John 16

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 I have told you al this so that you may not fal away.	1 Das habe ich euch gesagt, damit ihr keinen Anstoß nehmt.
2 They wil expel you from the synagogues, and indeed the time is coming when anyone who kills youwil think he is doing a holy service to God.	2 Sie werden euch aus der Synagoge ausstoßen, ja es kommt die Stunde, in der jeder, der euch tötet, meint, Gott einen heiligen Dienst zu leisten.
3 They wil do these things because they have never known either the Father or me.	3 Das werden sie tun, weil sie weder den Vater noch mich erkannt haben.
4 But I have told you all this, so that when the time for it comes you may remember that I told you. I didnot tell you this from the beginning, because I was with you;	4 aIch habe es euch gesagt, damit ihr, wenn deren Stunde kommt, euch an meine Worte erinnert. Das habe ich euch nicht gleich zu Anfang gesagt; denn ich war ja bei euch.
5 but now I am going to the one who sent me. Not one of you asks, 'Where are you going?'	5 Jetzt aber gehe ich zu dem, der mich gesandt hat, und keiner von euch fragt mich: Wohin gehst du?
6 Yet you are sad at heart because I have told you this.	6 Vielmehr ist euer Herz von Trauer erfüllt, weil ich euch das gesagt habe.
7 Stil , I am telling you the truth: it is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, theParaclete wil not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.	7 Doch ich sage euch die Wahrheit: Es ist gut für euch, dass ich fortgehe. Denn wenn ich nicht fortgehe, wird der Beistand nicht zu euch kommen; gehe ich aber, so werde ich ihn zu euch senden.
8 And when he comes, he wil show the world how wrong it was, about sin, and about who was in theright, and about judgement:	8 Und wenn er kommt, wird er die Welt überführen (und aufdecken), was Sünde, Gerechtigkeit und Gericht ist;
9 about sin: in that they refuse to believe in me;	9 Sünde: dass sie nicht an mich glauben;
10 about who was in the right: in that I am going to the Father and you will see me no more;	10 Gerechtigkeit: dass ich zum Vater gehe und ihr mich nicht mehr seht;
11 about judgement: in that the prince of this world is already condemned.	11 Gericht: dass der Herrscher dieser Welt gerichtet ist.
12 I still have many things to say to you but they would be too much for you to bear now.	12 Noch vieles habe ich euch zu sagen, aber ihr könnt es jetzt nicht tragen.
13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth, since he wil not bespeaking of his own accord, but wil say only what he has been told; and he wil reveal to you the things to come.	13 Wenn aber jener kommt, der Geist der Wahrheit, wird er euch in die ganze Wahrheit führen. Denn er wird nicht aus sich selbst heraus reden, sondern er wird sagen, was er hört, und euch verkünden, was kommen wird.
14 He wil glorify me, since al he reveals to you wil be taken from what is mine.	14 Er wird mich verherrlichen; denn er wird von dem, was mein ist, nehmen und es euch verkünden.
15 Everything the Father has is mine; that is why I said: all he reveals to you wil be taken from what ismine.	15 Alles, was der Vater hat, ist mein; darum habe ich gesagt: Er nimmt von dem, was mein ist, und wird es euch verkünden.
16 In a short time you will no longer see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again.	16 Noch kurze Zeit, dann seht ihr mich nicht mehr, und wieder eine kurze Zeit, dann werdet ihr mich sehen.
17 Then some of his disciples said to one another, 'What does he mean, "In a short time you wil nolonger see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again," and, "I am going to the Father"?	17 Da sagten einige von seinen Jüngern zueinander: Was meint er damit, wenn er zu uns sagt: Noch kurze Zeit, dann seht ihr mich nicht mehr, und wieder eine kurze Zeit, dann werdet ihr mich sehen? Und was bedeutet: Ich gehe zum Vater?
18 What is this "short time"? We don't know what he means.'	18 Sie sagten: Was heißt das: eine kurze Zeit? Wir wissen nicht, wovon er redet.
19 Jesus knew that they wanted to question him, so he said, 'You are asking one another what I meantby saying, "In a short time you wil no longer see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again."	19 Jesus erkannte, dass sie ihn fragen wollten, und sagte zu ihnen: Ihr macht euch Gedanken darüber, dass ich euch gesagt habe: Noch kurze Zeit, dann seht ihr mich nicht mehr, und wieder eine kurze Zeit, dann werdet ihr mich sehen.
20 'In al truth I tell you, you wil be weeping and wailing while the world wil rejoice; you will be sorrowful,but your sorrow wil turn to joy.	20 Amen, amen, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet weinen und klagen, aber die Welt wird sich freuen; ihr werdet bekümmert sein, aber euer Kummer wird sich in Freude verwandeln.
21 A woman in childbirth suffers, because her time has come; but when she has given birth to the childshe forgets the suffering in her joy that a human being has been born into the world.	21 Wenn die Frau gebären soll, ist sie bekümmert, weil ihre Stunde da ist; aber wenn sie das Kind geboren hat, denkt sie nicht mehr an ihre Not über der Freude, dass ein Mensch zur Welt gekommen ist.
22 So it is with you: you are sad now, but I shal see you again, and your hearts wil be ful of joy, andthat joy no one shal take from you.	22 So seid auch ihr jetzt bekümmert, aber ich werde euch wiedersehen; dann wird euer Herz sich freuen und niemand nimmt euch eure Freude.
23 When that day comes, you will not ask me any questions. In all truth I tel you, anything you ask fromthe Father he wil grant in my name.	23 An jenem Tag werdet ihr mich nichts mehr fragen. Amen, amen, ich sage euch: Was ihr vom Vater erbitten werdet, das wird er euch in meinem Namen geben.
24 Until now you have not asked anything in my name. Ask and you wil receive, and so your joy wil becomplete.	24 Bis jetzt habt ihr noch nichts in meinem Namen erbeten. Bittet und ihr werdet empfangen, damit eure Freude vollkommen ist.
25 I have been tel ing you these things in veiled language. The hour is coming when I shall no longerspeak to you in veiled language but tell you about the Father in plain words.	25 Dies habe ich in verhüllter Rede zu euch gesagt; es kommt die Stunde, in der ich nicht mehr in verhüllter Rede zu euch spreche, sondern euch offen den Vater verkünden werde.
26 When that day comes you wil ask in my name; and I do not say that I shal pray to the Father for you,	26 An jenem Tag werdet ihr in meinem Namen bitten und ich sage nicht, dass ich den Vater für euch bitten werde;
27 because the Father himself loves you for loving me, and believing that I came from God.	27 denn der Vater selbst liebt euch, weil ihr mich geliebt und weil ihr geglaubt habt, dass ich von Gott ausgegangen bin.
28 I came from the Father and have come into the world and now I am leaving the world to go to theFather.'	28 Vom Vater bin ich ausgegangen und in die Welt gekommen; ich verlasse die Welt wieder und gehe zum Vater.
29 His disciples said, 'Now you are speaking plainly and not using veiled language.	29 Da sagten seine Jünger: Jetzt redest du offen und sprichst nicht mehr in Gleichnissen.
30 Now we see that you know everything and need not wait for questions to be put into words; becauseof this we believe that you came from God.'	30 Jetzt wissen wir, dass du alles weißt und von niemand gefragt zu werden brauchst. Darum glauben wir, dass du von Gott gekommen bist.
31 Jesus answered them: Do you believe at last?	31 Jesus erwiderte ihnen: Glaubt ihr jetzt?
32 Listen; the time wil come -- indeed it has come already -- when you are going to be scattered, eachgoing his own way and leaving me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.	32 Die Stunde kommt und sie ist schon da, in der ihr versprengt werdet, jeder in sein Haus, und mich werdet ihr allein lassen. Aber ich bin nicht allein, denn der Vater ist bei mir.
33 I have told you al this so that you may find peace in me. In the world you wil have hardship, but becourageous: I have conquered the world.	33 Dies habe ich zu euch gesagt, damit ihr in mir Frieden habt. In der Welt seid ihr in Bedrängnis; aber habt Mut: Ich habe die Welt besiegt.
