1 It happened that at Iconium they went to the Jewish synagogue, in the same way, and they spoke soeffectively that a great many Jews and Greeks became believers.	1 Ikóniumban pedig az történt, hogy mindnyájan bementek a zsidók zsinagógájába és beszéltek, úgyhogy a zsidók és görögök nagy sokasága hívő lett.
2 (However, the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the gentiles against the brothers and set them inopposition.)	2 Akik azonban a zsidók közül nem hittek, felizgatták és felbőszítették a pogányok lelkét a testvérek ellen.
3 Accordingly Paul and Barnabas stayed on for some time, preaching fearlessly in the Lord; and heattested al they said about his gift of grace, al owing signs and wonders to be performed by them.	3 Mégis ott maradtak azért jó ideig, és bizakodva fáradoztak az Úrban, aki tanúságot tett kegyelmének igéje mellett; megengedte ugyanis, hogy jelek és csodák történjenek a kezük által.

12 They addressed Barnabas as Zeus, and since Paul was the principal speaker they cal ed himHermes.	12 Barnabást elnevezték Jupiternek, Pált meg Merkurnak, mert ő vitte a szót.
13 The priests of Zeus-outside-the-Gate, proposing that al the people should offer sacrifice with them,brought garlanded oxen to the gates.	13 A város előtt lévő Jupiter-templom papja bikákat és koszorúkat hozott a kapuk elé, és a tömeggel együtt áldozatot akart bemutatni.

15 'Friends, what do you think you are doing? We are only human beings, mortal like yourselves. 16 In the past he al owed al the nations to go their own way;	16 A letűnt időkben megengedte minden pogánynak, hogy a saját útján járjon,
17 but even then he did not leave you without evidence of himself in the good things he does for you: hesends you rain from heaven and seasons of fruitfulness; he fil s you with food and your hearts with merriment.'	17 de önmagát sem hagyta tanúságtétel nélkül, mert jót cselekedett az égből: esőt, termékeny időket adott, betöltötte szívünket eledellel és örömmel.«
18 With this speech they just managed to prevent the crowd from offering them sacrifice.	18 Bár ezeket mondták, alig tudták lecsillapítani a tömeget, hogy ne mutasson be nekik áldozatot.
19 Then some Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and turned the people against them. They stonedPaul and dragged him outside the town, thinking he was dead.	19 Antióchiából és Ikóniumból azonban utánuk jött néhány zsidó. Felbujtották a tömeget, és megkövezték Pált. 21 Having preached the good news in that town and made a considerable number of disciples, they wentback through Lystra, Iconium and Antioch.	21 Miután ennek a városnak is hirdették az evangéliumot és sokakat tanítottak, visszafordultak Lisztrába, Ikóniumba és Antióchiába.
22 They put fresh heart into the disciples, encouraging them to persevere in the faith, saying, 'We mustal experience many hardships before we enter the kingdom of God.'	22 Útközben megerősítették a tanítványok lelkét, és intették őket, hogy maradjanak meg a hitben. 27 On their arrival they assembled the church and gave an account of all that God had done with them,and how he had opened the door of faith to the gentiles.	27 Amikor megérkeztek és egybegyűjtötték az egyházat, elbeszélték, milyen nagy dolgokat művelt általuk az Isten, és hogy a hit ajtaját megnyitotta a pogányoknak.
