Jonah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Now Yahweh ordained that a great fish should swal ow Jonah; and Jonah remained in the bel y of thefish for three days and three nights.	1 فصلى يونان الى الرب الهه من جوف الحوت
2 From the bel y of the fish, Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God; he said:	2 وقال. دعوت من ضيقي الرب فاستجابني . ‎ صرخت من جوف الهاوية فسمعت صوتي.
3 Out of my distress I cried to Yahweh and he answered me, from the bel y of Sheol I cried out; you heardmy voice!	3 لانك طرحتني في العمق في قلب البحار. فاحاط بي نهر. جازت فوقي جميع تيّاراتك ولججك.
4 For you threw me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the floods closed round me. Al yourwaves and bil ows passed over me;	4 فقلت قد طردت من امام عينيك. ولكنني اعود انظر الى هيكل قدسك.
5 then I thought, 'I am banished from your sight; how shal I ever see your holy Temple again?'	5 قد اكتنفتني مياه الى النفس. احاط بي غمر. التفّ عشب البحر براسي.
6 The waters round me rose to my neck, the deep was closing round me, seaweed twining round myhead.	6 نزلت الى اسافل الجبال. مغاليق الارض عليّ الى الابد. ثم اصعدت من الوهدة حياتي ايها الرب الهي.
7 To the roots of the mountains, I sank into the underworld, and its bars closed round me for ever. But youraised my life from the Pit, Yahweh my God!	7 حين اعيت فيّ نفسي ذكرت الرب فجاءت اليك صلاتي الى هيكل قدسك.
8 When my soul was growing ever weaker, Yahweh, I remembered you, and my prayer reached you inyour holy Temple.	8 الذين يراعون اباطيل كاذبة يتركون نعمتهم.
9 Some abandon their faithful love by worshipping false gods,	9 اما انا فبصوت الحمد اذبح لك واوفي بما نذرته. للرب الخلاص
10 but I shal sacrifice to you with songs of praise. The vow I have made I shall fulfil! Salvation comesfrom Yahweh!	10 وأمر الرب الحوت فقذف يونان الى البر
11 Yahweh spoke to the fish, which then vomited Jonah onto the dry land.
