Colossians 3

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Since you have been raised up to be with Christ, you must look for the things that are above, whereChrist is, sitting at God's right hand.	1 Así pues, si habéis resucitado con Cristo, buscad las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios.
2 Let your thoughts be on things above, not on the things that are on the earth,	2 Aspirad a las cosas de arriba, no a las de la tierra.
3 because you have died, and now the life you have is hidden with Christ in God.	3 Porque habéis muerto, y vuestra vida está oculta con Cristo en Dios.
4 But when Christ is revealed -- and he is your life-you, too, wil be revealed with him in glory.	4 Cuando aparezca Cristo, vida vuestra, entonces también vosotros apareceréis gloriosos con él.
5 That is why you must kill everything in you that is earthly: sexual vice, impurity, uncontrol ed passion,evil desires and especially greed, which is the same thing as worshipping a false god;	5 Por tanto, mortificad vuestros miembros terrenos: fornicación, impureza, pasiones, malos deseos y la codicia, que es una idolatría,
6 it is precisely these things which draw God's retribution upon those who resist.	6 todo lo cual atrae la cólera de Dios sobre los rebeldes,
7 And these things made up your way of life when you were living among such people,	7 y que también vosotros practicasteis en otro tiempo, cuando vivíais entre ellas.
8 but now you also must give up al these things: human anger, hot temper, malice, abusive language anddirty talk;	8 Mas ahora, desechad también vosotros todo esto: cólera, ira, maldad, maledicencia y palabras groseras, lejos de vuestra boca.
9 and do not lie to each other. You have stripped off your old behaviour with your old self,	9 No os mintáis unos a otros. Despojaos del hombre viejo con sus obras,
10 and you have put on a new self which will progress towards true knowledge the more it is renewed inthe image of its Creator;	10 y revestíos del hombre nuevo, que se va renovando hasta alcanzar un conocimiento pefecto, según la imagen de su Creador,
11 and in that image there is no room for distinction between Greek and Jew, between the circumcisedand uncircumcised, or between barbarian and Scythian, slave and free. There is only Christ: he is everythingand he is in everything.	11 donde no hay griego y judío; circuncisión e incircuncisión; bárbaro, escita, esclavo, libre, sino que Cristo es todo y en todos.
12 As the chosen of God, then, the holy people whom he loves, you are to be clothed in heartfeltcompassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and patience.	12 Revestíos, pues, como elegidos de Dios, santos y amados, de entrañas de misericordia, de bondad, humildad, mansedumbre, paciencia,
13 Bear with one another; forgive each other if one of you has a complaint against another. The Lord hasforgiven you; now you must do the same.	13 soportándoos unos a otros y perdonándoos mutuamente, si alguno tiene queja contra otro. Como el Señor os perdonó, perdonaos también vosotros.
14 Over al these clothes, put on love, the perfect bond.	14 Y por encima de todo esto, revestíos del amor, que es el vínculo de la perfección.
15 And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were cal ed together inone body. Always be thankful.	15 Y que la paz de Cristo presida vuestros corazones, pues a ella habéis sido llamados formando un solo Cuerpo. Y sed agradecidos.
16 Let the Word of Christ, in al its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise eachother, in al wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God;	16 La palabra de Cristo habite en vosotros con toda su riqueza; instruíos y amonestaos con toda sabiduría, cantad agradecidos, himnos y cánticos inspirados,
17 and whatever you say or do, let it be in the name of the Lord Jesus, in thanksgiving to God the Fatherthrough him.	17 y todo cuanto hagáis, de palabra y de boca, hacedlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias por su medio a Dios Padre.
18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as you should in the Lord.	18 Mujeres, sed sumisas a vuestros maridos, como conviene en el Señor.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be sharp with them.	19 Maridos, amad a vuestras mujeres, y no seáis ásperos con ellas.
20 Children, be obedient to your parents always, because that is what will please the Lord.	20 Hijos, obedeced en todo a vuestros padres, porque esto es grato a Dios en el Señor.
21 Parents, do not irritate your children or they will lose heart.	21 Padres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, no sea que se vuelvan apocados.
22 Slaves, be obedient in every way to the people who, according to human reckoning, are your masters;not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but wholeheartedly, out ofrespect for the Master.	22 Esclavos, obedeced en todo a vuestros amos de este mundo, no porque os vean, como quien busca agradar a los hombres; sino con sencillez de corazón, en el temor del Señor.
23 Whatever your work is, put your heart into it as done for the Lord and not for human beings,	23 Todo cuanto hagáis, hacedlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres,
24 knowing that the Lord wil repay you by making you his heirs. It is Christ the Lord that you are serving.	24 conscientes de que el Señor os dará la herencia en recompensa. El Amo a quien servís es Cristo.
25 Anyone who does wrong wil be repaid in kind. For there is no favouritism.	25 El que obre la injusticia, recibirá conforme a esa injusticia; que no hay acepción de personas.
