1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e disse:
2 'Make yourself two trumpets; make them of beaten silver, so that you can use them for summoningthe community, and for sounding the order to break camp.	2 «Fatti due trombe d’argento; le farai d’argento lavorato a martello e ti serviranno per convocare la comunità e per far muovere gli accampamenti.
3 Whenever they are sounded, the whole community must gather round you, at the entrance to theTent of Meeting.	3 Quando si suonerà con esse, tutta la comunità si radunerà presso di te all’ingresso della tenda del convegno.
4 But if only one trumpet is sounded, then only the leaders, the heads of Israel's thousands, mustgather round you.	4 Al suono di una tromba sola, si raduneranno presso di te i prìncipi, capi delle migliaia d’Israele.
5 'When the trumpet blast is accompanied by a battle cry, the encampments pitched to the east wil setout.	5 Quando le suonerete a squillo disteso, gli accampamenti che sono a levante si metteranno in cammino.
6 At the second blast accompanied by a battle cry, the encampments pitched to the south wil set out.For breaking camp, the trumpet blast wil be accompanied by a battle cry,	6 Quando le suonerete a squillo disteso una seconda volta, si metteranno in cammino gli accampamenti posti a mezzogiorno. A squillo disteso si suonerà per i loro spostamenti.
7 but for assembling the community the trumpets will be sounded without battle cry.	7 Per radunare l’assemblea, suonerete, ma non con squillo disteso.
8 The Aaronite priests wil sound the trumpets; this is a perpetual decree for you and your descendants.	8 I sacerdoti figli di Aronne suoneranno le trombe; sarà per voi un rito perenne di generazione in generazione.
9 'When in your country you go to war against an enemy who is oppressing you, you will soundtrumpets with a battle cry, and Yahweh your God wil remember you, and you wil be delivered from yourenemies.	9 Quando nella vostra terra entrerete in guerra contro l’avversario che vi attaccherà, suonerete le trombe a squillo disteso e sarete ricordati davanti al Signore, vostro Dio, e sarete salvati dai vostri nemici.
10 At your festivals, solemnities and new-moon feasts, you will sound the trumpets over your burntofferings and communion sacrifices, so that they recal you to the remembrance of your God. I am Yahweh yourGod.'	10 Nel vostro giorno di gioia, nelle vostre solennità e al principio dei vostri mesi, suonerete le trombe durante i vostri olocausti e i vostri sacrifici di comunione. Esse saranno per voi un richiamo davanti al vostro Dio. Io sono il Signore, vostro Dio».
11 In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud rose fromwhere the Dwel ing of the Testimony was,	11 Il secondo anno, il secondo mese, il venti del mese, la nube si alzò da sopra la Dimora della Testimonianza.
12 and the Israelites set out, in marching order, from the desert of Sinai. The cloud came to rest in thedesert of Paran.	12 Gli Israeliti si mossero, secondo il loro ordine di spostamento, dal deserto del Sinai. La nube si fermò nel deserto di Paran.
13 These were the men who set out in the vanguard, at Yahweh's order through Moses:	13 Così si misero in cammino la prima volta, secondo l’ordine del Signore, dato per mezzo di Mosè.
14 first went the standard of the camp of the Judahites and their units, with Nahshon son ofAmminadab commanding that contingent;	14 Per prima si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento dei figli di Giuda, suddivisi secondo le loro schiere. Nacson, figlio di Amminadàb, comandava la schiera di Giuda.
15 Nethanel son of Zuar commanding the tribal contingent of the Issacharites;	15 Netanèl, figlio di Suar, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Ìssacar.
16 and Eliab son of Helon commanding the tribal contingent of the Zebulunites.	16 Eliàb, figlio di Chelon, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Zàbulon.
17 The Dwel ing was then dismantled and the Gershonites and Merarites set out, carrying the Dwel ing.	17 La Dimora fu smontata e si mossero i figli di Gherson e i figli di Merarì, portatori della Dimora.
18 Then came the standard of the camp of the Reubenites and their units, with Elizur son of Shedeurcommanding that contingent;	18 Poi si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento di Ruben, secondo le sue schiere. Elisùr, figlio di Sedeùr, comandava la schiera di Ruben.
19 Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai commanding the tribal contingent of the Simeonites;	19 Selumièl, figlio di Surisaddài, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Simeone.
20 and Eliasaph son of Reuel commanding the tribal contingent of the Gadites.	20 Eliasàf, figlio di Deuèl, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Gad.
21 Then came the Kohathites carrying the sanctuary (the Dwel ing was erected before they arrived).	21 Poi si mossero i Keatiti, portatori del santuario; la Dimora veniva eretta al loro arrivo.
22 Then came the standard of the camp of the Ephraimites and their units, with Elishama son ofAmmihud commanding that contingent;	22 Poi si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento dei figli di Èfraim, suddivisi secondo le sue schiere. Elisamà, figlio di Ammiùd, comandava la schiera di Èfraim.
23 Gamaliel son of Pedahzur commanding the tribal contingent of the Manassehites;	23 Gamlièl, figlio di Pedasùr, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Manasse.
24 and Abidan son of Gideoni commanding the tribal contingent of the Benjaminites.	24 Abidàn, figlio di Ghideonì, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Beniamino.
25 Last of al , the rearguard of al the camps, came the standard of the camp of the Danites and theirunits, with Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai commanding that contingent;	25 Poi si mosse l’insegna dell’accampamento dei figli di Dan, retroguardia di tutti gli accampamenti, suddivisi secondo le loro schiere. Achièzer, figlio di Ammisaddài, comandava la schiera di Dan.
26 Pagiel son of Ochran commanding the tribal contingent of the Asherites;	26 Paghièl, figlio di Ocran, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Aser,
27 and Ahira son of Enan commanding the tribal contingent of the Naphtalites.	27 e Achirà, figlio di Enan, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Nèftali.
28 Such was the order of march for the Israelites, unit by unit. So they set out.	28 Questo era l’ordine degli spostamenti degli Israeliti, secondo le loro schiere, quando levarono le tende.
29 Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, his father-in-law, 'We are setting out for the countryof which Yahweh has said: I shall give it to you. Come with us, and we wil treat you wel , for Yahweh haspromised good things for Israel.'	29 Mosè disse a Obab, figlio di Reuèl il Madianita, suocero di Mosè: «Noi stiamo per partire verso il luogo del quale il Signore ha detto: “Lo darò a voi in possesso”. Vieni con noi e ti faremo del bene, perché il Signore ha promesso del bene a Israele».
30 'I wil not come with you,' he replied, 'but shal go to my own country and kin.'	30 Ma egli replicò: «Io non verrò; anzi tornerò alla mia terra e alla mia parentela». Mosè rispose:
31 'Do not leave us,' Moses said, 'for you know where we can camp in the desert, and so you will beour eyes.	31 «Non ci abbandonare, ti prego, poiché tu conosci i luoghi dove accamparci nel deserto e sarai per noi come gli occhi.
32 If you come with us, we shal share with you whatever blessings Yahweh gives us.'	32 Se vieni con noi, tutto il bene che il Signore farà a noi, noi lo faremo a te».
33 They set out from Yahweh's mountain and travel ed for three days, while the ark of the covenant ofYahweh preceded them on the three-day journey, searching out a place for them to halt.	33 Così partirono dal monte del Signore e fecero tre giornate di cammino; l’arca dell’alleanza del Signore si muoveva davanti a loro durante le tre giornate di cammino, per cercare loro un luogo di sosta.
34 In the daytime, Yahweh's cloud was over them, once they had broken camp.	34 La nube del Signore era sopra di loro durante il giorno, quando partivano dall’accampamento.
35 Whenever the ark set out, Moses would say: Rise, Yahweh, may your enemies be scattered andthose who hate you flee at your approach!	35 Quando l’arca partiva, Mosè diceva: «Sorgi, Signore, e siano dispersi i tuoi nemici e fuggano davanti a te coloro che ti odiano».
36 And when it halted, he would say: Come back, Yahweh, to the countless thousands of Israel!	36 Quando sostava, diceva: «Torna, Signore, alle miriadi di migliaia d’Israele».
