Matthew 11

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 When Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples he moved on from there to teach and preachin their towns.	1 Történt pedig, hogy amikor Jézus befejezte tizenkét tanítványának oktatását, elment onnan, hogy tanítson és hirdesse az igét a városaikban.
2 Now John had heard in prison what Christ was doing and he sent his disciples to ask him,	2 Amikor János a börtönben Krisztus tetteiről hallott, elküldte hozzá tanítványait
3 'Are you the one who is to come, or are we to expect someone else?'	3 és megkérdezte tőle: »Te vagy-e az Eljövendő, vagy mást várjunk?«
4 Jesus answered, 'Go back and tel John what you hear and see;	4 Jézus ezt válaszolta nekik: »Menjetek, vigyétek hírül Jánosnak, amit hallotok és láttok:
5 the blind see again, and the lame walk, those suffering from virulent skin-diseases are cleansed, andthe deaf hear, the dead are raised to life and the good news is proclaimed to the poor;	5 A vakok látnak, a sánták járnak, a leprások megtisztulnak, a süketek hallanak, a halottak föltámadnak, a szegényeknek pedig hirdetik az evangéliumot .
6 and blessed is anyone who does not find me a cause of falling.'	6 Boldog, aki nem botránkozik meg bennem.«
7 As the men were leaving, Jesus began to talk to the people about John, 'What did you go out into thedesert to see? A reed swaying in the breeze? No?	7 Amikor azok elmentek, Jézus így kezdett beszélni Jánosról a tömegnek: »Miért mentetek ki, mit akartatok látni a pusztában? Széltől lengetett nádat?
8 Then what did you go out to see? A man wearing fine clothes? Look, those who wear fine clothes areto be found in palaces.	8 Vagy mit akartatok látni, amikor kimentetek? Finom ruhákba öltözött embert? Íme, akik finom ruhákat hordanak, a királyok házaiban laknak.
9 Then what did you go out for? To see a prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet:	9 Vagy mit akartatok látni, amikor kimentetek? Prófétát? Igen, mondom nektek: prófétánál is nagyobbat.
10 he is the one of whom scripture says: Look, I am going to send my messenger in front of you toprepare your way before you.	10 Ő az, akiről írva van: ‘Íme, elküldöm küldöttemet színed előtt, aki elkészíti előtted utadat’ .
11 'In truth I tel you, of al the children born to women, there has never been anyone greater than Johnthe Baptist; yet the least in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he.	11 Bizony, mondom nektek: asszonyok szülöttei között nem támadt nagyobb Keresztelő Jánosnál. De aki a legkisebb a mennyek országában, az nagyobb őnála.
12 Since John the Baptist came, up to this present time, the kingdom of Heaven has been subjected toviolence and the violent are taking it by storm.	12 A mennyek országa Keresztelő János napjaitól mostanáig erőszakot szenved, és az erőszakosak ragadják el azt.
13 Because it was towards John that al the prophecies of the prophets and of the Law were leading;	13 Az összes próféta és a törvény Jánosig erről jövendölt;

18 'For John came, neither eating nor drinking, and they say, "He is possessed."	18 Mert eljött János, nem evett és nem ivott, és azt mondták: ‘Ördöge van!’
19 The Son of man came, eating and drinking, and they say, "Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend oftax col ectors and sinners." 21 'Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done inTyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.	21 »Jaj neked, Korozain! Jaj neked, Betszaida! Mert ha a csodák, amelyek nálatok történtek, Tíruszban és Szidonban történtek volna, már régen megtértek volna, zsákruhában és hamuban.
22 Stil , I tel you that it wil be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on Judgement Day than for you.	22 De mondom nektek: Tírusznak és Szidonnak tűrhetőbb sorsa lesz az ítélet napján, mint nektek.
23 And as for you, Capernaum, did you want to be raised as high as heaven? You shal be flung down tohell. For if the miracles done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have been standing yet.	23 És te, Kafarnaum! Talán az égig emelkedsz? Alászállsz majd az alvilágba! Mert ha a csodák, amelyek nálad történtek, Szodomában történtek volna, megmaradtak volna mind a mai napig.
24 Stil , I tel you that it wil be more bearable for Sodom on Judgement Day than for you.'	24 De mondom nektek: Szodoma földjének tűrhetőbb sorsa lesz az ítélet napján, mint neked.«
25 At that time Jesus exclaimed, 'I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding thesethings from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children.	25 Abban az időben így szólt Jézus: »Áldalak téged Atyám, menny és föld ura, mert elrejtetted ezeket a bölcsek és okosak elől, és kinyilatkoztattad a kicsinyeknek.
26 Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do.	26 Igen, Atyám, így tetszett ez neked!
27 Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father,just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.	27 Mindent nekem adott át az én Atyám, és senki sem ismeri a Fiút, csak az Atya, s az Atyát sem ismeri senki, csak a Fiú, és akinek a Fiú ki akarja nyilatkoztatni.
28 'Come to me, al you who labour and are overburdened, and I wil give you rest.	28 Jöjjetek hozzám mind, akik fáradtak vagytok és terhet hordoztok, és én felüdítelek titeket.
29 Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you wil find rest foryour souls.	29 Vegyétek magatokra igámat, és tanuljatok tőlem, mert szelíd vagyok és alázatos szívű – és nyugalmat találtok lelketeknek .
30 Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.'	30 Mert az én igám édes és az én terhem könnyű.«
