Philippians 1

1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, to all God's holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, togetherwith their presiding elders and the deacons.	1 Pál és Timóteus, Krisztus Jézus szolgái, Krisztus Jézus összes szentjének Filippiben az elöljárókkal és a diákonusokkal együtt.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Kegyelem nektek és békesség Istentől, a mi Atyánktól és az Úr Jézus Krisztustól!
3 I thank my God whenever I think of you,	3 Valahányszor megemlékezem rólatok, hálát adok Istenemnek,

9 it is my prayer that your love for one another may grow more and more with the knowledge andcomplete understanding	9 Azért imádkozom, hogy szeretetetek mindjobban gazdagodjék megismerésben és teljes megértésben,
10 that will help you to come to true discernment, so that you wil be innocent and free of any trace of guiltwhen the Day of Christ comes,	10 hogy meg tudjátok ítélni, mi a helyes, hogy tiszták és kifogástalanok legyetek Krisztus napjára,
11 entirely fil ed with the fruits of uprightness through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.	11 telve az igaz életnek Jézus Krisztus által szerzett gyümölcsével Isten dicsőségére és dicséretére.
12 Now I want you to realise, brothers, that the circumstances of my present life are helping rather thanhindering the advance of the gospel.	12 Tudomásotokra akarom hozni, testvérek, hogy jelen körülményeim inkább hasznára vannak az evangéliumnak,
13 My chains in Christ have become wel known not only to al the Praetorium, but to everybody else,	13 mert az egész császári testőrségben és máshol is ismeretes lett, hogy bilincseimet Krisztusért viselem,
14 and so most of the brothers in the Lord have gained confidence from my chains and are getting moreand more daring in announcing the Message without any fear.	14 és az Úrban való testvérek többsége bilincseimből bizalmat merítve bátrabban, félelem nélkül meri hirdetni az igét.
15 It is true that some of them are preaching Christ out of malice and rivalry; but there are many as welwhose intentions are good;	15 Némelyek ugyan irigységből és versengésből, mások azonban jóakaratból hirdetik Krisztust.
16 some are doing it out of love, knowing that I remain firm in my defence of the gospel.	16 Ezek szeretetből, mert tudják, hogy az evangélium védelméért vagyok itt;
17 There are others who are proclaiming Christ out of jealousy, not in sincerity but meaning to add to theweight of my chains.	17 azok meg versengésből, nem tiszta szándékkal hirdetik Krisztust, s azt hiszik, hogy lelki kínt okoznak bilincseimben.
18 But what does it matter? Only that in both ways, whether with false motives or true, Christ isproclaimed, and for that I am happy;	18 De mit számít ez? Csak Krisztust hirdessék bármi módon, akár hátsó gondolattal, akár őszinte szándékkal. Én örülök neki. Sőt, ezután is örülni fogok,
19 and I shal go on being happy, too, because I know that this is what wil save me, with your prayers andwith the support of the Spirit of Jesus Christ;	19 mert tudom, hogy ez üdvösségemre válik imádságotok és Jézus Krisztus Lelkének segítsége által.
20 al in accordance with my most confident hope and trust that I shal never have to admit defeat, but withcomplete fearlessness I shall go on, so that now, as always, Christ wil be glorified in my body, whether by mylife or my death.	20 Ez az én várakozásom és reménységem, hogy semmiben sem szégyenülök meg, ellenkezőleg, teljes a bizalmam, hogy mint mindig, úgy most is megdicsőül Krisztus az én testemben, akár élet, akár halál által.

23 I am caught in this dilemma: I want to be gone and to be with Christ, and this is by far the strongerdesire-	23 A kettő között vívódom: szeretnék elköltözni és Krisztussal lenni, mert ez mindennél jobb lenne,
24 and yet for your sake to stay alive in this body is a more urgent need.	24 tiértetek viszont szükségesebb, hogy a testben maradjak.
25 This much I know for certain, that I shal stay and stand by you al , to encourage your advance andyour joy in the faith,	25 Mivel meg vagyok erről győződve, tudom, hogy maradok, és együtt maradok mindnyájatokkal a ti előrehaladásotok érdekében, és hitből fakadó örömötökre,
26 so that my return to be among you may increase to overflowing your pride in Jesus Christ on myaccount.	26 hogy még inkább dicsekedhessetek velem Krisztus Jézusban, amikor újból elmegyek hozzátok.
27 But you must always behave in a way that is worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come toyou and see for myself or whether I only hear al about you from a distance, I shall find that you are standing firmand united in spirit, battling, as a team with a single aim, for the faith of the gospel,	27 Ezért tehát éljetek is méltón Krisztus evangéliumához, hogy akár elmegyek és meglátlak benneteket, akár távol vagyok, azt halljam rólatok, hogy egy Lélekben vagytok, egyetértően együtt küzdötök az evangélium hitéért,
28 undismayed by any of your opponents. This will be a clear sign, for them that they are to be lost, andfor you that you are to be saved.	28 és egyáltalán nem rettentek meg az ellenfelektől. Ez számukra a kárhozatnak, számotokra pedig az üdvösségnek a jele, mégpedig Istentől.
29 This comes from God, for you have been granted the privilege for Christ's sake not only of believing inhim but of suffering for him as wel ;	29 Mert Krisztusért ti nem csak azt a kegyelmet kaptátok, hogy higgyetek benne, hanem hogy szenvedjetek is érte,
30 you are fighting the same battle which you saw me fighting for him and which you hear I am fightingstill.	30 hiszen ti is ugyanazt a harcot vívjátok, amelyet nálam láttatok, és amelyet most felőlem hallotok.
