1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.	1 Ma la sera del sabato, che si schiariva già il primo dì della settimana, andò Maria Maddalena. e l'altra Maria a visitare il sepolcro.
2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.	2 Quand' ecco egli fu gran tremuoto. Imperocché l'Angolo del Signore scese dal cielo: e appressatosi voltò sossopra la pietra, e sedeva sopra di essa.
3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.	3 E l'aspetto di lui era come un folgore: e la sua veste come neve.
4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.	4 E per la paura, che ebber di lui, si sbigottiron le guardie, e rimaser come morte.
5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.	5 Ma l'Angelo del Signore presa la parola disse alle donne: Non temete voi: imperocché io so, che cercate Gesù crocifisso:
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,	6 Egli non è qui: conciossiachè è risuscitato, conforme disse. Venite a vedere il luogo, dove giaceva il Signore.
7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'	7 E tosto andate, e dite ai discepoli di lui: Com' egli è risuscitato da morte: ed ecco vi va innanzi nella Galilea: ivi lo vedrete: ecco che io vi ho avvertite.
8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.	8 E quelle prestamente uscite dal sepolcro con timore, e gaudio grande, corsero a dar la nuova ai discepoli.
9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.	9 Quand' ecco, che Gesù si fe' loro incontro, e disse: Dio vi salvi. Ed esse se gli accostarono, e strinsero i suoi piedi, e lo adorarono.
10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'	10 Allora Gesù disse loro: Non temete: andate, avvisate i miei fratelli, che vadano nella Galilea; ivi mi vedranno.
11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.	11 Partite che esse furono, alcune delle guardie andarono in città, e riferirono a' principi de' sacerdoti tutto quello, che era accaduto.
12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers	12 E questi radunatisi con gli anziani, e fatta consulta, dettero buona somma di denaro ai soldati,
13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."	13 Dicendo loro: Dite: I discepoli di lui sono venuti di notte tempo, e mentre noi dormivamo, lo hanno rubato.
14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'	14 E ove ciò venga a notizia del preside, noi lo placheremo, e vi libereremo d'ogni molestia.
15 So they took the money and carried out their instructions, and to this day that is the story among theJews.	15 Ed essi, preso il denaro, fecero, come era stato loro insegnato. E questa voce si è divulgata tra gli Ebrei sino al dì d'oggi.
16 Meanwhile the eleven disciples set out for Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had arranged tomeet them.	16 Ma gli undici discepoli andaron nella Galilea al monte assegnato loro da Gesù.
17 When they saw him they fell down before him, though some hesitated.	17 E vedutolo lo adorarono, ma alcuni restarono dubitosi.
18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.	18 Ma Gesù accostatosi parlò loro, dicendo: E stata data a me tutta la podestà in cielo, e in terra.
19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,	19 Andate adunque, istruite tutte le genti, battezzandole nel nome del Padre, del Figliuolo, e dello Spirito santo:
20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'	20 Insegnando loro di osservare tutto quello, che io vi ho comandata. Ed ecco, che io sono con voi per tutti i giorni sino alla consumazione de' secoli.
