Leviticus 12

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy, she wil beunclean for seven days as when in a state of pol ution due to menstruation.	2 Parle aux Israélites, dis-leur: Si une femme est enceinte et enfante un garçon, elle sera impurependant sept jours comme au temps de la souillure de ses règles.
3 On the eighth day the child's foreskin must be circumcised,	3 Au huitième jour on circoncira le prépuce de l'enfant
4 and she wil wait another thirty-three days for her blood to be purified. She wil not touch anythingconsecrated nor go to the sanctuary until the time of her purification is over.	4 et pendant 33 jours encore elle restera à purifier son sang. Elle ne touchera à rien de consacré etn'ira pas au sanctuaire jusqu'à ce que soit achevé le temps de sa purification.
5 "If she gives birth to a girl, she wil be unclean for two weeks, as during her monthly periods; and willwait another sixty-six days for her blood to be purified.	5 Si elle enfante une fille, elle sera impure pendant deux semaines, comme pendant ses règles, etrestera de plus 66 jours à purifier son sang.
6 "When the period of her purification is over, for either boy or girl, she wil bring the priest at theentrance to the Tent of Meeting a lamb one year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or turtledove as asacrifice for sin.	6 Quand sera achevée la période de sa purification, que ce soit pour un garçon ou pour une fille,elle apportera au prêtre, à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous, un agneau d'un an pour un holocauste et unpigeon ou une tourterelle en sacrifice pour le péché.
7 The priest must offer this before Yahweh, perform the rite of expiation for her, and she wil be purified from her discharge of blood. "Such is the law concerning a woman who gives birth to either a boy or a girl.	7 Le prêtre l'offrira devant Yahvé, accomplira sur elle le rite d'expiation et elle sera purifiée de sonflux de sang. Telle est la loi concernant la femme qui enfante un garçon ou une fille.
8 If she cannot afford a lamb, she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for the burntoffering and the other for the sacrifice for sin. The priest will perform the rite of expiation for her and she wil bepurified." '	8 Si elle est incapable de trouver la somme nécessaire pour une tête de petit bétail, elle prendradeux tourterelles ou deux pigeons, l'un pour l'holocauste et l'autre en sacrifice pour le péché. Le prêtre fera surelle le rite d'expiation et elle sera purifiée.
