Leviticus 12

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Locutus est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy, she wil beunclean for seven days as when in a state of pol ution due to menstruation.	2 “ Loquere fi liis Israel et dices ad eos: Mulier, si, suscepto semine, pepererit masculum, immunda erit septem diebus iuxta dies separationis menstruae,
3 On the eighth day the child's foreskin must be circumcised,	3 et die octavo circumcidetur infantulus;
4 and she wil wait another thirty-three days for her blood to be purified. She wil not touch anythingconsecrated nor go to the sanctuary until the time of her purification is over.	4 ipsa vero triginta tribus diebus manebit in sanguine purificationis suae; omne sanctum non tanget nec ingredietur sanctuarium, donec impleantur dies purificationis eius.
5 "If she gives birth to a girl, she wil be unclean for two weeks, as during her monthly periods; and willwait another sixty-six days for her blood to be purified.	5 Sin autem feminam pepererit, immunda erit duabus hebdomadibus iuxta ritum fluxus menstrui, et sexaginta ac sex diebus manebit in sanguine purificationis suae.
6 "When the period of her purification is over, for either boy or girl, she wil bring the priest at theentrance to the Tent of Meeting a lamb one year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or turtledove as asacrifice for sin.	6 Cumque expleti fuerint dies purificationis suae pro filio sive pro filia, deferet agnum anniculum in holocaustum et pullum columbae sive turturem pro peccato ad ostium tabernaculi conventus et tradet sacerdoti.
7 The priest must offer this before Yahweh, perform the rite of expiation for her, and she wil be purified from her discharge of blood. "Such is the law concerning a woman who gives birth to either a boy or a girl.	7 Qui offeret illa coram Domino et expiabit eam; et sic mundabitur a profluvio sanguinis sui: ista est lex parientis masculum aut feminam.
8 If she cannot afford a lamb, she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for the burntoffering and the other for the sacrifice for sin. The priest will perform the rite of expiation for her and she wil bepurified." '	8 Quod si non invenerit manus eius, nec potuerit offerre agnum, sumet duos turtures vel duos pullos columbae, unum in holocaustum et alterum pro peccato; expiabitque eam sacerdos, et sic mundabitur ”.
