John 16

1 I have told you al this so that you may not fal away.	1 Azért mondtam nektek mindezt, hogy meg ne botránkozzatok.
2 They wil expel you from the synagogues, and indeed the time is coming when anyone who kills youwil think he is doing a holy service to God.	2 Ki fognak zárni benneteket a zsinagógából, sőt eljön az óra, amikor mindaz, aki megöl titeket, szolgálatot vél tenni az Istennek.
3 They wil do these things because they have never known either the Father or me.	3 Azért teszik ezt, mert nem ismerték meg sem az Atyát, sem engem.
4 But I have told you all this, so that when the time for it comes you may remember that I told you. I didnot tell you this from the beginning, because I was with you;	4 Mindezt pedig azért mondtam nektek, hogy amikor eljön ezeknek az órája, emlékezzetek rájuk, hogy én megmondtam nektek. Kezdetben azért nem mondtam el nektek ezeket, mert veletek voltam.
5 but now I am going to the one who sent me. Not one of you asks, 'Where are you going?'	5 Most elmegyek ahhoz, aki küldött engem, és senki közületek nem kérdi tőlem: ‘Hová mégy?’
6 Yet you are sad at heart because I have told you this.	6 Hanem, mivel ezeket mondtam, szomorúság töltötte be szíveteket.
7 Stil , I am telling you the truth: it is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, theParaclete wil not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.	7 De én az igazságot mondom nektek: Jobb nektek, ha elmegyek. Mert ha nem megyek el, a Vigasztaló nem jön el hozzátok, ha azonban elmegyek, elküldöm őt hozzátok.
8 And when he comes, he wil show the world how wrong it was, about sin, and about who was in theright, and about judgement:	8 Ő, amikor eljön, meggyőzi a világot a bűnről, az igazságosságról és az ítéletről:
9 about sin: in that they refuse to believe in me;	9 vagyis a bűnről, hogy nem hisznek bennem;
10 about who was in the right: in that I am going to the Father and you will see me no more;	10 az igazságosságról, hogy az Atyához megyek, és többé nem láttok engem;
11 about judgement: in that the prince of this world is already condemned.	11 és az ítéletről, hogy ennek a világnak a fejedelme megítéltetett.
12 I still have many things to say to you but they would be too much for you to bear now.	12 Még sok mondanivalóm volna számotokra, de most még nem tudjátok elviselni.
13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth, since he wil not bespeaking of his own accord, but wil say only what he has been told; and he wil reveal to you the things to come.	13 Amikor pedig eljön az igazság Lelke, ő elvezet majd titeket a teljes igazságra, mert nem magától fog szólni, hanem azt fogja mondani, amit hall, és az eljövendő dolgokat hirdeti nektek.
14 He wil glorify me, since al he reveals to you wil be taken from what is mine.	14 Ő majd megdicsőít engem, mert az enyémből vesz, és kijelenti azt nektek.
15 Everything the Father has is mine; that is why I said: all he reveals to you wil be taken from what ismine.	15 Mindaz, ami az Atyáé, az enyém; azért mondtam, hogy az enyémből vesz, és kijelenti azt nektek.
16 In a short time you will no longer see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again.	16 Még egy kis idő, és már nem láttok engem, majd ismét egy kis idő, és látni fogtok engem.«
17 Then some of his disciples said to one another, 'What does he mean, "In a short time you wil nolonger see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again," and, "I am going to the Father"?	17 Ekkor a tanítványok közül néhányan így szóltak egymáshoz: »Mi az, amit mond nekünk: ‘Egy kis idő, és nem láttok engem, majd ismét egy kis idő, és látni fogtok engem’, és: ‘Az Atyához megyek’?«
18 What is this "short time"? We don't know what he means.'	18 Aztán megjegyezték: »Mi az, amit mond: ‘egy kis idő’? Nem értjük, mit beszél!«
19 Jesus knew that they wanted to question him, so he said, 'You are asking one another what I meantby saying, "In a short time you wil no longer see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again."	19 Jézus észrevette, hogy kérdezni akarják, azért így szólt: »Arról tanakodtok egymás között, hogy azt mondtam: ‘Egy kis idő, és nem láttok engem, majd ismét egy kis idő, és látni fogtok engem’?
20 'In al truth I tell you, you wil be weeping and wailing while the world wil rejoice; you will be sorrowful,but your sorrow wil turn to joy.	20 Bizony, bizony mondom nektek, hogy ti sírtok majd, és jajgattok, a világ pedig örvendeni fog. Ti szomorkodtok majd, de szomorúságotok örömre fordul.
21 A woman in childbirth suffers, because her time has come; but when she has given birth to the childshe forgets the suffering in her joy that a human being has been born into the world.	21 Az asszony is, amikor szül, szomorkodik, mert eljött az ő órája; amikor azonban megszülte a gyermeket, már nem emlékszik a szorongatásra az öröm miatt, hogy ember született a világra.
22 So it is with you: you are sad now, but I shal see you again, and your hearts wil be ful of joy, andthat joy no one shal take from you.	22 Most ti is szomorkodtok, de újra látlak majd titeket, a szívetek örülni fog, és örömötöket nem veszi el tőletek senki.
23 When that day comes, you will not ask me any questions. In all truth I tel you, anything you ask fromthe Father he wil grant in my name.	23 S azon a napon már semmit sem kérdeztek tőlem. Bizony, bizony mondom nektek: Amit csak kértek az Atyától az én nevemben, megadja nektek.
24 Until now you have not asked anything in my name. Ask and you wil receive, and so your joy wil becomplete.	24 Eddig semmit sem kértetek az én nevemben. Kérjetek, és megkapjátok, hogy örömötök teljes legyen.
25 I have been tel ing you these things in veiled language. The hour is coming when I shall no longerspeak to you in veiled language but tell you about the Father in plain words.	25 Ezeket példabeszédekben mondtam nektek. De eljön az óra, amikor már nem példabeszédekben szólok nektek, hanem nyíltan beszélek az Atyáról.
26 When that day comes you wil ask in my name; and I do not say that I shal pray to the Father for you,	26 Azon a napon kértek majd az én nevemben, és én nem mondom majd nektek, hogy én fogom kérni az Atyát értetek,
27 because the Father himself loves you for loving me, and believing that I came from God.	27 mert maga az Atya szeret titeket, mivel ti szerettetek engem, és hittétek, hogy én Istentől jöttem.
28 I came from the Father and have come into the world and now I am leaving the world to go to theFather.'	28 Eljöttem az Atyától, és idejöttem a világba; most újra elhagyom a világot, és elmegyek az Atyához.«
29 His disciples said, 'Now you are speaking plainly and not using veiled language.	29 Tanítványai erre azt mondták: »Íme, most nyíltan beszélsz, és nem példabeszédet mondasz.
30 Now we see that you know everything and need not wait for questions to be put into words; becauseof this we believe that you came from God.'	30 Most tudjuk, hogy mindent tudsz, és nincs szükséged arra, hogy valaki kérdezzen téged. Ezért hisszük, hogy az Istentől jöttél.«
31 Jesus answered them: Do you believe at last?	31 Jézus azt felelte nekik: »Most hiszitek?
32 Listen; the time wil come -- indeed it has come already -- when you are going to be scattered, eachgoing his own way and leaving me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.	32 Íme, eljön az óra, sőt már itt is van, amikor elszéledtek, mindenki az otthonába, engem pedig magamra hagytok. De én nem vagyok egyedül, mert az Atya velem van.
33 I have told you al this so that you may find peace in me. In the world you wil have hardship, but becourageous: I have conquered the world.	33 Ezeket azért mondtam el nektek, hogy békességtek legyen bennem. A világban megpróbáltatások érnek titeket, de bízzatok, én legyőztem a világot.«
