedemot, Mefaat,
19 Kiriathaim, Sibmah and, in the highlands of the Arabah, Zereth-Shahar;	19 Quiriataim, Sibmá, Séret Ha Sájar en la montaña que da sobre el valle,
20 Beth-Peor, the watered foothills of Mount Pisgah, Beth-ha-Jeshimoth,	20 Bet Peor, las pendientes del Pisgá y Bet Ha Iesimot.
21 al the towns on the tableland and the entire kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had reignedin Heshbon; he had been defeated by Moses, and with him the princes of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur andReba, vassals of Sihon, formerly living in the country.	21 Todas las ciudades del altiplano habían pertenecido a Sijón, el rey de los amorreos que reinaba en Jesbón, y al que Moisés había derrotado, lo mismo que a los principes de Madián: Evi, Réquem, Sur, Jur y Reba, vasallos de Sijón que habitaban en aquel país.
22 As regards Balaam son of Beor, the soothsayer, the Israelites had put him to the sword with thosewhom they had kil ed.	22 Asimismo, los israelitas habían pasado al filo de la espada al adivino Balaam, hijo de Beor, junto con las otras víctimas.
23 The boundary of the Reubenites was the Jordan and its territory. Such was the heritage of the sons ofReuben, by clans, with the towns and vil ages belonging to them.	23 La ribera del Jordán servía de límite a los rubenitas. Esta fue la herencia asignada a los clanes de los rubenitas: las ciudades y sus poblados.
24 Moses had given the tribe of Gad, the sons of Gad, a share by clans.	24 Moisés también había dado una parte a los clanes de los gaditas.
25 Their territory was Jazer, al the towns of Gilead, half the country of the Ammonites as far as Aroerfacing Rabbah,	25 Su territorio comprendía Iázer, todas las ciudades de Galaad y la mitad del país de los amonitas, hasta Aroer, que está enfrente de Rabbá.
26 and from Heshbon to Ramath-Mizpeh and Betonim; from Mahanaim as far as the territory of Lo-Debar,	26 Además, desde Jesbón hasta Ramat Ha Mispá y Betoním, y desde Majanaim hasta el territorio de Lo Debar.
27 and in the val ey: Beth-Haram, Beth-Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon -- the rest of the kingdom of Sihonking of Heshbon -- the Jordan and the territory running to the tip of the Sea of Chinneroth, on the further, easternside of the Jordan.	27 Y en el valle, Bet Jaram, Bet Mimrá, Sucot y Safón, el resto del reino de Sijón, rey de Jesbón. Y el lado oriental del Jordán, hasta el extremo del mar de Genesaret, les servía de límite.
28 Such was the heritage of the sons of Gad, by clans, with their towns and vil ages belonging to them.	28 Esta fue la herencia de los clanes de los gaditas: las ciudades y sus poblados.
29 Moses had given the half-tribe of Manasseh a share by clans.	29 Moisés también había dado una parte a los clanes de la mitad de la tribu de Manasés.
30 Their territory, starting from Mahanaim, was the whole of Bashan, the entire kingdom of Og king ofBashan, all the Encampments of Jair in Bashan: sixty towns.	30 Su territorio, partiendo de Majanaim, comprendía todo Basán, y todas las poblaciones de Iair, en Basán: en total, sesenta ciudades.
31 Half of Gilead, with Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan, were al otted to the sons ofMachir son of Manasseh, to half of the sons of Machir, by clans.	31 La mitad de Galaad, Astarot y Edrei, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán, pasaron a los clanes de los hijos de Maquir, hijo de Manasés.
32 This was what Moses had conferred in heritage on the Plains of Moab on the further, eastern side ofthe Jordan opposite Jericho.	32 Este fue el reparto que hizo Moisés en las Estepas de Moab, al otro lado del Jordán, al este de Jericó.
33 To the tribe of Levi, however, Moses gave no heritage; Yahweh, God of Israel, was his heritage, ashe had told him.	33 Pero Moisés no asignó ninguna herencia a la tribu de Leví, porque el Señor, el Dios de Israel, es su herencia, como él mismo se lo había declarado.
