1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy, she wil beunclean for seven days as when in a state of pol ution due to menstruation.	2 “Voici ce que tu diras aux Israélites: lorsqu’une femme aura été fécondée et donnera le jour à un garçon, elle sera impure durant sept jours comme elle est impure à la période de ses règles.
3 On the eighth day the child's foreskin must be circumcised,	3 Le huitième jour l’enfant sera circoncis dans sa chair, son prépuce.
4 and she wil wait another thirty-three days for her blood to be purified. She wil not touch anythingconsecrated nor go to the sanctuary until the time of her purification is over.	4 Elle, elle restera 33 jours à se purifier de son sang, elle ne touchera aucune chose sainte et n’entrera pas dans le sanctuaire jusqu’au jour où s’achèvera le temps de sa purification.
5 "If she gives birth to a girl, she wil be unclean for two weeks, as during her monthly periods; and willwait another sixty-six days for her blood to be purified.	5 Si elle a mis au monde une fille, elle sera impure durant deux semaines, comme au temps de ses règles, puis elle restera 66 jours à se purifier de son sang.
6 "When the period of her purification is over, for either boy or girl, she wil bring the priest at theentrance to the Tent of Meeting a lamb one year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or turtledove as asacrifice for sin.	6 Lorsque le temps de sa purification sera accompli, pour un fils comme pour une fille, elle présentera au prêtre à l’entrée de la Tente du Rendez-Vous, un agneau d’un an pour l’holocauste et un jeune pigeon ou une tourterelle pour le sacrifice pour le péché.
7 The priest must offer this before Yahweh, perform the rite of expiation for her, and she wil be purified from her discharge of blood. "Such is the law concerning a woman who gives birth to either a boy or a girl.	7 Le prêtre les offrira devant Yahvé et fera pour elle l’expiation, alors elle sera pure de son flux de sang. Voici la loi concernant la femme qui met au monde un fils ou une fille.
8 If she cannot afford a lamb, she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for the burntoffering and the other for the sacrifice for sin. The priest will perform the rite of expiation for her and she wil bepurified." '	8 Si la femme n’a pas de quoi se procurer un agneau, elle prendra deux tourterelles ou deux jeunes pigeons, l’un pour l’holocauste et l’autre pour le sacrifice pour le péché. Le prêtre fera pour elle l’expiation et elle sera purifiée.”
