Jeremiah 36

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh,	1 - E avvenne nel quarto anno di Joachim, figlio di Josia, re di Giuda, che il Signore comunicò a Geremia questa parola dicendogli:
2 'Take a scroll and on it write al the words I have spoken to you about Israel, Judah and al the nations,from the day I first spoke to you, in the time of Josiah, until today.	2 «Prendi un rotolo da scrivere e metti per iscritto tutte le parole che ti ho detto contro Israele e Giuda e contro tutte le genti, dal giorno in cui ho parlato con te ai tempi di Josia fino ad oggi:
3 Perhaps when the House of Judah hears about al the disaster I intend to inflict on them, they will turn,each one of them, from their evil behaviour, so that I can forgive their sinful guilt.'	3 se mai per avventura, udendo quei della casa di Giuda tutte le sciagure che ho disposto di mandar loro, si ravvedano ritraendosi ciascuno dalla sua mala via, e m'induca a perdonare la loro iniquità e il loro peccato».
4 Jeremiah then summoned Baruch son of Neriah, who at his dictation wrote down on the scrol all thewords Yahweh had spoken to him.	4 Allora Geremia chiamò Baruc, figlio di Neria; e Baruc scrisse dalla bocca di Geremia in quel libro, tutte le parole divine che il Signore gli aveva dette.
5 Jeremiah then gave Baruch this order, 'As I am prevented from entering the Temple of Yahweh,	5 Poi Geremia diede ordine a Baruc dicendogli: «Io sono sotto custodia e non posso recarmi alla casa del Signore:
6 you yourself must go and, from the scrol you wrote at my dictation, read all Yahweh's words to thepeople in his Temple on the day of the fast, and in this way you can read them in the hearing also of all theJudaeans who come in from their towns.	6 recati tu e dal rotolo, sul quale hai scritto sotto la mia dettatura, leggi le parole del Signore in guisa che le oda il popolo nella casa del Signore durante la festa del digiuno e inoltre per farle udire a tutto il popolo di Giuda che accorre dai propri paesi le leggerai,
7 Perhaps their prayers wil move Yahweh and they wil turn one and al from their evil behaviour, forgreat is the furious anger with which Yahweh has threatened this people.'	7 se mai avvenga che umilino la loro preghiera nel cospetto del Signore e che si ravveda ciascuno dalla sua pessima via, sentendo quanto grande è l'ira e la indignazione che il Signore ha manifestato contro questo popolo».
8 Baruch son of Neriah duly carried out the order that the prophet Jeremiah had given him, to read alYahweh's words from the book in his Temple.	8 E Baruc, figlio di Neria, fece secondo tutto quello che gli aveva ordinato Geremia profeta, leggendo dal libro le parole del Signore nella casa del Signore.
9 Now, in the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, al the people ofJerusalem and all the people who could get to Jerusalem from the towns of Judah were summoned to a fastbefore Yahweh.	9 E avvenne, nel quinto anno di Joachim figlio di Josia, re di Giuda, nel nono mese, che bandirono il digiuno nel cospetto del Signore, per tutto il popolo in Gerusalemme e per tutta la moltitudine che si era riversata dalle città di Giuda in Gerusalemme.
10 Baruch then read Jeremiah's words from the book; this happened in the room of Gemariah son of thescribe Shaphan, in the upper court at the entry of the New Gate of the Temple of Yahweh, where all the peoplecould hear.	10 E Baruc si pose a leggere dal libro le parole di Geremia nella casa del Signore, nella tesoreria di Gamaria figlio di Safan scriba nell'atrio superiore all'ingresso della porta nuova della casa del Signore, alle orecchie di tutto il popolo.
11 Micaiah son of Gemariah, son of Shaphan, having heard all Yahweh's words read from the book,	11 E Michea, figlio di Gamaria, figlio di Safan, avendo udite tutte le parole del Signore che venivano lette dal libro,
12 went down to the royal palace, to the scribe's room. Al the chief men were in session: the scribeElishama, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son ofHananiah and al the other chief men;	12 discese al palazzo del re, alla tesoreria dello scriba, ed ecco che tutti i principi tenevano seduta: Elisama scriba e Dalaia, figlio di Semeia, Elnatan figlio di Acobor, e Gamaria figlio di Safan, e Sedecia figlio di Anania e tutti gli altri principi.
13 and to them Micaiah reported al the words he heard as Baruch was reading the book aloud to thepeople.	13 E Michea espose tutti i sermoni uditi dietro la lettura che Baruc faceva del libro, davanti al popolo che l'ascoltava.
14 The chief men then by common consent sent Jehudi son of Netaniah to Baruch, with Shelemiah sonof Cushi, to say, 'Come, and bring the scrol with you which you have been reading to the people.'	14 Allora tutti i principi mandarono Judi, figlio di Natania, figlio di Selemia, figlio di Cusi a Baruc per dirgli: «Prendi il libro che hai tra mano su cui hai fatto lettura in presenza del popolo che ascolta e vieni». E Baruc, figlio di Neria, prese il libro in mano e se ne venne a loro.
15 Bringing the scrol with him, Baruch son of Neriah appeared before them. 'Sit down,' they said, 'andread it out.' So Baruch read it to them.	15 Gli dissero: «Siedi e leggi che sentiamo». E Baruc lesse mentre stavano ad ascoltare.
16 Having heard al the words they turned to one another in alarm and said to Baruch, 'We must certainlyinform the king of this.'	16 Dopo dunque che ebbero udito tutte quelle parole, si guardarono a vicenda con stupore e dissero a Baruc: «Bisogna che noi denunciamo al re tutte queste parole».
17 They then questioned Baruch, 'Tel us', they said, 'how you came to write al these words.'	17 Poi lo interrogarono dicendogli: «Raccontaci un po' come hai scritto tutte queste parole raccogliendole dalla sua bocca».
18 'Jeremiah dictated them al to me,' Baruch replied, 'and I wrote them down in ink in this book.'	18 E Baruc rispose loro: «Recitava a viva voce come se mi leggesse tutte queste parole ed io le metteva per iscritto sul libro coll'inchiostro».
19 The chief men said to Baruch, 'You and Jeremiah had better go into hiding; and do not tel anyonewhere you are.'	19 E i principi dissero a Baruc: «Va' e state nascosti tu e Geremia, che nessuno sappia dove siete».
20 Whereupon they went off to the king in the palace court, depositing the scrol in the room of the scribeElishama. They then informed the king of the whole affair.	20 Poi entrarono dal re nell'aula; il libro però l'avevano lasciato nella tesoreria in consegna a Elisama scriba; portarono alle orecchie del re tutte quelle parole.
21 The king sent Jehudi for the scrol , and he brought it from the room of the scribe Elishama and read itto the king and all the chief men standing round the king.	21 Allora il re mandò Judi a prendere il libro e questi, recatolo dalla tesoreria di Elisama scriba, lo lesse davanti al re che ascoltava e a tutti i principi che lo attorniavano.
22 The king was sitting in his winter apartments -- it was the ninth month -- with a fire burning in a brazierin front of him.	22 Il re stava allora nell'appartamento d'inverno, essendo il nono mese, e un braciere era stato collocato dinanzi a lui pieno di brace.
23 Each time Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut them off with a scribe's knife and threwthem into the fire in the brazier until the whole of the scrol had been burnt in the brazier fire.	23 Letto che ebbe Judi tre o quattro colonne del libro, il re col temperino dello scriba lo fece in pezzi e lo gettò sul fuoco che era nel braciere, finchè tutto il libro fu consumato dal fuoco che era nel braciere.
24 But in spite of hearing al these words, neither the king nor any of his courtiers took alarm or tore theirclothes;	24 Ma nè il re, nè alcuno di tutti i suoi ministri che avevano udito quelle parole furono compresi di timore, nè si stracciarono le vestimenta in segno di pentimento.
25 and although Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had urged the king not to burn the scrol he wouldnot listen to them,	25 Però Elnatan, Dalaia e Gamaria si erano opposti al re perchè non bruciasse il libro, ma egli non li ascoltò.
26 but ordered the king's son Jerahmeel and Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel toarrest the scribe Baruch and the prophet Jeremiah. But Yahweh had hidden them.	26 Poi il re diede ordine a Jeremiel, figlio di Amelec, e a Saraia, figlio di Ezriel, e a Selemia, figlio di Abdeel che arrestassero lo scrivano Baruc e il profeta Geremia, ma il Signore li nascose.
27 Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after the king had burnt the scrol containing the wordsBaruch had written at Jeremiah's dictation,	27 E il Signore comunicò la sua parola a Geremia profeta, dopo che il re ebbe bruciato il libro coi discorsi che Baruc vi aveva scritti dalla bocca di Geremia, e gli disse:
28 'Take another scroll and write down all the words that were written on the first scrol burnt byJehoiakim king of Judah.	28 «Prendi di nuovo un altro libro e scrivi sopra tutti i precedenti discorsi che erano sul libro di prima, quello che bruciò Joachim, re di Giuda.
29 And as regards Jehoiakim king of Judah, you are to say, "Yahweh says this: You have burnt thatscrol , saying: Why have you written down: The king of Babylon will certainly come and lay this country wasteand leave it without human or animal?	29 E a Joachim re di Giuda dirai: - Così dice il Signore: "Tu hai bruciato quel libro dicendo: Perchè hai scritto in esso pubblicando che verrà, verrà presto il re di Babilonia e devasterà questa terra e la lascerà vuota di uomini e di animali?".-
30 So, this is what Yahweh says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He wil have no one to occupy thethrone of David, and his corpse wil be tossed out to the heat of the day and the frost of the night.	30 Per questo, il Signore dice così contro Joachim, re di Giuda: - Non lascerà dietro di sè alcuno che segga sul trono di David e il suo cadavere resterà abbandonato al raggio cocente del giorno e al gelo della notte.
31 I shal punish him, his offspring and his courtiers for their guilt; on them, on the citizens of Jerusalemand on the people of Judah I shal bring the total disaster which I had decreed for them but to which they havepaid no attention."	31 E farò scontare sopra di lui e sopra alla sua discendenza e sopra i suoi ministri le sue iniquità, e farò venire su di loro e sopra gli abitanti di Gerusalemme e sopra le gente di Giuda tutto il male che ho loro annunziato del quale non hanno ascoltato la minaccia -».
32 Jeremiah then took another scrol and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, who in it atJeremiah's dictation wrote all the words of the book that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burnt, with many similarwords in addition.	32 Indi Geremia prese un altro libro e lo diede a Baruc, figlio di Neria, suo scrivano, il quale riscrisse su di esso, dalla bocca di Geremia, tutte le parole del libro che Joachim, re di Giuda, aveva bruciato sul fuoco e di più vi furono aggiunti molti altri sermoni che prima non erano.
