Leviticus 12

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy, she wil beunclean for seven days as when in a state of pol ution due to menstruation.	2 Sag zu den Israeliten: Wenn eine Frau niederkommt und einen Knaben gebiert, ist sie sieben Tage unrein, wie sie in der Zeit ihrer Regel unrein ist.
3 On the eighth day the child's foreskin must be circumcised,	3 Am achten Tag soll man die Vorhaut des Kindes beschneiden
4 and she wil wait another thirty-three days for her blood to be purified. She wil not touch anythingconsecrated nor go to the sanctuary until the time of her purification is over.	4 und dreiunddreißig Tage soll die Frau wegen ihrer Reinigungsblutung zu Hause bleiben. Sie darf nichts Geweihtes berühren und nicht zum Heiligtum kommen, bis die Zeit ihrer Reinigung vorüber ist.
5 "If she gives birth to a girl, she wil be unclean for two weeks, as during her monthly periods; and willwait another sixty-six days for her blood to be purified.	5 Wenn sie ein Mädchen gebiert, ist sie zwei Wochen unrein wie während ihrer Regel. Sechsundsechzig Tage soll sie wegen ihrer Reinigungsblutung zu Hause bleiben.
6 "When the period of her purification is over, for either boy or girl, she wil bring the priest at theentrance to the Tent of Meeting a lamb one year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or turtledove as asacrifice for sin.	6 Wenn die Zeit ihrer Reinigung vorüber ist, soll sie, für einen Sohn ebenso wie für eine Tochter, ein einjähriges Schaf als Brandopfer und eine junge Taube oder eine Turteltaube als Sündopfer zum Priester an den Eingang des Offenbarungszeltes bringen.
7 The priest must offer this before Yahweh, perform the rite of expiation for her, and she wil be purified from her discharge of blood. "Such is the law concerning a woman who gives birth to either a boy or a girl.	7 Er soll es vor dem Herrn darbringen und sie entsühnen; so wird sie von ihrem Blutfluss gereinigt. Das ist das Gesetz für eine Frau, die einen Knaben oder ein Mädchen gebiert.
8 If she cannot afford a lamb, she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for the burntoffering and the other for the sacrifice for sin. The priest will perform the rite of expiation for her and she wil bepurified." '	8 Wenn sie die Mittel für ein Schaf nicht aufbringen kann, soll sie zwei Turteltauben oder zwei junge Tauben nehmen, eine als Brandopfer und die andere als Sündopfer; der Priester soll sie entsühnen und so wird sie gereinigt.
