Leviticus 12

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, dicendo:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "If a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a boy, she wil beunclean for seven days as when in a state of pol ution due to menstruation.	2 « Parla ai figli d'Israele e di' loro: Se una donna, dopo aver concepito, partorisce un maschio, sarà immonda per sette giorni, come nei giorni del flusso mensile.
3 On the eighth day the child's foreskin must be circumcised,	3 Nell'ottavo giorno sarà circonciso il bambino;
4 and she wil wait another thirty-three days for her blood to be purified. She wil not touch anythingconsecrated nor go to the sanctuary until the time of her purification is over.	4 ma essa resterà trentatre giorni nel sangue della sua purificazione; non toccherà nulla di santo, e non entrerà nel santuario, finché non siano compiuti i giorni della sua purificazione.
5 "If she gives birth to a girl, she wil be unclean for two weeks, as during her monthly periods; and willwait another sixty-six days for her blood to be purified.	5 Se poi avrà partorito una figlia, sarà immonda per due settimane, come nel suo flusso mensile, e starà sessantasei giorni nel sangue della sua purificazione.
6 "When the period of her purification is over, for either boy or girl, she wil bring the priest at theentrance to the Tent of Meeting a lamb one year old for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or turtledove as asacrifice for sin.	6 E compiuti che siano i giorni della sua purificazione, sia pel figlio che per la figlia, porterà all'ingresso del Tabernacolo della testimonianza un agnello di un anno per l'olocausto, e un colombino o una tortora per il peccalo. Li darà al sacerdote,
7 The priest must offer this before Yahweh, perform the rite of expiation for her, and she wil be purified from her discharge of blood. "Such is the law concerning a woman who gives birth to either a boy or a girl.	7 il quale li offrirà dinanzi al Signore, farà orazione per lei, e così ella sarà purificata dal flusso del suo sangue. Questa, è la legge per la donna che partorisce un maschio od una femmina.
8 If she cannot afford a lamb, she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, one for the burntoffering and the other for the sacrifice for sin. The priest will perform the rite of expiation for her and she wil bepurified." '	8 Se essa poi non ha mezzi da offrire un agnello, prenderà due tortore o due colombini, uno per l'olocausto, l'altro per il placato: e il sacerdote farà orazione per essa; e così sarà purificata ».
