1 Since you have been raised up to be with Christ, you must look for the things that are above, whereChrist is, sitting at God's right hand.	1 Se adunque siete risuscitati con Cristo, cercate le cose di lassù, dove è Cristo sedente alla destra di Dio:
2 Let your thoughts be on things above, not on the things that are on the earth,	2 Abbiate pensiero delle cose di lassù, non di quelle della terra.
3 because you have died, and now the life you have is hidden with Christ in God.	3 Imperocché siete morti, e la vostra vita è ascosa con Cristo in Dio.
4 But when Christ is revealed -- and he is your life-you, too, wil be revealed with him in glory.	4 Quando Cristo, vostra vita, comparirà; allora anche voi comparirete con lui nella gloria.
5 That is why you must kill everything in you that is earthly: sexual vice, impurity, uncontrol ed passion,evil desires and especially greed, which is the same thing as worshipping a false god;	5 Mortificate adunque le vostre membra terrene: la fornicazione, l'immondezza, la libidine, la prava concupiscenza, e l'avarizia, che o una idolatria:
6 it is precisely these things which draw God's retribution upon those who resist.	6 Per le quali cose cade l'ira di Dio sopra gl'increduli:
7 And these things made up your way of life when you were living among such people,	7 Tralle quali cose camminaste anche una volta, mentre in esse impiegaste la vostra vita.
8 but now you also must give up al these things: human anger, hot temper, malice, abusive language anddirty talk;	8 Ora poi rigettate anche voi tutto questo: l'ira, l'amarezza, la malizia,la maldicenza, gli osceni discorsi dalla vostra bocca.
9 and do not lie to each other. You have stripped off your old behaviour with your old self,	9 Non usate bugia l'uno verso dell'altro, essendovi spogliati dell'uomo vecchio, e di tutte le opere di lui,
10 and you have put on a new self which will progress towards true knowledge the more it is renewed inthe image of its Creator;	10 Ed essendovi rivestiti del nuovo, di quello, il quale si rinnovella a conoscimento, secondo l'immagine di colui, che lo creò:
11 and in that image there is no room for distinction between Greek and Jew, between the circumcisedand uncircumcised, or between barbarian and Scythian, slave and free. There is only Christ: he is everythingand he is in everything.	11 Dove non è Greco, e Giudeo, circonciso, e incirconciso. Barbaro, e Scita, servo, e libero: ma Cristo (è) ogni cosa, ed è in tutti.
12 As the chosen of God, then, the holy people whom he loves, you are to be clothed in heartfeltcompassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and patience.	12 Rivestitevi adunque, come eletti di Dio, santi, ed amati, di viscere di misericordia, di benignità, di umiltà, di modestia, di pazienza:
13 Bear with one another; forgive each other if one of you has a complaint against another. The Lord hasforgiven you; now you must do the same.	13 Sopportandovi, gli uni gli altri, e perdonandovi scambievolmente, ove alcuno abbia da dolersi d'un altro: conforme anche il Signore a voi perdonò, così anche voi.
14 Over al these clothes, put on love, the perfect bond.	14 E sopra tutte queste cose conservate la carità, la quale è il vincolo della perfezione.
15 And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were cal ed together inone body. Always be thankful.	15 E la pace di Dio trionfi ne' vostri cuori, alla quale siete anche stati chiamati per (fare) un sol corpo: e siate riconoscenti.
16 Let the Word of Christ, in al its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise eachother, in al wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God;	16 La parola di Cristo abiti in voi con pienezza, in ogni sapienza, instruendovi tra di voi e ammonendovi per mezzo di salmi, d'inni, e di canzoni spirituali, cantando per gratitudine a Dio ne' vostri cuori.
17 and whatever you say or do, let it be in the name of the Lord Jesus, in thanksgiving to God the Fatherthrough him.	17 Qualunque cosa o diciate, o facciate, tutto nel nome del Signor Gesù, Cristo, rendendo per lui grazie a Dio e Padre.
18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as you should in the Lord.	18 Donne, siate soggette ai mariti come si conviene, nel Signore.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be sharp with them.	19 Mariti, amate le vostre mogli, e non usate acerbezza verso di esse.
20 Children, be obedient to your parents always, because that is what will please the Lord.	20 Figliuoli, siate ubbidienti in tutto ai genitori: imperocché cosi piace al Signore.
21 Parents, do not irritate your children or they will lose heart.	21 Genitori, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli, perché non si perdano d'animo.
22 Slaves, be obedient in every way to the people who, according to human reckoning, are your masters;not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but wholeheartedly, out ofrespect for the Master.	22 Servi, ubbidite in tutto ai padroni carnali, non servendo all'occhio, come per piacere agli uomini, ma cui semplicità di cuore, per timore di Dio.
23 Whatever your work is, put your heart into it as done for the Lord and not for human beings,	23 Qualunque cosa facciate, fatela di cuore come pel Signore, e non per gli uomini:
24 knowing that the Lord wil repay you by making you his heirs. It is Christ the Lord that you are serving.	24 Sapendo, che dal Signore avrete la mercede della eredità: servite a Cristo Signore:
25 Anyone who does wrong wil be repaid in kind. For there is no favouritism.	25 Chi poi farà ingiustizia, riceverà, quello, che ha fatto di male: e non vi ha dinanzi a Dio acccttazione di persone.
