1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.	1 Dopo la sera del sabato, mentre cominciava ad albeggiare il primo giorno della settimana, Maria Maddalena e l'altra Maria andarono a visitare il sepolcro.
2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.	2 Quand'ecco venire un gran terremoto. Perchè un angelo del Signore sceso dal cielo si appressò al sepolcro, e, ribaltatane la pietra, ci sedeva sopra.
3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.	3 Il suo aspetto era come il folgore e la sua veste candida come la neve.
4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.	4 E per lo spavento che ebbero di lui si sbigottirono le guardie e rimasero come morte.
5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.	5 Ma l'angelo prese a dire alle donne: Voi non temete; so che cercate Gesù, il crocifisso.
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,	6 Non è qui: è già risorto, come aveva detto: venite a vedere il luogo dove giaceva il Signore.
7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'	7 Or, presto, andate a dire ai suoi discepoli che egli è risuscitato dai morti: ed ecco vi precede in Galilea, ivi lo vedrete, ecco vi ho avvertite.
8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.	8 E quelle, uscite in fretta dal sepolcro, con timore e gioia grande, corsero a dar la nuova ai discepoli.
9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.	9 Quand'ecco Gesù si fece loro incontro e disse: Salute. Ed esse gli s'accostarono, gli strinsero i piedi e lo adorarono.
10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'	10 Allora Gesù disse loro: Non temete, andate e annunziate ai miei fratelli che vadano in Galilea; là mi vedranno.
11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.	11 E mentre quelle andavano, alcune delle guardie andarono in città a riferire ai principi dei sacerdoti tutto l'accaduto.
12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers	12 E questi, radunatisi cogli anziani e tenuto consiglio, diedero ai soldati una forte somma di danaro,
13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."	13 dicendo loro: Dite: i discepoli di lui son venuti di notte e l'hanno rubato mentre dormivamo.
14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'	14 E se ciò giunge all'orecchio del preside, lo persuaderemo noi, e vi libereremo da molestie.
15 So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among theJews.	15 Ed essi, preso il danaro, fecero come era stato loro indettato. E questa diceria s'è divulgata tra i Giudei sino ad oggi.
16 Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged tomeet them.	16 Ma gli undici discepoli andarono in Galilea al monte designato loro da Gesù.
17 When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.	17 E, vedutolo, ló adorarono: alcuni però dubitarono.
18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.	18 E Gesù accostatosi disse loro: Mi è stato dato ogni potere, in cielo e in terra.
19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,	19 Andate dunque ad ammaestrare tutte le genti, battezzandole nel nome del Padre e del Figlio e dello Spirito Santo,
20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'	20 insegnando loro ad osservare tutte le cose che vi ho comandate. Ed ecco, io sono con voi tutti i giorni, sino alla fine del mondo.
