1 Corinthians 12

1 About the gifts of the Spirit, brothers, I want you to be quite certain.	1 Riguardo poi ai doni spirituali, non voglio che siate nell'ignoranza, o fratelli.
2 You remember that, when you were pagans, you were irresistibly drawn to inarticulate heathen gods.	2 Sapete che quando eravate Gentili vi lasciavate trascinare dietro agl'idoli muti a talento di chi vi conduceva.
3 Because of that, I want to make it quite clear to you that no one who says 'A curse on Jesus' can bespeaking in the Spirit of God, and nobody is able to say, 'Jesus is Lord' except in the Holy Spirit.	3 Per questo vi fo sapere che nessuno, il quale parli per lo Spirito di Dio, dice anatema a Gesù e che nessuno può dire « Signore Gesù » se non per lo Spirito Santo.
4 There are many different gifts, but it is always the same Spirit;	4 Or c'è varietà nei doni, ma è il medesimo Spirito
5 there are many different ways of serving, but it is always the same Lord.	5 e vi sono diversi ministeri, ma il Signore è lo stesso;
6 There are many different forms of activity, but in everybody it is the same God who is at work in themal .	6 e vi è diversità nelle operazioni, ma è lo stesso Dio che opera tutto in tutti.
7 The particular manifestation of the Spirit granted to each one is to be used for the general good.	7 A ciascuno poi è data la manifestazione dello Spirito ad utilità (comune).
8 To one is given from the Spirit the gift of utterance expressing wisdom; to another the gift of utteranceexpressing knowledge, in accordance with the same Spirit;	8 Infatti ad uno è dato per mezzo dello Spirito il linguaggio dolla sapienza; all'altro il linguaggio della scienza, secondo il medesimo Spirito;
9 to another, faith, from the same Spirit; and to another, the gifts of healing, through this one Spirit;	9 ad un altro la fede, pel medesimo Spirito; ad un altro il dono delle guarigioni, per l'unico e medesimo Spirito;
10 to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the power of distinguishingspirits; to one, the gift of different tongues and to another, the interpretation of tongues.	10 a chi la potenza d'operar miracoli, a chi la profezia, a chi il discernimento degli spiriti, a chi ogni genere di lingue, a chi il dono d'interpretarìe.
11 But at work in al these is one and the same Spirit, distributing them at wil to each individual.	11 Ma tutte queste cose le opera l'unico e medesimo Spirito, che distribuisce a ciascuno come vuole.
12 For as with the human body which is a unity although it has many parts -- al the parts of the body,though many, stil making up one single body -- so it is with Christ.	12 Or come il corpo è uno ed ha molte membra, e tutte le membra del corpo, sebbene molte, formano un sol corpo, cosi è di Cristo.
13 We were baptised into one body in a single Spirit, Jews as wel as Greeks, slaves as wel as freemen, and we were all given the same Spirit to drink.	13 Infatti noi tutti, e Giudei e Gentili, e servi e liberi, siamo stati battezzati in un solo Spirito e per formare un sol corpo, e tutti siamo stati abbeverati di un solo Spirito.
14 And indeed the body consists not of one member but of many.	14 Or, non componendosi il corpo di un membro, ma di molte membra,
15 If the foot were to say, 'I am not a hand and so I do not belong to the body,' it does not belong to thebody any the less for that.	15 e dicesse il piede: « Siccome non son mano, non fo parte del corpo » forse per questo non apparterrebbe al corpo?
16 Or if the ear were to say, 'I am not an eye, and so I do not belong to the body,' that would not stop itsbelonging to the body.	16 E se dicesse l'orecchio: « Siccome non sono occhio, non fo parte del corpo », forse per questo cesserebbe di far parte del corpo?
17 If the whole body were just an eye, how would there be any hearing? If the whole body were hearing,how would there be any smel ing?	17 Se tutto il corpo fosse occhio, dove l'udito? se fosse lutto udito, dove l'odorato?
18 As it is, God has put al the separate parts into the body as he chose.	18 Ma i membri li ha disposti Dìo, collocando ciascuno di essi nel corpo come gli è parso.
19 If they were al the same part, how could it be a body?	19 Se tutte le membra non formassero che un sol membro, dove sarebbe il corpo?
20 As it is, the parts are many but the body is one.	20 invece vi son molte membra e un sol corpo;
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I have no need of you,' and nor can the head say to the feet, 'I haveno need of you.'	21 e non può dire l'occhio alla mano: « Non ho bisogno di te »; nè il capo ai piedi può dire: « Non mi siete necessari ».
22 What is more, it is precisely the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest which are theindispensable ones.	22 Anzi le membra che sembrano più deboli sono le più necessarie;
23 It is the parts of the body which we consider least dignified that we surround with the greatest dignity;and our less presentable parts are given greater presentability	23 e quelle che stimiamo le più ignobili nel corpo le rivestiamo con più ornamenti; e quelle meno decenti le trattiamo con maggior riguardo;
24 which our presentable parts do not need. God has composed the body so that greater dignity isgiven to the parts which were without it,	24 mentre le parti oneste non han bisogno di riguardi. Or Dio ha disposto il corpo in maniera da dare maggior onore alle membra che non ne avevano.
25 and so that there may not be disagreements inside the body but each part may be equal y concernedfor all the others.	25 Affinchè non ci fosse divisione nel corpo, e le membra avessero le une verso l'altro la medesima cura,
26 If one part is hurt, al the parts share its pain. And if one part is honoured, all the parts share its joy.	26 e se un membro soffre, tutte le membra soffrono con lui; e se esulta si rallegrano con lui tutte le membra.
27 Now Christ's body is yourselves, each of you with a part to play in the whole.	27 Or voi siete il corpo di Cristo e membri uniti a membri.
28 And those whom God has appointed in the Church are, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdlyteachers; after them, miraculous powers, then gifts of healing, helpful acts, guidance, various kinds of tongues.	28 E questi li ha costituiti Dio nella Chiesa: in primo luogo gli Apostoli, in secondo luogo i profeti, in terzo i dottori, poi gli operatori di miracoli, quindi chi ha il dono di guarire, di assistere, di governare, delle diverse lingue, dell'interpretazione delle favelle.
29 Are al of them apostles? Or all prophets? Or all teachers? Or al miracle-workers?	29 Son forse tutti Apostoli? Tutti profeti? Tutti dottori ?
30 Do al have the gifts of healing? Do al of them speak in tongues and al interpret them?	30 Tutti operatori di miracoli? Han forse tutti il dono delle guarigioni? Parlan tutti le lingue? Interpretano tutti?
31 Set your mind on the higher gifts. And now I am going to put before you the best way of all.	31 Aspirate ai doni migliori; anzi vi insegno una via più sublime.
