1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.	1 - Dopo il sabato, all'alba del primo giorno della settimana, Maria Maddalena e l'altra Maria vennero a visitare il sepolcro.
2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.	2 Ed ecco vi fu un gran terremoto, perchè un angelo del Signore scese dal cielo e appressatosi, rovesciò la pietra e vi si sedette.
3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.	3 Il suo aspetto era come di folgore e la sua veste come neve.
4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.	4 Per paura di lui, le guardie si spaventarono e rimasero mezzo morte.
5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.	5 Ma l'angelo prese a dire alle donne: «Non temete voi; perchè io so che cercate Gesù, che è stato crocifisso.
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,	6 Egli non è qui; è risorto come aveva detto; venite a vedere il luogo dove giaceva.
7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'	7 E andate presto a dire a' suoi discepoli ch'egli è risuscitato. Ecco, vi precede in Galilea; là voi lo vedrete. Ecco ve l'ho detto».
8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.	8 E quelle, uscite in fretta dal sepolcro, con timore e gran gioia corsero a dar la nuova a' suoi discepoli.
9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.	9 Ed ecco Gesù farsi loro incontro e dire: «Vi saluto!». Ed esse, accostatesi, gli strinsero i piedi e l'adorarono.
10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'	10 Allora Gesù disse loro: «Non temete, andate ad annunziare a' miei fratelli che vadano in Galilea; là mi vedranno».
11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.	11 Mentre quelle correvano, alcuni della guardia vennero in città ad annunziare ai principi dei Sacerdoti le cose avvenute.
12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers	12 Essi radunarono gli anziani e, dopo aver tenuto consiglio diedero una forte somma ai soldati,
13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."	13 dicendo: «Voi direte che i suoi discepoli son venuti di notte e l'han rubato, mentre voi dormivate.
14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'	14 E se il governatore verrà a saperlo, noi lo persuaderemo e vi metteremo al sicuro».
15 So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among theJews.	15 E i soldati, preso il denaro, fecero conforme alle istruzioni avute; e questa diceria è stata divulgata tra i Giudei fino al dì d'oggi.
16 Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged tomeet them.	16 Quanto agli undici discepoli, andarono in Galilea, sul monte indicato loro da Gesù.
17 When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.	17 Vedendolo, l'adorarono; ma qualcuno dubitava.
18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.	18 Gesù avvicinandosi parlò loro così: «Ogni potere è stato dato a me in cielo e in terra.
19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,	19 Andate dunque, ammaestrate tutte le genti, battezzandole nel nome del Padre e del Figliuolo e dello Spirito Santo,
20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'	20 insegnando loro a osservare tutto quanto v'ho comandato. Ed ecco io sono con voi tutti i giorni sino alla fine del mondo».
