Isaiah 45

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Thus says Yahweh to his anointed one, to Cyrus whom, he says, I have grasped by his right hand, tomake the nations bow before him and to disarm kings, to open gateways before him so that their gates be closedno more:	1 Così parla il Signore al suo consacrato, a Ciro, che ha preso per la destra, per abbattere davanti a lui le nazioni e per sciogliere le cinture ai lombi dei re, per aprire dinanzi a lui i battenti e perché le porte non restino chiuse.
2 I myself shal go before you, I shall level the heights, I shal shatter the bronze gateways, I shall smashthe iron bars.	2 "Io marcerò davanti a lui, appianerò i pendii, distruggerò le porte di bronzo e spezzerò le sbarre di ferro.
3 I shal give you secret treasures and hidden hoards of wealth, so that you will know that I am Yahweh,who cal you by your name, the God of Israel.	3 Ti consegnerò tesori segreti e depositi ben celati, onde tu sappia che io sono il Signore, il Dio d'Israele, che ti chiamo per nome.
4 It is for the sake of my servant Jacob and of Israel my chosen one, that I have cal ed you by your name,have given you a title though you do not know me.	4 Per amore del mio servo Giacobbe e di Israele, mio eletto, ti ho chiamato per nome, ti ho dato un titolo quando tu non mi conoscevi.
5 I am Yahweh, and there is no other, there is no other God except me. Though you do not know me, Ihave armed you	5 Io sono il Signore, non ve n'è altri; all'infuori di me non vi è dio! Ti ho cinto quando tu non mi conoscevi
6 so that it may be known from east to west that there is no one except me. I am Yahweh, and there is noother,	6 onde sappiano dall'oriente e dall'occidente che vi è il nulla all'infuori di me; io sono il Signore e non vi è altri.
7 I form the light and I create the darkness, I make well-being, and I create disaster, I, Yahweh, do althese things.	7 Io formo la luce e creo le tenebre, faccio il benessere e provoco la sciagura, io, il Signore, faccio tutto questo".
8 Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down saving justice, let the earth openup and blossom with salvation, and let justice sprout with it; I, Yahweh, have created it!	8 Stillate, o cieli, dall'alto, e le nubi facciano piovere la giustizia! Si squarci la terra, fiorisca la salvezza e insieme germogli la giustizia! Io, il Signore, ho creato questo.
9 Woe to anyone who argues with his Maker, one earthenware pot among many! Does the clay say to itspotter, 'What are you doing? Your work has no hands!'	9 Guai a chi contende con chi l'ha formato, al vaso che discute con i plasmatori di ceramica! Forse che l'argilla dice al vasaio: "Che fai?", oppure: "La tua opera non ha manichi"?
10 Woe to anyone who asks a father, 'Why are you begetting?' and a woman, 'Why are you giving birth?'	10 Guai a chi dice al padre: "Che hai generato?", ed alla madre: "Che hai dato alla luce?".
11 Thus says Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel and his Maker: I am asked for signs regarding my sons, Iam given orders about the work I do.	11 Così parla il Signore, il Santo d'Israele che lo ha formato: "Siete forse voi che mi interrogate sui miei figli e mi date ordini circa l'opera delle mie mani?
12 It was I who made the earth and I created human beings on it, mine were the hands that spread outthe heavens and I have given the orders to all their array.	12 Io ho fatto la terra e ho creato l'uomo su di essa; io, le mie mani hanno disteso i cieli e comando a tutte le loro schiere.
13 I myself have raised him in saving justice and I shall make all paths level for him. He will rebuild mycity and bring my exiles home without ransom or indemnity, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	13 Io l'ho suscitato per la giustizia, e ho appianato tutte le sue vie. Egli ricostruirà la mia città e rimanderà i miei deportati, non per denaro né per regali", dice il Signore degli eserciti.
14 Thus says Yahweh: The produce of Egypt, the commerce of Cush and the men of Seba, tall ofstature, wil come over to you and belong to you. They will fol ow you, walking in chains, they wil bow beforeyou, they wil pray to you, 'With you alone is God, and there is no other! The gods do not exist.'	14 Così parla il Signore: "I prodotti dell'Egitto, le merci dell'Etiopia e i Sabei, uomini di alta statura, passeranno a te e saranno tuoi, marceranno dietro a te incatenati, si prostreranno davanti a te e ti pregheranno: Solo con te vi è Dio, non vi è altri; non vi sono altri dèi".
15 Truly, you are a God who conceals himself, God of Israel, Saviour!	15 Veramente tu sei un Dio nascosto, Dio d'Israele, salvatore!
16 They are shamed and humbled, every one of them, humiliated they go, the makers of idols.	16 Saranno svergognati e confusi quelli che si ergono contro di te; se ne andranno con ignominia i fabbricatori di idoli.
17 Israel wil be saved by Yahweh, saved everlastingly. You will never be ashamed or humiliated for everand ever.	17 Israele sarà salvato dal Signore con salvezza eterna; non sarete coperti di vergogna né di ignominia per l'eternità.
18 For thus says Yahweh, the Creator of the heavens -- he is God, who shaped the earth and made it,who set it firm; he did not create it to be chaos, he formed it to be lived in: I am Yahweh, and there is no other.	18 Poiché così parla il Signore che ha creato i cieli, egli che è Dio, che ha formato e fatto la terra; egli l'ha stabilita, non l'ha creata caotica e informe, ma l'ha formata perché sia abitata: "Io sono il Signore e non ve n'è altri.
19 I have not spoken in secret, in some dark corner of the underworld. I did not say, 'Offspring of Jacob,search for me in chaos!' I am Yahweh: I proclaim saving justice, I say what is true.	19 Non ho parlato in segreto, in un angolo di regione tenebrosa. Non ho detto alla discendenza di Giacobbe: Cercatemi invano. Io sono il Signore, che dico ciò che è retto, che annuncio cose vere.
20 Assemble, come, al of you gather round, survivors of the nations. They have no knowledge, thosewho parade their wooden idols and pray to a god that cannot save.	20 Radunatevi e venite, avvicinatevi insieme, scampati delle nazioni! Sono ignoranti quelli che trasportano il loro simulacro di legno, e pregano un dio che non può salvare.
21 Speak up, present your case, let them put their heads together! Who foretold this in the past, whorevealed it long ago? Was it not I, Yahweh? There is no other god except me, no saving God, no Saviour exceptme!	21 Annunciate, presentate le prove, consultatevi pure insieme! Chi aveva fatto intendere ciò nel passato, chi l'aveva annunciato da allora? Non sono forse io, il Signore? Non c'è altro Dio all'infuori di me; un Dio giusto e salvatore non c'è all'infuori di me!
22 Turn to me and you wil be saved, al you ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is no other.	22 Volgetevi a me e sarete salvi, voi tutti confini della terra! Perché io sono Dio e non ve n'è altri!
23 By my own self I swear it; what comes from my mouth is saving justice, it is an irrevocable word: Alshall bend the knee to me, by me every tongue shall swear,	23 Ho giurato per me stesso, dalla mia bocca è uscita la giustizia, una parola che non sarà revocata: sì, davanti a me si piegherà ogni ginocchio, per me giurerà ogni lingua,
24 saying, 'In Yahweh alone are saving justice and strength,' until al those who used to rage at him cometo him in shame.	24 dicendo: Solo nel Signore si trova la giustizia e la potenza". A lui verranno, coperti di vergogna, tutti quelli che fremevano contro di lui.
25 In Yahweh the whole race of Israel finds justice and glory.	25 Per il Signore sarà giusta e si glorificherà tutta la discendenza di Israele.
