Philippians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all God's holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, togetherwith their presiding elders and the deacons.	1 פולוס וטימותיוס עבדי המשיח ישוע אל כל הקדשים במשיח ישוע אשר הם בפילפי עם הפקידים והשמשים
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 חסד לכם ושלום מאת האלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח
3 I thank my God whenever I think of you,	3 אודה לאלהי מדי זכרי אתכם
4 and every time I pray for you al , I always pray with joy	4 ותמיד בכל תפלותי אתחנן בשמחה בעד כלכם
5 for your partnership in the gospel from the very first day up to the present.	5 על התחברותכם אל הבשורה למן היום הראשון ועד הנה
6 I am quite confident that the One who began a good work in you wil go on completing it until the Day ofJesus Christ comes.	6 ובטח אני כי המתחיל בכם המעשה הטוב גם יגמרנו עד יום ישוע המשיח
7 It is only right that I should feel like this towards you all, because you have a place in my heart, sinceyou have all shared together in the grace that has been mine, both my chains and my work defending andestablishing the gospel.	7 כאשר ראוי לי לחשב ככה על כלכם בעבור שאתי אתכם בלבבי במוסרי ובהצדיקי ובחזקי את הבשורה באשר כלכם חברי בחסד
8 For God wil testify for me how much I long for you al with the warm longing of Christ Jesus;	8 כי האלהים לי לעד אשר לכלכם נכספתי באהבת ישוע המשיח
9 it is my prayer that your love for one another may grow more and more with the knowledge andcomplete understanding	9 ועל זאת מתפלל אנכי כי תרבה ותגדל אהבתכם בהשכל ובכל דעת
10 that will help you to come to true discernment, so that you wil be innocent and free of any trace of guiltwhen the Day of Christ comes,	10 למען תבחנו את המבחרות והייתם זכים ובלי מכשול עד יום המשיח
11 entirely fil ed with the fruits of uprightness through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.	11 מלאים פרי הצדקה על ידי ישוע המשיח לכבוד אלהים ותהלתו
12 Now I want you to realise, brothers, that the circumstances of my present life are helping rather thanhindering the advance of the gospel.	12 והנני מודיע אתכם אחי כי אשר מצאתני היתה אך ליתרון הבשורה
13 My chains in Christ have become wel known not only to al the Praetorium, but to everybody else,	13 עד אשר נגלו מוסרותי במשיח בכל שער המלך ולכל הנשארים
14 and so most of the brothers in the Lord have gained confidence from my chains and are getting moreand more daring in announcing the Message without any fear.	14 ורב האחים באדנינו הוסיפו אמץ במוסרותי והתחזקו יותר בלבבם לדבר את הדבר בלי פחד
15 It is true that some of them are preaching Christ out of malice and rivalry; but there are many as welwhose intentions are good;	15 הן יש מגידים את המשיח מקנאה וריב ויש מגידים בכונה טובה
16 some are doing it out of love, knowing that I remain firm in my defence of the gospel.	16 אלה ממריבה מגידים את המשיח לא בלב טהור כי חשבים להוסיף צרה על מוסרי
17 There are others who are proclaiming Christ out of jealousy, not in sincerity but meaning to add to theweight of my chains.	17 ואלה מאהבה באשר הם ידעים כי נתון אנכי להצדיק את הבשורה
18 But what does it matter? Only that in both ways, whether with false motives or true, Christ isproclaimed, and for that I am happy;	18 אך מה בכך הלא בכל אופן אם בעלילה או באמת יגד המשיח ואני הנני שמח בזאת וגם אשמח
19 and I shal go on being happy, too, because I know that this is what wil save me, with your prayers andwith the support of the Spirit of Jesus Christ;	19 כי יודע אני שתהיה לי זאת לישועה בתפלתכם ובעזרת רוח ישוע המשיח
20 al in accordance with my most confident hope and trust that I shal never have to admit defeat, but withcomplete fearlessness I shall go on, so that now, as always, Christ wil be glorified in my body, whether by mylife or my death.	20 ואוחיל ואקוה שלא אבוש בכל דבר כי אם בכל בטחון כאשר מאז כן גם עתה יתגדל המשיח בגופי אם בחיי אם במותי
21 Life to me, of course, is Christ, but then death would be a positive gain.	21 כי המשיח הוא חיי והמות רוח לי
22 On the other hand again, if to be alive in the body gives me an opportunity for fruitful work, I do notknow which I should choose.	22 אולם אם לחיות בבשר עוד יוסיף לי פרי עמלי אין לי להגיד במה אבחר
23 I am caught in this dilemma: I want to be gone and to be with Christ, and this is by far the strongerdesire-	23 כי משוך אני מן השנים נפשי אותה להפטר ולהיות עם המשיח כי זה המבחר
24 and yet for your sake to stay alive in this body is a more urgent need.	24 אבל לעמד עוד בבשר צריך יתר בעבורכם
25 This much I know for certain, that I shal stay and stand by you al , to encourage your advance andyour joy in the faith,	25 ואני בטח וידע כי אותר ואעמד עם כלכם יחד לאמץ אתכם ולהגדיל שמחת אמונתכם
26 so that my return to be among you may increase to overflowing your pride in Jesus Christ on myaccount.	26 למען תרבה על ידי תהלתכם במשיח ישוע בשובי לבוא אליכם
27 But you must always behave in a way that is worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come toyou and see for myself or whether I only hear al about you from a distance, I shall find that you are standing firmand united in spirit, battling, as a team with a single aim, for the faith of the gospel,	27 רק חתנהגו כראוי לבשורת המשיח למען אשמע עליכם אם בבואי לראותכם אם בהיותי רחוק כי קימים אתם ברוח אחת ועזרים אתי בנפש אחת להלחם בעד אמונת הבשורה
28 undismayed by any of your opponents. This will be a clear sign, for them that they are to be lost, andfor you that you are to be saved.	28 ואינכם חרדים מאומה מפני המתקוממים אשר זאת להם אות לאבדם ולכם לישועתכם ומאת האלהים היא
29 This comes from God, for you have been granted the privilege for Christ's sake not only of believing inhim but of suffering for him as wel ;	29 כי נתן לכם בעד המשיח לא לבד להאמין בו כי אם גם להתענות בעדו
30 you are fighting the same battle which you saw me fighting for him and which you hear I am fightingstill.	30 כי גם לכם המלחמה אשר ראיתם בי ואשר עתה שמעים אתם עלי
