Matthew 28

1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.	1 ואחרי מוצאי השבת כשהאיר לאחד בשבת באה מרים המגדלית ומרים האחרת לראות את הקבר
2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.	2 והנה רעש גדול היה כי מלאך יהוה ירד מן השמים ויגש ויגל את האבן מן הפתח וישב עליה
3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.	3 ויהי מראהו כברק ולבושו לבן כשלג
4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.	4 ומפחדו נבהלו השמרים ויהיו כמתים
5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.	5 ויען המלאך ויאמר אל הנשים אתן אל תיראן הן ידעתי כי את ישוע הנצלב אתן מבקשות
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,	6 איננו פה כי קם כאשר אמר באנה ראינה את המקום אשר שכב שם האדון
7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'	7 ומהרתן ללכת ואמרתן אל תלמידיו כי קם מן המתים והנה הוא הולך לפניכם הגלילה ושם תראהו הנה אמרתי לכן
8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.	8 ותמהרנה לצאת מן הקבר ביראה ובשמחה גדולה ותרצנה להגיד לתלמידיו
9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.	9 הנה הלכות להגיד לתלמידיו והנה ישוע נקרה אליהן ויאמר שלום לכן ותגשנה ותאחזנה ברגליו ותשתחוין לו
10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'	10 ויאמר אליהן ישוע אל תיראן לכנה והגדן לאחי וילכו הגלילה ושם יראוני
11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.	11 ויהי בלכתן והנה אנשים מן המשמר באו העירה ויגידו לראשי הכהנים את כל הנעשה
12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers	12 ויקהלו עם הזקנים ויתיעצו ויתנו כסף לרב אל אנשי הצבא לאמר
13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."	13 אמרו כי באו תלמידיו לילה ויגנבו אותו בהיותנו ישנים
14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'	14 ואם ישמע הדבר לפני ההגמון אנחנו נפיסהו והייתם בלי פחד
15 So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among theJews.	15 ויקחו את הכסף ויעשו כאשר למדו ותצא השמועה הזאת בין היהודים עד היום הזה
16 Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged tomeet them.	16 ועשתי עשר התלמידים הלכו הגלילה אל ההר אשר צום ישוע
17 When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.	17 ויהי כראותם אתו וישתחוו לו ומקצתם נחלקו בלבם
18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.	18 ויגש ישוע וידבר אליהם לאמר נתן לי כל שלטן בשמים ובארץ
19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,	19 לכו ועשו לתלמידים את כל הגוים וטבלתם אתם לשם האב והבן ורוח הקדש
20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'	20 ולמדתם אתם לשמר את כל אשר צויתי אתכם והנה אנכי אתכם כל הימים עד קץ העולם אמן
