Isaiah 45

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 Thus says Yahweh to his anointed one, to Cyrus whom, he says, I have grasped by his right hand, tomake the nations bow before him and to disarm kings, to open gateways before him so that their gates be closedno more:	1 Dice il Signore del suo eletto, di Ciro: «Io l’ho preso per la destra, per abbattere davanti a lui le nazioni, per sciogliere le cinture ai fianchi dei re, per aprire davanti a lui i battenti delle porte e nessun portone rimarrà chiuso.
2 I myself shal go before you, I shall level the heights, I shal shatter the bronze gateways, I shall smashthe iron bars.	2 Io marcerò davanti a te; spianerò le asperità del terreno, spezzerò le porte di bronzo, romperò le spranghe di ferro.
3 I shal give you secret treasures and hidden hoards of wealth, so that you will know that I am Yahweh,who cal you by your name, the God of Israel.	3 Ti consegnerò tesori nascosti e ricchezze ben celate, perché tu sappia che io sono il Signore, Dio d’Israele, che ti chiamo per nome.
4 It is for the sake of my servant Jacob and of Israel my chosen one, that I have cal ed you by your name,have given you a title though you do not know me.	4 Per amore di Giacobbe, mio servo, e d’Israele, mio eletto, io ti ho chiamato per nome, ti ho dato un titolo, sebbene tu non mi conosca.
5 I am Yahweh, and there is no other, there is no other God except me. Though you do not know me, Ihave armed you	5 Io sono il Signore e non c’è alcun altro, fuori di me non c’è dio; ti renderò pronto all’azione, anche se tu non mi conosci,
6 so that it may be known from east to west that there is no one except me. I am Yahweh, and there is noother,	6 perché sappiano dall’oriente e dall’occidente che non c’è nulla fuori di me. Io sono il Signore, non ce n’è altri.
7 I form the light and I create the darkness, I make well-being, and I create disaster, I, Yahweh, do althese things.	7 Io formo la luce e creo le tenebre, faccio il bene e provoco la sciagura; io, il Signore, compio tutto questo.
8 Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the clouds pour down saving justice, let the earth openup and blossom with salvation, and let justice sprout with it; I, Yahweh, have created it!	8 Stillate, cieli, dall’alto e le nubi facciano piovere la giustizia; si apra la terra e produca la salvezza e germogli insieme la giustizia. Io, il Signore, ho creato tutto questo».
9 Woe to anyone who argues with his Maker, one earthenware pot among many! Does the clay say to itspotter, 'What are you doing? Your work has no hands!'	9 Guai a chi contende con chi lo ha plasmato, un vaso fra altri vasi d’argilla. Dirà forse la creta al vasaio: «Che cosa fai?» oppure: «La tua opera non ha manici»?
10 Woe to anyone who asks a father, 'Why are you begetting?' and a woman, 'Why are you giving birth?'	10 Guai a chi dice a un padre: «Che cosa generi?» o a una donna: «Che cosa partorisci?».
11 Thus says Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel and his Maker: I am asked for signs regarding my sons, Iam given orders about the work I do.	11 Così dice il Signore, il Santo d’Israele, che lo ha plasmato: «Volete interrogarmi sul futuro dei miei figli e darmi ordini sul lavoro delle mie mani?
12 It was I who made the earth and I created human beings on it, mine were the hands that spread outthe heavens and I have given the orders to all their array.	12 Io ho fatto la terra e su di essa ho creato l’uomo; io con le mani ho dispiegato i cieli e do ordini a tutto il loro esercito.
13 I myself have raised him in saving justice and I shall make all paths level for him. He will rebuild mycity and bring my exiles home without ransom or indemnity, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	13 Io l’ho suscitato per la giustizia; spianerò tutte le sue vie. Egli ricostruirà la mia città e rimanderà i miei deportati, non per denaro e non per regali», dice il Signore degli eserciti.
14 Thus says Yahweh: The produce of Egypt, the commerce of Cush and the men of Seba, tall ofstature, wil come over to you and belong to you. They will fol ow you, walking in chains, they wil bow beforeyou, they wil pray to you, 'With you alone is God, and there is no other! The gods do not exist.'	14 Così dice il Signore: «Le ricchezze d’Egitto e le merci dell’Etiopia e i Sebei dall’alta statura passeranno a te, saranno tuoi; ti seguiranno in catene, si prostreranno davanti a te, ti diranno supplicanti: “Solo in te è Dio; non ce n’è altri, non esistono altri dèi”».
15 Truly, you are a God who conceals himself, God of Israel, Saviour!	15 Veramente tu sei un Dio nascosto, Dio d’Israele, salvatore.
16 They are shamed and humbled, every one of them, humiliated they go, the makers of idols.	16 Saranno confusi e svergognati quanti s’infuriano contro di lui; se ne andranno con vergogna quelli che fabbricano idoli.
17 Israel wil be saved by Yahweh, saved everlastingly. You will never be ashamed or humiliated for everand ever.	17 Israele sarà salvato dal Signore con salvezza eterna. Non sarete confusi né svergognati nei secoli, per sempre.
18 For thus says Yahweh, the Creator of the heavens -- he is God, who shaped the earth and made it,who set it firm; he did not create it to be chaos, he formed it to be lived in: I am Yahweh, and there is no other.	18 Poiché così dice il Signore, che ha creato i cieli, egli, il Dio che ha plasmato e fatto la terra e l’ha resa stabile, non l’ha creata vuota, ma l’ha plasmata perché fosse abitata: «Io sono il Signore, non ce n’è altri.
19 I have not spoken in secret, in some dark corner of the underworld. I did not say, 'Offspring of Jacob,search for me in chaos!' I am Yahweh: I proclaim saving justice, I say what is true.	19 Io non ho parlato in segreto, in un angolo tenebroso della terra. Non ho detto alla discendenza di Giacobbe: “Cercatemi nel vuoto!”. Io sono il Signore, che parlo con giustizia, che annuncio cose rette.
20 Assemble, come, al of you gather round, survivors of the nations. They have no knowledge, thosewho parade their wooden idols and pray to a god that cannot save.	20 Radunatevi e venite, avvicinatevi tutti insieme, superstiti delle nazioni! Non comprendono quelli che portano un loro idolo di legno e pregano un dio che non può salvare.
21 Speak up, present your case, let them put their heads together! Who foretold this in the past, whorevealed it long ago? Was it not I, Yahweh? There is no other god except me, no saving God, no Saviour exceptme!	21 Raccontate, presentate le prove, consigliatevi pure insieme! Chi ha fatto sentire ciò da molto tempo e chi l’ha raccontato fin da allora? Non sono forse io, il Signore? Fuori di me non c’è altro dio; un dio giusto e salvatore non c’è all’infuori di me.
22 Turn to me and you wil be saved, al you ends of the earth, for I am God, and there is no other.	22 Volgetevi a me e sarete salvi, voi tutti confini della terra, perché io sono Dio, non ce n’è altri.
23 By my own self I swear it; what comes from my mouth is saving justice, it is an irrevocable word: Alshall bend the knee to me, by me every tongue shall swear,	23 Lo giuro su me stesso, dalla mia bocca esce la giustizia, una parola che non torna indietro: davanti a me si piegherà ogni ginocchio, per me giurerà ogni lingua».
24 saying, 'In Yahweh alone are saving justice and strength,' until al those who used to rage at him cometo him in shame.	24 Si dirà: «Solo nel Signore si trovano giustizia e potenza!». Verso di lui verranno, coperti di vergogna, quanti ardevano d’ira contro di lui.
25 In Yahweh the whole race of Israel finds justice and glory.	25 Dal Signore otterrà giustizia e gloria tutta la stirpe d’Israele.
