Jeremiah 36

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh,	1 Nel quarto anno di Ioiakìm, figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda, fu rivolta a Geremia da parte del Signore questa parola:
2 'Take a scroll and on it write al the words I have spoken to you about Israel, Judah and al the nations,from the day I first spoke to you, in the time of Josiah, until today.	2 «Prendi un rotolo e scrivici tutte le parole che ti ho detto riguardo a Gerusalemme, a Giuda e a tutte le nazioni, dal tempo di Giosia fino ad oggi.
3 Perhaps when the House of Judah hears about al the disaster I intend to inflict on them, they will turn,each one of them, from their evil behaviour, so that I can forgive their sinful guilt.'	3 Forse quelli della casa di Giuda, sentendo tutto il male che mi propongo di fare loro, abbandoneranno la propria condotta perversa e allora io perdonerò le loro iniquità e i loro peccati».
4 Jeremiah then summoned Baruch son of Neriah, who at his dictation wrote down on the scrol all thewords Yahweh had spoken to him.	4 Geremia chiamò Baruc, figlio di Neria, e Baruc scrisse su un rotolo, sotto dettatura di Geremia, tutte le cose che il Signore aveva detto a quest’ultimo.
5 Jeremiah then gave Baruch this order, 'As I am prevented from entering the Temple of Yahweh,	5 Quindi Geremia ordinò a Baruc: «Io sono impedito e non posso andare nel tempio del Signore.
6 you yourself must go and, from the scrol you wrote at my dictation, read all Yahweh's words to thepeople in his Temple on the day of the fast, and in this way you can read them in the hearing also of all theJudaeans who come in from their towns.	6 Andrai dunque tu nel tempio del Signore in un giorno di digiuno a leggere nel rotolo, che hai scritto sotto la mia dettatura, le parole del Signore; le leggerai al popolo e a tutti quelli di Giuda che sono venuti dalle loro città.
7 Perhaps their prayers wil move Yahweh and they wil turn one and al from their evil behaviour, forgreat is the furious anger with which Yahweh has threatened this people.'	7 Forse si umilieranno con suppliche dinanzi al Signore e ciascuno abbandonerà la sua condotta perversa, perché grande è l’ira e il furore che il Signore ha manifestato verso questo popolo».
8 Baruch son of Neriah duly carried out the order that the prophet Jeremiah had given him, to read alYahweh's words from the book in his Temple.	8 Baruc, figlio di Neria, fece quanto gli aveva comandato il profeta Geremia, e lesse dal rotolo le parole del Signore nel tempio del Signore.
9 Now, in the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, al the people ofJerusalem and all the people who could get to Jerusalem from the towns of Judah were summoned to a fastbefore Yahweh.	9 Nel quinto anno di Ioiakìm, figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda, nel nono mese, fu indetto un digiuno davanti al Signore per tutto il popolo di Gerusalemme e per tutto il popolo che era venuto dalle città di Giuda a Gerusalemme.
10 Baruch then read Jeremiah's words from the book; this happened in the room of Gemariah son of thescribe Shaphan, in the upper court at the entry of the New Gate of the Temple of Yahweh, where all the peoplecould hear.	10 Baruc dunque lesse nel rotolo facendo udire a tutto il popolo le parole di Geremia, nel tempio del Signore, nella stanza di Ghemaria, figlio di Safan, lo scriba, nel cortile superiore, presso l’ingresso della porta Nuova del tempio del Signore.
11 Micaiah son of Gemariah, son of Shaphan, having heard all Yahweh's words read from the book,	11 Michea, figlio di Ghemaria, figlio di Safan, udite tutte le parole del Signore lette dal libro,
12 went down to the royal palace, to the scribe's room. Al the chief men were in session: the scribeElishama, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son ofHananiah and al the other chief men;	12 scese alla reggia nella stanza dello scriba; ed ecco, là si trovavano in seduta tutti i capi: Elisamà, lo scriba, e Delaià, figlio di Semaià, Elnatàn, figlio di Acbor, Ghemaria, figlio di Safan, e Sedecìa, figlio di Anania, insieme con tutti i capi.
13 and to them Micaiah reported al the words he heard as Baruch was reading the book aloud to thepeople.	13 Michea riferì loro tutte le parole che aveva udito quando Baruc leggeva nel rotolo al popolo in ascolto.
14 The chief men then by common consent sent Jehudi son of Netaniah to Baruch, with Shelemiah sonof Cushi, to say, 'Come, and bring the scrol with you which you have been reading to the people.'	14 Allora tutti i capi inviarono Iudì, figlio di Netania, figlio di Selemia, figlio di Cusì, da Baruc per dirgli: «Prendi in mano il rotolo che leggevi al popolo e vieni». Baruc, figlio di Neria, prese il rotolo in mano e si recò da loro.
15 Bringing the scrol with him, Baruch son of Neriah appeared before them. 'Sit down,' they said, 'andread it out.' So Baruch read it to them.	15 Ed essi gli dissero: «Siedi e leggi davanti a noi». Baruc lesse davanti a loro.
16 Having heard al the words they turned to one another in alarm and said to Baruch, 'We must certainlyinform the king of this.'	16 Quando udirono tutte quelle parole, si guardarono l’un l’altro pieni di paura e dissero a Baruc: «Dobbiamo riferire al re tutte queste parole».
17 They then questioned Baruch, 'Tel us', they said, 'how you came to write al these words.'	17 Poi chiesero a Baruc: «Raccontaci come hai fatto a scrivere tutte queste parole».
18 'Jeremiah dictated them al to me,' Baruch replied, 'and I wrote them down in ink in this book.'	18 Baruc rispose: «Geremia mi dettava personalmente tutte queste parole e io le scrivevo nel rotolo con l’inchiostro».
19 The chief men said to Baruch, 'You and Jeremiah had better go into hiding; and do not tel anyonewhere you are.'	19 I capi dissero a Baruc: «Va’ e nasconditi insieme con Geremia; nessuno sappia dove siete».
20 Whereupon they went off to the king in the palace court, depositing the scrol in the room of the scribeElishama. They then informed the king of the whole affair.	20 Essi poi si recarono dal re nell’appartamento interno, dopo aver riposto il rotolo nella stanza di Elisamà, lo scriba, e riferirono al re tutte queste parole.
21 The king sent Jehudi for the scrol , and he brought it from the room of the scribe Elishama and read itto the king and all the chief men standing round the king.	21 Allora il re mandò Iudì a prendere il rotolo. Iudì lo prese dalla stanza di Elisamà, lo scriba, e lo lesse davanti al re e a tutti i capi che stavano presso il re.
22 The king was sitting in his winter apartments -- it was the ninth month -- with a fire burning in a brazierin front of him.	22 Il re sedeva nel palazzo d’inverno – si era al nono mese –, con un braciere acceso davanti.
23 Each time Jehudi had read three or four columns, the king cut them off with a scribe's knife and threwthem into the fire in the brazier until the whole of the scrol had been burnt in the brazier fire.	23 Ora, quando Iudì aveva letto tre o quattro colonne, il re le lacerava con il temperino da scriba e le gettava nel fuoco sul braciere, finché l’intero rotolo non fu distrutto nel fuoco del braciere.
24 But in spite of hearing al these words, neither the king nor any of his courtiers took alarm or tore theirclothes;	24 Il re e tutti i suoi ministri non tremarono né si strapparono le vesti all’udire tutte quelle parole.
25 and although Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had urged the king not to burn the scrol he wouldnot listen to them,	25 Eppure Elnatàn, Delaià e Ghemaria avevano supplicato il re di non bruciare il rotolo, ma egli non diede loro ascolto.
26 but ordered the king's son Jerahmeel and Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel toarrest the scribe Baruch and the prophet Jeremiah. But Yahweh had hidden them.	26 Anzi, ordinò a Ieracmeèl, un figlio del re, a Seraià, figlio di Azrièl, e a Selemia, figlio di Abdeèl, di arrestare lo scriba Baruc e il profeta Geremia, ma il Signore li aveva nascosti.
27 Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after the king had burnt the scrol containing the wordsBaruch had written at Jeremiah's dictation,	27 Dopo che il re ebbe bruciato il rotolo con le parole che Baruc aveva scritto sotto dettatura di Geremia, la parola del Signore fu rivolta a Geremia:
28 'Take another scroll and write down all the words that were written on the first scrol burnt byJehoiakim king of Judah.	28 «Prendi un altro rotolo e scrivici tutte le parole che erano nel primo rotolo bruciato da Ioiakìm, re di Giuda.
29 And as regards Jehoiakim king of Judah, you are to say, "Yahweh says this: You have burnt thatscrol , saying: Why have you written down: The king of Babylon will certainly come and lay this country wasteand leave it without human or animal?	29 Contro Ioiakìm, re di Giuda, dirai: Dice il Signore: Tu hai bruciato quel rotolo, dicendo: “Perché hai scritto: verrà il re di Babilonia, devasterà questo paese e farà scomparire uomini e bestie?”.
30 So, this is what Yahweh says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He wil have no one to occupy thethrone of David, and his corpse wil be tossed out to the heat of the day and the frost of the night.	30 Per questo dice il Signore contro Ioiakìm, re di Giuda: Non avrà un erede sul trono di Davide; il suo cadavere sarà esposto al caldo del giorno e al freddo della notte.
31 I shal punish him, his offspring and his courtiers for their guilt; on them, on the citizens of Jerusalemand on the people of Judah I shal bring the total disaster which I had decreed for them but to which they havepaid no attention."	31 Io punirò lui, la sua discendenza e i suoi ministri per le loro iniquità e manderò su di loro, sugli abitanti di Gerusalemme e sugli uomini di Giuda, tutto il male che ho minacciato, senza che mi abbiano dato ascolto».
32 Jeremiah then took another scrol and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, who in it atJeremiah's dictation wrote all the words of the book that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burnt, with many similarwords in addition.	32 Geremia prese un altro rotolo e lo consegnò a Baruc, figlio di Neria, lo scriba, il quale vi scrisse, sotto dettatura di Geremia, tutte le parole del rotolo che Ioiakìm, re di Giuda, aveva bruciato nel fuoco; inoltre vi furono aggiunte molte parole simili a quelle.
